Christmas Tree Shops were founded in 1970 in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, by Doreen and Chuck Bilezikian. The name comes from the original concept of three stores in one; The Front Shop, The Back Shop, and The Barn Shop. This is why the name is called Christmas Trees Shops, rather than the singular “Shop”.
The company operates a chain of discount stores offering everything from patio furniture to blankets, food to toys, household goods to Christmas items. The focus is on Christmas items, including lights, decorations, and trees, but the company sells a very wide variety of just about everything under the sun.
Christmas Tree Shops has 83 locations and was purchased by Bed, Bath & Beyond in 2003. The company operates as a fully owned subsidiary.

I made a purchase of Christmas ornaments at the Christmas tree shop on 393 N. Central Ave., Hartsdale, NY. I was companied by my 17 year old autistic nephew. While at the register I sent my nephew to the car to get a bag for the items. As he stepped outside the store he was approached by four police officers, who then questioned him about shoplifting. My nephew who is autistic ran back inside into the store to get me. I then spoke with the police officers outside and explain to them that I am wearing sweatpants, slides and a T-shirt with a small wallet. No one was shoplifting!! I was very confuse over the misunderstanding and extremely embarrassed. While on lookers watched this play out, I just cannot believe that this was happening to me. It was like something you would see on social media. As one of the police officers looked at my receipt they then realize that they were not needed attempted to allow us to go, but then there was one officer that was very aggressive and still accused us of shoplifting, insinuating we stole the items but then put the items back after having eye contact with an employee. I was extremely upset. I had to stop myself from getting into a verbal confrontation with him. Finally leaving as I drove home I turned around and went back to the store to confront the manager. Who then told me that this happens all the time and that she was sorry (I did not accept her apology). she actually admitted that she called the police after an employee told her that we were shoplifting. I let her know that I did not appreciate her not coming outside during the time the police officers were there and to truly explain the situation. (And fir her to see that they were WRONG)! I was very upset and let her know that this was not acceptable. I then told her I wanted to return all of the items that I had purchased. My spirit was no longer comfortable bringing these items into my home.
I am still extremely traumatized from this situation as well as my 17 year old autistic nephew.
I hope this will never happen to anyone else shopping at the Christmas tree shop in Hartsdale New York.

Your Moosic PA store needs help and staff training on customer service. See I shop this store once twice a month and at least every holiday for my bed and breakfast we have 2 in near by town. The line are ridicules long and wait times to long. Employees are oblivious in assisting customers. They blame corporate for everything.

I live in Connecticut and shop in orange. I used to be able to order online which was great because I can’t always get there. Now the online ordering is no longer???? The emails still come with the new flyers but I cannot order online. Why did this stop? Would you please bring it back. I can’t always get there and even if I could there is no guarantee what I want would be at my store. I sent a letter to the president but I guess he was too busy to even have one person respond to me.

My friend and myself shopped at the Christmas Tree Shop in Newington, NH on Sunday., Dec. 15. Together, on my computer, we printed her out a coupon for $10.00 off $50.00. I had already printed out mine. Ohhhh!!!! Two ladies at the checking out register said I couldn’t purchase what I had bought for the ‘as advertised’ $2.99 Draft Dodgers, as they were $4.99 etc., etc. I told her it was advertised, well she carried on and on and we walked down to where another clerk had pointed them out to me on a circular rack. (I had picked out 5 of them). Well, the lady clerk walked me back to a bin and started pulling some other draft dodgers out of the bottom of a bin. The animal ones ($10.00) were on the top. She was very arragant and the other clerk at the register was also. They finally did let me have the ones I wanted for the $2.99, as the others for that ‘supposedly’ price, were not even marked; just at the bottom of the bin. The Mgr. one (she said she was mgr.), but I find that very hard to believe, as she was… evidently, was NOT trained properly to deal with the public at the wonderful Christmas Tree Shop. We go there a lot, and most always spend over $100.00, or close to it when we go. It will be awhile before I want to deal with those two miserable clerks. Everyone in the store could hear them. Most all the clerks have been very, very nice and helpful. Are we allowed to print a coupon out for a friend? I have done so before and never have I been treated like that! They both said we could not do that!!! Thank you, and I still WILL print out a coupon for my friend, until I hear from you otherwise. I will be 80 next month, and I am not used to being treated as we were. I guess we will HAVE TOO learn to order online, but we rather go to the stores, especially the Christmas Tree Shop. Thank you.

