Turkey Hill Minit Markets Corporate Office

In 1967, Charles and Emerson Frey opened the first Turkey Hill Minit Markets store on Columbia Avenue in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as a way to better market their dairy products.

In the 1970s, the company continued to expand by acquiring other convenience stores, such as the 36 Louden Hills stores in 1979 and six Ideal Markets. As of 2017, there are 267 locations.

Kroger owned Turkey Hill Minit Markets for a few years but then sold it to the EG Group in 2018.

Also in 2018, the company installed blue lights inside many locations in order to prevent people from using intravenous drugs in the bathrooms.

Turkey Hill Minit Markets is owned by the EG Group and operated independently from Turkey Hill, a separate Peak Rock Capital-owned brand of iced tea, ice cream, and other beverages and frozen desserts.

In January 2020, Burger King opened a location inside a Turkey Hill Minit Market in Pennsylvania. This is part of an overall plan by Turkey Hill to include fast food locs inside many of its stores.

Jim Griffith is an Oklahoma native, working for his family’s business, Griffith Petroleum. Griffith started his career from the ground up, working for Jack’s convenience stores, which his father owned.

In October 2018, OnCue opened several locations in Oklahoma residential areas after residents complained that there were few or no safe, clean stores in which to shop.

In April 2023, the online site Energage gave OnCue the Top Workplace award in 2022.

Royal Farms was founded in 1959. When Cloverland Farms Dairy merged with Royal Dunloggin Dairy, the company rebranded as Royal Farms.

Best known for its fried chicken recipe, Royal Farms is a popular choice for fast food.

As of 2021, Royal Farms had 247 locations with 100 of these located in its home state of Maryland.

In November 2022, the company announced that it would open a new location in North Carolina by early 2023, with more locations in that state to follow soon after.

In April 2023, Royal Farms added breakfast all day to its menu.

Also in April 2023, the company put an old favorite back on the menu. Love it or hate it, Scrapple is returning to the breakfast menu. Customers can get the meaty sausage loaf served with egg and cheese on a biscuit, waffle, Texas Toast, croissant, tortilla or on a sub, as well as a scrapple waffle bowl.

Residents of Pawley’s Island in South Carolina are against the company’s expansion plans that include a gas station.

In November 2020, the Plaid Pantry and four other businesses settled with the state of Oregon regarding price gouging during the Covid 19 pandemic.

In December 2021, Plaid Pantry’s CEO, Jonathan Polonsky, was pushing a measure that currently outlaws the use of flavored tobacco and advertising and places it before the voters. Polonsky said he was interested in a safe alternative but many say that the CEO is only interested because the current ban has hurt sales.
