Blue Bell Creameries was founded in 1907 as The Brenham Creamery Company. The creamery purchased extra cream from dairy farmers and sell butter. In 1911 the company began to produce ice cream, making only 2 gallons a day and delivering it via a horse-drawn cart.

The company was renamed Blue Bell in 1930 after the Texas Bluebell, a wildflower native to Texas.

By the 1960’s the company concentrated solely on the production of ice cream.

In 1980 Blue Bell was producing over 10 million gallons of ice cream per day and had $30 million in sales.

The ice-cream licker was later identified as a 17-year-old minor.

This incident prompted several copy cat ice cream lickers, including a man in Louisiana. This prompted some stores to post security guards in front of ice cream freezers.

Today Blue Bell is the third-best-selling ice cream brand in the United States despite only being sold in 23 states.

The corporate office for Blue Bell ice cream is located in Brenham, Texas.

I am very disappointed that I can no longer purchase Blue Bell ice cream. All your Ice cream is made with corn syrup or High Fructose corn syrup. This syrup puts holes in your gut and can cause fatty liver disease. The body can not process this corn syrup. Many of the other brands contain corn syrup too but they have some flavors that are made with sugar. I haven’t found any flavors of Blue Bell that are corn syrup free. I know it is cheaper to use corn syrup but I believe you are loosing a part of your market that like myself is health conscious enough to read labels.

I used to purchase your Banana Split icecream before the recall and I finally found some in Georgia again just recently and it said it was New and was called Banana Split sundae. Unfortunately it is nothing like the old Banana Split. I used to eat it until it was practically gone and now I don’t even want to eat more than 1/4 of a pint anymore. It just doesn’t taste as good as before. Please bring back the old recipe. This new one isn’t that good. Sorry…..

On Monday 09/21/17 I purchased a pint of your Homemade Vanilla From the corner store on Major dr. in Beaumont Texas. My almost 97 year old adopted Mother only eats that kind and wanted some ice cream. So she ate 2 scoops and my dog 1 scoop . within 20 minutes after eating the ice cream they both became violently sick. Y’all need to pull your ice cream from the shelves immediately ! I am going to contact the FDA and anyone else. And if her stomach doesn’t heal by tomorrow I will be contacting lawyers. She almost died on me . I was up for 2 days wondering and worrying if she was going to make it. The stress this product put me through and still is unbelievable and the Pain my elderly adopted mother has been in is inexcusable ! You are poisoning people, AGAIN!!!! I’m expecting an immediate response and for your company to correct your errors with your product.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. What is happening to your company? You do not provide a web site to contact anyone at Blue Bell, and apparently you ignore customer comments.
!) What happened to the Banana Split flavor? Cannot find it anywhere. It is undoubtedly the best banana split ice cream in the market.
    2) I live in Hall Colunty, GA. Your broker/distributor in this area is not very good — I used to be in the consumer products industry, and called on buyers at leading chain stores.
Blue Bell continues to lose facings in local siupermarkets, yet there is always more than one facing for vanilla. The drivers are not taking advantage of pint size sales, and now it’s hard to find pint size Blue Bell, except, of course, for vanilla. I shop at Publix, Kroger, and Ingles, and always tell the store manager to get more Blue Bell. The local store manager said he has tried to gert Blue Bell to deliver more favors, but they ignore all requests. Before Blue Bell was pulled off of the market, I even contacted the local district manager, and he could care less that customers are unable to purchase Blue Bell products. Yes, there are a lot of competitive ice cream products, and it sure doesn’t help when your own distributors/brokers are ineffective. Publix used to be able to special order for me, and they are no longer able to do so because dealing with your local distributor is frustrating.

Apparently, Blue Bell is cutting corners in your ice creams It does not have the rich flavors it use to have, for instance your Peaches and Homemade Vanilla. It does not taste near as good as it use to. Before it tasted like fresh peaches with a rich peach flavor, now it tastes like you used canned peaches which does not give it the same rich flavor. I will not pay the prices it costs now to buy your ice cream other than the Homemade Vanilla. It has the same rich flavor, but your other flavors are not as good, why would you change up the flavors, then charge more monies for your ice cream when y’all use to be the best ice cream out there. I am very disappointed in your ice creams since y’all had to shut your plants down, now you will really loose monies, because there are just as good other brands out there to buy.

