Although medical problems top the GoFundMe list, due to the coronavirus crisis and quarantine, there have been multiple requests ranging from an ice cream shop employee in Mashpee, Massachusetts, who quit after being verbally abused by customers upset by a long wait, to a Utah mother who lost her daughters in a flash flood, to a Dallas hair salon owner who was jailed for not respecting the quarantine.
In January 2022, a group called Freedom Convoy 2022, collected funds to protest Canada’s requirement of vaccination against Covid for cross-border truck drivers. The company shut down the account, which had reached $10 million in donations, saying that it was not a verified charity and that GoFundMe would refund all donations within 10 days.

Funds of over 10 million were recently raised in support of Canada’s freedom protest but due to pressure from the current sitting Liberal Government the funds were frozen and now refunded, what a joke! As this is literally the overreaching that’s being protested! Disguising! Time to replace gofundme altogether.
Hopefully someone HONEST with the proper resources will start a similar but ETHICAL platform where honest hard working regular folk can fund causes that speak directly to them without Tyrannical Interference!

Go Fund Me is a complete and utter joke. No customer service to speak of. You cannot e-mail, call, or even chat with ANYONE, despite their farcical “happiness team” supposedly working 24/7!! This place is a scam artists dream .I have tried in vain to get the e-mail of ANYONE…..impossible. IMPOSSIBLE. The phone number is either disconnected or has a perpetual busy signal. That’s not even the god damn number! The funds were taken out and we can’t even get them! How do we get funds when the organizer took them?
We were told for Medical fundraising, there were no fees yet over $400 was taken out of my teens go-fund-me! These donations came from the kids and they’re taking from KIDS for my sons MEDICAL EXPENSES!!!! So angry! And to tell us that no fees come out for medical then they take them, not cool!!!! I would have then rathered money just be sent straight to us instead of go-fund-me stealing from my child and his schoolmates! And now to find a phone number, to find this page, is like pulling teeth! Not to mention that we still don’t have access to the money. A go fund me account was set up for me so that I could get home for my fathers funeral service and to possibly try and help with the costs by my sister in law. This was back in July 2019. There have been a lot of issues and I have been trying to find out if the funds were withdrawn and if so when they were withdrawn as I have not recieved a penny. I have not asked for any personal information. In fact I just want to know when & if the funds have been withdrawn. Emails go on between myself & gofundme but I still have no resolution. The emails are slower than snail mail (AKA USPS). This has been going on for a couple of months now, and I need answers!!!!

I would like to know what the qualifications are for setting up a go fund me page. I am the Ministry Leader of the Homeless Feeding program I started at the church I attend. My goal is to become a self sufficient ministry that blesses the community and surrounding communities where we hold service. We have a 501(c)3 number; right now we serve the homeless community the last Saturday of every month. The vision for this ministry is to make this a weekly service and eventually incorporate social services for the clients we service such as assistance with securing housing, employment, health/dental/mental services, credit counseling, education. For now we’re looking for a way to fund the feeding/personal hygiene program.