My mother is 70 years old, I am starting to worry now when she is shopping on her own and with good reason.
She was in the Christmas Tree Shoppe 393 North Central Ave, Hartsdale, NY 10530 on the evening of October 22nd 2019 . Where an employee was assisting a customer with baking pan presumably on a high shelf where they could not reach. The Christmas tree employee apparently hit my 70 year old mother accidently on the head hard enough for her to see stars. What really upset her is the blatant disregard for her well being and lack of manners. He offered no apology merely just stared at her. This of course upset her enough that she went to the front of the store and told the front desk people what had happened. And they pretty much acted in the same fashion. I guess it’s a lot to ask that maybe employees get a little tutorial on manners or how to treat elderly people (or all people really) . She is not a woman prone to hysterics or say something like “I’ll sue!”. She was just deeply offended by of the cavalier attitude of the employees.

I am very upset with customer service concerning the purchases I recently made at the Downingtown, Pa location. I reside in Pittsburgh and on my way home from visiting my mom in Philadelphia I stopped off to shop at this store. I made quite a few purchases. When I got home that evening a few of the items I purchased were not in my bags. I called the store and spoke to the manager. He apologized and said my bag was found at register he would send them via Fed Ex. 10 days later and my items are still not here. I called the store. Manager said for some reason Fed Ex has not been stopping by their store to pick up items to be sent out. I find this hard to believe. I called Corp. I was told to send an email. Very poor service on their part. I will never shop there again. Sad part is, I usually spend over 100.00 each visit.

I am so upset that you stopped online purchases. I bought so much from you and now there is no store close to me. I do not drive highways. Also there are a lot of people who can’t get to your stores. I can’t believe that you were not making money from the online sales. I am hoping you will bring it back. i see so many items in the emails that I would like to purchase and can’t. Thank you for listening.

I just received a phone call from my daughter who was shopping at the Deer Park, NY location. She had her one year old baby with her and ran in to get some items for her other sons birthday party. She kindly asked the manager Chris if she can place some of the items behind the counter, as they were getting heavy, so she can get a few more items and he gave her a real hard time, I believe his exact words were ” Next time you choose to shop here, you should choose to either wheel your baby or wheel a shopping cart” I am appalled! My daughter left there crying. I called the store and spoke to Chris and asked for his last name and of course he refused. I told my daughter she should call corporate so no one else should be treated the way she was. I really hope you will look into this matter and will be waiting to here back from you. Regards,

Hi There, It appears that my email is already in CTS’s system, although I have not received any emails. I have an older apple computer that does not have a lot of available storage. I also have had password issues which effected a handful of my apps; one of them being my email.
I have tried multiple times today, to contact customer service via CTS’s generic email page. This page has not sent my info & query. Instead this page has auto-advises me to fill in “topic field” before it can be sent. I have thoroughly filled in all fields ; my techie son has also double checked & thoroughly filled in as well). I’m stumped!
Any chance your office can just “reset” my information or reset my email – in hopes that it will remedy my email issue. Thanks

I would also LOVE to have a Christmas Tree Shops where I live. There are 2 K-Mart stores closing. One in Mahopac, NY where I live (and a brand new Stop and Shop Supermarket just opened in this shopping center) , and the other is in Yorktown Heights, NY, the next town over. They are both great size stores. The only other Christmas Tree Shops anywhere near me are a minimum of 45 minutes away.

On 6/7/17, I purchased a small chest from the Hartsdale, New York Christmas Tree Shop. I paid by my Visa Debit Card in the amount of $107.36. I was told they could hold it for me for one day until I got someone with a truck to pick it up for me….I don’t have a car….I’m 69 y.o. and cannot carry such an item. “Mike”, the store mgr. than said “If you pay for an item you must take it out of the store with you…..that’s Corporate’s policy”……..cancelled the sale, and credited my account. One hour later I returned and re-purchased said item. This time they billed my VISA DEBIT card twice. I DEMAND A RETURN OF MY $107.36. I shop there a lot because it is very near my home, and spend a lot of $$ there, but I am not about to allow this firm have $107.36 of my $$. I’ve called Corporate, they said they’d look into it…..no return calls. “Jody” a cashier says it takes 7-10 days to be credited to my acct….this sounds silly to me. Please call me @ (914) 584-4125 and have this store either re-credit my acct. or give me cash. I do not want to contact the local Better Business Office in Westchester County. Thanking you in advance for your effort.

I returned my items & left. They said you must have gone somewhere else first, I said I just came from work. I’ve never had an issue like this before & ive been going there since it opened. If she was off by $2 she could have made other errors as well that included my $10.

I’ve had several occasions to visit your Henrietta New York store. Each time I have come to the register I have been lucky enough to have Gloria as my cashier. She excels in customer service is quick and is very very pleasant and makes the buying experience very nice. She’s always smiling.

