SkyMall Corporate Office

SkyMall was founded in 1990 by Alan Lobock, Matthew Del Bianco, Bob Worsley, and Graham Alcock. SkyMall operates a catalog and eCommerce site. The catalogs have long been staples for reading material on most US airlines, including American and SouthWest Air. The original plan was to allow customers to order from the catalog once they landed, and have the products brought to them within 20 minutes. This plan was later changed to home delivery.

The company offers a wide range of items, from dog beds to patio fountains. The company has been bought and sold several times over the years, the most recent being in 2013 when the company merged with Xhibit Corp.

SkyMall and Xhibit filed for bankruptcy in January of 2015, and was purchased by C&A Marketing in bankruptcy court. The company intends to relaunch the catalog, but retain the “cool and unusual” products.

LifeWay Christian Resources Corporate Office

Lifeway Christian Resources was founded in 1891 by J.M. Frost, a pastor. Frost borrowed some money from his wife and ,with the approval of the Southern Baptist Convention, he began a small bookstore, which mainly offered Sunday School materials.

Today, Lifeway Christian Resources is one of the largest providers of religious and Christian materials in the world. In addition to books, this non-profit company offers Christian inspired jewelry, Holiday cards, eBooks, and gifts. The company also does their own ministry, and provides audio and video recordings, as well as church supplies and internet services.

The company has more than 186 locations, more than 4,000 full time employees, and has one of the largest Christian conference centers in the world. Lifeway Christian Resources acquired Berean Christian Stores in late 2013, which had 17 locations in California.

Scentsy was founded in 2003 by two sister-in-laws, Kara Egan and Collette Gunnell in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company began making light bulb based candle and scented wax warmers.

Orville Thompson purchased the company from the women in 2004. He re-launched it to be the home party based business it is today. The company sells its products via multi-level, direct marketing. The company grew quickly and as of 2013, had more than 75,000 sales consultants and 1,013 employees who work at company headquarters in Meridian, Idaho.

Scentsy had annual revenue in 2011 of $190 million. In addition to the original candle warmers and scented wax, the company has expanded into scented bath products, laundry items, and cosmetics.

Parsons Gifts Corporate Office

Parsons Gifts was founded in 18756in Cumming, Georgia. Originally, the company was a general merchandise store, but Calvin and Kate Parsons set up a gift store in 1925. The original building burned in 1982, and the company moved from their downtown location to the Tri-County Plaza.

The company offers a gift, greeting card, and home decor stores. Parsons Gifts is the largest seasonal Christmas store in Georgia. From the one original store in Cumming, the company now has three locations in Atlanta and Alpharetta as well.

The company also sells a wide variety of women’s handbags, scarves, and other accessories, such as jewelry. Parsons also specializes in items for baby showers, weddings, anniversaries, and birthday gifts. The company has approximately 80 employees and has annual revenue in the $3 million range.

Tastefully Simple Corporate Office

Tastefully Simple was founded in 1995 by current CEO Jill Blashack Strahan, who originally ran the company out of a shed in her backyard. Tastefully Simple is a multi-level marketing company which focuses on gifts and food. Products are sold by sales associates at home “parties” where foods can be sampled or gift items inspected before purchase.

The company currently has more than 24,000 sales associates, with approximately 300 of these working at company headquarters in Alexandria, Minnesota. In 2001, the company was listed on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies, and in 2005 the company was inducted into the Inc. Hall of Fame.
