Casio was founded by Tadao Kashio, who invented a device called a yubiwa pipe, which was worn as a ring. This ring would hold a cigarette so the smoker could smoke the entire cigarette without burning his fingers while leaving his hands free.
Today, Casio is best known for calculators, watches, and musical instruments. The company was the first to make a digital camera with an LCD screen on the back for viewing, as well as the first 3 megapixel camera. In addition to cameras and calculators, the company also makes watches, cash registers, film cameras, laptop computers, mobile phones, printers, electronic games, clocks and televisions.
The company announced in October of 2017 that it would have new colors and improved features for their popular G-Steel Watches, which will use Bluetooth to pair with smartphones and other devices.