I’m not sure who the manager is that was following me around the entire store up until I got to the registers racially profiling me. Her behavior was ridiculous to see if I stole something?! And she had no probable cause?
I have no reason to steal when I have a job as well as my OWN money. She literally followed me in every aisle and asked if I needed help looking for something, acting as if she was putting things away and magically appeared at the only register I was standing at and watching my transaction it wasn’t even busy in the store location. She didn’t help bag or anything. She didn’t go to any other registers to help any of the other customers that were there maybe because they were white? She just stood there and watched to “make sure I paid for everything!”
I can not believe in 2020 as a black man I was treated that way in this store & I should not have to feel that way. This will be the first & last time I will be shopping in this location. I will also be making sure to complain on the company website as well. Because this in an injustice and completely ruined my shopping experience and I was ready to just put everything back. And she definitely heard me saying something as I was shopping with my partner as well. And she only spoke to me and not him. This is an outrage and disturbing & disgusting behavior to still be happening in this day & age.

Complete incompetence of personnel in Cherry Hill, NJ store
After being told via telephone call that an item was in stock, and the item would be held at “Customer Service”, I found, the hard way, that IT WAS NOT held at customer service because it was not in the store altogether.
Upon arrival at store, I was told, the item supposedly held for me at “Customer Service” was not there, much less on the shelf.
The Manager(?) after seeing on the computer that the item was in the store, she said the product arrived on Feb. 18, but they were “behind” in stocking the shelves, and that she’d look for the item in the warehouse. After several minutes she returned saying she could not find the item in the warehouse, and the best alternative was to go to the Deptford, NJ store where they had the item. I traveled approx. 20 miles in each direction, and purchased the item.
In the future, I will find an alternative source for anything sold by the Christmas Tree Shops, because I cannot rely on any information about product availability, quality, or customer service.

I have enclosed a newspaper article about my 12 year old grandson who collects nutcrackers. I am sending you an email asking if by chance since it is after Christmas and some of your nutcrackers maybe damaged and need repair that before you would dis guard them you maybe would consider saving them for my grandson. The reason I am asking this is because as you will read in the newspaper article that quite a few of his collection of nutcrackers were purchased at The Christmas Tree Shop by me and other family members. He does not care if they are damaged because some of the ones he has and has played with have gotten damaged. Just thought if you would like reading about his collection and again before any of the nutcrackers are being thrown to the way side please get in touch with me. I could either pick them up or pay for the shipping of them if you take that into consideration. Thanks much and see the article below.

I recently applied for seasonal part time work at the Christmas tree shops in altamonte springs, fl. Although I was called and hired quickly I was very disappointed in how unprofessional the management at this location was. Frosty
First I received a call from who I found out late was a lead associate to set an interview but he never left his name or even mentioned the store name. Then after my interview the store manager hired me on the spot. Then I get a call to start orientation late in the evening and I was driving on the hwy. I show up to orientation but I had the wrong time and no one knew anything didn’t bother to verify with any manager the correct time. The associate told me to come back at 1 pm. So I do to find out after waiting 30 minutes that I needed to come back at 6pm. I wasted 2 trips. Finally after completing orientation the said we would get called in a day or two with our schedule instead I didn’t hear back for 2 weeks and I even called to follow up. When I did get called for training it landed on a week night I was unavailable so I called and spoke with the same lead Cedric to explain and reschedule the training day. He tells me I was schedule for the following Thursday I show up and again no one knew anything. The supervisor called the lead to ask he tells the guy they cancelled my shift because I couldn’t complete training To call back the next day. I did as told and the ma Manager says they termed me and no one even bothered to call me. She scheduled me to come in later that day but at that point I was very frustrated with how disorganized they were happened to get another offer and did not show up. This is a real shame this is how they treat new hires seasonal workers. I’ve worked previously at high end retail stores and they truly lost a good employee. I’m sure this location does this often. I was very excited to with there and take advantage of the shopping but after this situation only did they lose a good employee but a good customer as well. I want to also mention that at the end of orientation the store manager speaks to us about the importance of passing secret shops if not you will be terminated. That’s a joke I worked for cole haan for 5 years which also had the same secret shops every month and we never were threatened to be fired. They take customer service very serious unlike this Christmas tree shop were none of the employees smile greet you and there’s no-one on the floor to assist if you have a question. I strongly suggest you further investigate that location because they falsely advertise customer service and treat seasonal workers like crap.

Any chance on opening a Christmas Tree Shop store in Warner Robins, Georgia? The area is steadily growing. About an hour and a half South of Atlanta, Georgia. This area thrives off of a military base as well as government contracted workers and retirees of the military. Also, there are major universities and hospitals in the Central Georgia area. Please consider opening a store in this area.
Thank you.
