Chronic Tacos Corporate Office

Chronic Tacos was founded in 2001 by Randy Wyner and Dan Biello. The pair opened their first location in Newport Beach, California, because they felt they had to travel too far to find authentic Mexican tacos. They enlisted the help of a Mexican-American friend to be certain they were using an authentic recipe.

The company began franchise operations in 2004. The first franchise was in San Clemente, California.

In 2008, the company opened its first location in Japan.

The Mohammed brothers, Michael, Dave, Dan, and Joey, opened a franchise in Canada in 2010. They loved the company so much that they purchased it for an undisclosed amount in 2012.

Today, Chronic Tacos has 35 locations in California, Nevada, and British Columbia, Canada. All 4 Mohammed brothers work for the company, with Michael acting as both CEO and CFO. The company plans to expand to 100 locations in the next 5 years.

Chronic Tacos celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021 by doing a nationwide tour.

Shane’s Rib Shack Corporate Office

Shane’s Rib Shack was founded in 2002 in McDonough, Georgia, by current CEO Shane Thompson and his wife, Stacy. The original location literally was a wood shack with a tin roof, complete with the outhouse in the back. The company serves barbeque chicken, ribs, and pork, using a barbeque sauce recipe which came from Shane’s grandfather.

The company began franchising in 2005. As of 2016, Shane’s Rib Shack has 74 locations in 10 states. The company frequently sponsors giveaways as a means of giving back to the community, such as free baby back ribs to the first 100 customers in April of 2016.

In March 2021, a customer appreciation program paid off for a Columbia, Georgia, woman who was the winner of $25,000.

Shane’s Rib Shack also offers their barbeque sauce for sale, as well hats, T-shirts, and coffee mugs with the company logo on them.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Corporate Office

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was founded in 1941 in Dallas, Texas, by Travis Dickey. The company operates a chain of barbecued and grilled meat restaurants across the US. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is the largest barbecue franchise in America.

The company began franchising in 1994. Roland Dickey, Jr., was placed as CEO in 2006. QSR Magazine listed Dickey’s Barbecue Pit as one of the “Best Franchise Deals” in 2012. National Restaurant News also awarded Dickey’s Barbecue Pit a spot on their “Top 10 Chain Growth.”

Taco Time Corporate Office

Taco Time was founded by Ron Fraedrick, in 1959 in Eugene, Oregon. Fraedrick took out a second mortgage on his home and borrowed an additional $5,000 to get started. His idea for a walk-up taco stand near the university was very successful.

The first franchise was located in Tacoma, Washington, in 1962. Over the next decade, the company grew rapidly and by the end of the 1960s, there were 48 locations in 7 western states. Today, Taco Time has more than 300 franchised locations in the US, as well as international locations in Canada, Kuwait, and the Netherlands.

The company was purchased by Kahala Brands in 2003 and headquarters were moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Taco Time features the usual tacos and other Mexican-style foods, such as nachos, but the company also offers a unique crispy burrito and salads to its menu that most casual Mexican food chains do not offer.

In February 2023, Ontario, Canada’s, biggest Taco Time location closed permanently after 30 years in business.

In June 2023, some Taco Time locations stopped accepting cash as a means of payment.

Cinnabon Corporate Office

Cinnabon was founded in 1985 by Ray Lindstrom and Rich Komen in the Sea Tac Mall in Washington. Cinnabon is a bakery that operates in malls and high traffic areas such as airport lounges. Their signature item is an extra large cinnamon roll, but the company also sells specialty drinks, cookies, and fried cinnamon “sticks”.

The company has more than 750 locations in the U.S., with additional franchises in 30 countries around the globe. The company has changed hands several times, with Focus Brands, Inc. purchasing Cinnabon $30.3 million in 2004.

The company is well-known for using the most expensive cinnamon and baking everything in house, often times in front of the client.
