In April 2018, Mediacom launched in Pakistan. ShareChat, India’s social media platform that is similar to Facebook, hired MediaCom to handle its media mandate in June 2019.

The company is the 5th largest provider of cable television services in the US and serves 22 states. The company’s focus is on rural areas and small towns and is the largest broadband provider in Iowa.

The FCC ranked Mediacom one of the top 4 internet service providers who actually delivers the internet speeds that customers pay for in 2012. However, that same year, a survey done by Consumer Reports lists Mediacom as one of the worst cable providers in the nation. This, according to a survey of 50,000 persons.

GetSafe offers a basic type of home or small office security system with a monitoring hub that uses wifi to notify clients of alerts on their smart phone or computers. In case of a power outage, the system connects via 3G or 4G. In addition to flood sensors, smoke detectors, door opening monitors and motion detectors, the company also offers 85 decibel sirens and motion activated cameras.

The company is headquartered in Concord, California. It has plans to expand its camera line to include a wireless 720p HD camera later in 2016.

Guardian Protection Services was founded in 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The original name of the company was Guardian Alarm Services of Pittsburgh and, at that time, the company covered mainly jewelry stores.

Today, Guardian Protection Services is a nationwide, award-winning security company. Russell L. Cersosimo bought the company in 1975 and, under his guidance, the company expanded and grew substantially. The company was purchased by Armstrong Security in 1991 and works as a subsidiary of its parent company.

The company has won numerous awards over the years, including the SDM Magazine Top 5 Best Alarm Companies in 2015, and it ranked among the Top 5 in the professional security system CEPro in 2013. Guardian Protection Services states they have more than 250,000 clients nationwide.

Protection 1 was founded in 1988 as an offshoot of the electric company Pacificorp. The company soon merged with Westar Energy and quickly became a popular security company.

The company operates home and business security services, including burglar alarms, video surveillance services, fire alarms, personal alarms, carbon monoxide, flood, and temperature alerts, as well as home automation services. The company has been sold several times over the years, and currently operates as a subsidiary of Prime Security Services Borrower, LLC.

In the early part of 2016, the company acquired one of the largest security service providers in the country, ADT Security Services for $42.00 per share, cash. Once the sale is complete, it is expected that all Protection 1 providers will be rebranded to the ADT name.

Ackerman Security was founded in 1967 by current CEO Bruce Turry, and has headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Turry was followed home one evening and was robbed, his house burglarized. Rather than wish the police could have done something, Turry decided to make his own alarm company to help prevent this from happening to others.

Today, Ackerman Security offers home and business burglary alarms, security systems, video monitoring, and web enabled devices which can be operated from any smart phone, tablet, or computer. The company has more than 47,000 homes and business clients across the US and has seen tremendous growth over the past decade.

The Imperial Capital Group has acquired Ackerman Security in the early part of 2015.