We cannot find the Blue Bell Bride’s cake icecream. We have called every store within a twenty mile radius. One manager said that they cannot keep it on the shelf because people are buying it and selling it on the side of the road. A different store’s manager informed us that y’all were no longer stocking it. We are just confused, heartbroken, and out of minutes. Please help our confusion.

I have always like the Blue Bell plain vanilla ice cream. I believe it used to be sold as “Country Vanilla.” It appears that the only way I can buy plain vanilla is in “The Great Divide” container where half is vanilla and half is chocolate.

Is is possible for me to purchase containers of just the plain vanilla ice cream?

I did take a tour of the factory in Brenham, TX and I think but am not sure that this plain vanilla ice cream forms the basis of several other Blue Bell ice cream flavors.

The only thing I do not like about Blue Bell Creamery is that it has always hidden its email address and they only allow phone calls and snail mail to communicate with them, with the exception of this website

    corporateofficehq.com/blue-bell-creameries-corporate-office/#respond

that allows comments but still no email address.

Bought some chocolate chip ice cream at a local Homeland store, while eating ice cream I bit into what I thought was a nice chunk of chocolate chip only it was very hard and wouldn’t melt, I ran the chip under hot water only to find out it was a piece of Brown plastic! So glad I didn’t bite down harder, I might have broken a tooth. I plan on digging through the rest of the half gallon bucket to see if there’s anymore plastic in it. I definitely will not be eating anymore, will have to go to Braums. Who do I talk to about a refund?

I have been a fan of Blue Bell for years, especially of the Strawberries and Homemade Vanilla flavor. I was very excited when we finally got Blue Bell back in stores in North Carolina. However, I am very disappointed in the Strawberries and Homemade Vanilla. It tastes like an ordinary strawberry ice cream with lots of artificial flavoring. Has the recipe been changed, or has someone made a mistake in packaging regular strawberry ice cream in the strawberries and homemade vanilla package?

I think it should be noted that listeria is not that uncommon in our environment. Also, go to the USDA and FDA sites and see the list of products that have been recalled for staph, salmonella, and listeria.

Blue Bell has a long standing reputation of being a good product. They will do a clean up, though there can never be any guarantees that someone can bring something into the plants.

For that matter, a person’s child can bring it into the family kitchen because it is found in soil. Pets can also bring it into the home. Who will you blame then?

Blue Bell does its best, as do many reputable companies, to maintain the integrity of their products. No company wants to harm its consumers. But it can happen at anytime in any grocery store, restaurant, plant or home.

That’s just the reality of life.

In reference to the recall of your Blue Bell ice cream, I have been a consumer of your product for many years. I have often said that your ice cream was as good as what my mother use to make when I was a child. I’m now 61 and have consume several gallons of your ice cream specially your homemade vanilla. As recent as the month of March I purchased and consumed two gallons of Blue Bell ice cream and on April 17 started on another gallon. On several occasions in March, after enjoying a bowl of ice cream I felt a little nauseous and experienced minor abdominal discomfort. I just assume that I ate too much. Since a have asthma, I told my wife that maybe I should lay off ice cream for a while. But on April 17th I decided to buy another gallon. I had one bowl full on April 19th. And now on April 20th a recall of all your products were announced. It’s extremely upsetting to know that I may have been exposed to Listeria monocytogenes after consuming your product. To lose that trust in your product and your company is unforgiving and disappointing.

In your recall announcement, consumers were instructed to return their ice cream for a full refund. To just simply return your product for a full refund is simply not enough! And at this point, a coupon for a year’s worth of ice cream is unacceptable. To be exposed to Listeria monocytogenes and to lose trust in a company that has been around for years warrant some form of compensation other than an apology and a coupon. I know you are heartbroken by this recall and you are doing everything possible to fix the problems at your facilities and I hope you will do everything possible to regain the public’s trust.

    Thank you,

    Simon L. Leigh

Hello, each time I call your location in Delray Beach, FL at 561-495-9338 I get no answer and them the phone just hangs up. I have been trying to reach someone in that office for three days and have been unsuccessful in doing so.

Are there any problems with that phone lines?

    Sincerely,
