Marshalls Corporate Office

Founded in 1956 by Alfred Marshall, who envisioned a discount brand name clothing store. Marshall, along with several other investors, opened Marshalls and Associates in Beverly, Massachusetts. This store was unique in its day as not only were shoppers able to find deeply discounted brand name clothing, but it was one of the first “find it yourself ” stores, where sales clerks did not offer one on one service.

Originally, the company had several temporary locations set up during the holiday season in the area of 5th Avenue or Rockefeller Center. Today ,the company has a year round permanent location on 7th Avenue, between 55th and 56th streets, which they established in 1997.

The company is known for delivering and setting up Christmas trees in the home of clients within two days after ordering. This is a unique offering. The Christmas Cottage states that it is the oldest Christmas and collectible shop in Manhattan. The company also has an online eCommerce site.

The Christmas Cottage has items from around the world, including rare collectible items and snow globes.
