Cold Truth often gets rave reviews for its products and frequently runs co-ops where the profit from one or more days is donated to a particular charity.
In June 2022, a social media post from owner Tim Mahoney overshadowed everything else after Mahoney stated that, since they are a family business, they refuse to serve police officers wearing body armor.
The post has since been deleted but not before drawing the ire of many, including police and fire first responders, who have called for a boycott.
Cold Truth Soft Serve maintains a corporate office on Cass Avenue in mid-town Detroit, Michigan.
