Bi-Mart was founded in Yakima, Washington, in 1955. The company is an employee owned chain of department stores across the north west U.S. Bi-Mart has changed hands several times over the years with Pay ‘N Save buying the company in 1976, Thrifty Corporation in 1984, PayLess Drugs in 1990, and Rite Aid in 1996. Endeavour Capital purchased the company in 1997 and sold it to employees in 2004 for $94 million.
Bi-Mart stores are quite diversified in their product line. A typical store offers a pharmacy, power tools, sporting goods, canned and packaged foods, clothing, shoes, housewares, small appliances, and personal care products.
Today, the company has 75 locations in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Like Costco and Sams, Bi-Mart is a membership store, however, unlike the former, Bi-Mart membership fees are a mere $5 per family and there are no annual renewal fees.

Get rid of the annoying and stupid “welcome in” greeting and just say hello like a normal person. I really hate hearing it when I walk in and it makes me want to take my business elsewhere.
Patrica Romero says
Dear Bi-mart,
I have been a customer of yours since you first opened your store in Woodburn, Oregon. I am disappointed in your lack of patriotism and respect for all the men and women who have died for our country for freedom. It saddens me to think you would take the words of our declaration of independence of, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and disregard them. If you are wondering what I am taking about it is your mask requirement. Rather than standing up to a tyrannical governor you would choose to hold onto your all mighty dollar. I am appalled, ashamed, and disheartened by the lack of courage of certain people. I’m sure you are rolling your eyes and saying some old women is saying a lot of nonsense, but if we don’t stand up now over something simple as a mask, which is against the law, we will never stand up when they take our guns and haul us off to prison. You may laugh, but read history how Hitler took over Germany and Mussolini in Italy and Stalin in Russia and Chaves in Venezuela and Castro in Cuba. I know I am no longer welcome in your store even though you are breaking the law according to Title III Reg 28 CFR section 36.104 of the civil rights act as a public accommodation and federal law 28 CFR section 36.202 which prohibits denial of participation from this business and Title III Sections 36.202(a)(b)(c) and 36.203(a)(b)(c) that prohibits you from serving me differently. This is unlawful discrimination. I’m sorry for your ignorance and fear, but greatly saddened that you would dishonor my family’s sacrifice for the freedom of this country. May God open your eyes to the truth, that masks don’t work they are only for control and the government is using you for a pawn to enforce something they know is illegal.
Sincerely,
Patricia Romero

Your pharmacy in Eugene Oregon,on River road,in Bi-Mart is so bad it has screwed up my regular meds refills,so I am forced to go find another pharmacy that does not constantly screw up my meds so badly,I am without my medicine this weekend.I constantly have to get the dumb staff to refill MEDS THAT THE DOCTOR REGULARLY APPROVES FOR ME.—because they are SO DUMB they refuse to refill my meds even though the doctor approved them. They tell me”these pills need doctor’s approval”even though my doctor prescribes them EVERY MONTH!! They can’t follow the doctors’ order! So,I am stuck tonight without my medicine. This is the last time I will put up with this extreme mismanagement.Medicare is enough of a problem I don’t need a pharmacy that refuses to follow doctor’s orders.I looked up the site “Reviews of best pharmacy s in Oregon.”In the long list of best pharmacies Bi-Mart was not at the end,it was not even listed. This is the last time I am using Bi-Mart,I am transferring all my meds orders to a better pharmacy, that can actually do the job,and also not “short my pill amts” of one or two pills regularly. They insist they don’t,but I’m tired of that practice also. I am not miscounting my pills. But always refusing to folIow doctor REGULAR orders TO KEEP REFILLING A MED THE DOCTOR ALWAYS ORDERS,EVERY MONTH is the last straw.I’m sick of this constant idiocy,so I can’t EVEN GET A REFILL because Bi-Mart is so f—— up all the time. Thanks so much.
Me says
Shut up. You sound like a b*tch and I would mess up your meds to make you switch pharmacies too. They’re probably all laughing with glee knowing you’re gone.
Janet Ballantyne says
The way you are ranting, I assume these pills are for depression or anxiety?
The pharmacy can only fill what the doctor orders, so rant at your doctor, instead of the wonderful clerks at BiMart!

Were going to organize a giant protest against bimart in LaPine for allowing a recall governor brown activists to harass us in front of your store. This is unacceptable. They are very rude, ignorant people just spreading hate.

Wanted to inform you that Manager here in The Dalles, Oregon needs to follow the ETHIC plan you have a Company and with me. Your ads on any postings on job finders——needs to respect us and all. Please respect me and any diversity–Why is he trying to cut it to part time? If the ad said “Full time and two departments *Electronics & Housewares * with pay rates @ $ 14.00 to $17.00 an hour for experienced players.” So please correct your Manager at Travis The Dalles, Oregon. He told me when I first applied it was part time– and that is not two positions not being fair….it feels like discrimination and he did not call me and his assistant managers are telling me…he is not coreoperating. On the go ahead and hire…..needs his signature!” Jason—assistant Manager. Fix your store news and follow Policy’s.
Joe Garcia says
Why does Bi-Mart in The Dalles, Oregon 97058 avoid me for job interview by the Manager and does he know equal opportunity for all? Does he understand he can not avoid me or any Minority? Why did he lie about calling me for a job interview and I waited over a week and went back then interviewed by assistant managers but they seem the same no ethics in the store and THEY did not respond to my ? to why you look more –KKK– rather then diversity in a non-welcoming area and the job position is not a hard one….Electronics. My experience was terrible with no knowledge customers service females and Electronics male…black hair. All Whites. Fix your unethical challenges, no company should strive for in the USA—-after war this!!

I noticed a sign for help in the Weiser, Idaho store. I called and was told they were not hiring. I went back the next day and the sign was still up. I have already put my app in and been interviewed for the Caldwell Idaho store. I have the Bimart job alert, but Weiser is not on this. I would like to know if the Weiser store is hiring, as I live in Weiser

Still NO comment or reply from Bi-Mart about their ADA shortcomings!
Greg Kotlarz says
As an aging and somewhat physically challenged older American, I am disappointed.
I have, in the past, contacted your corporate offices concerning the accessibility of your Yakima stores. For many older and/or challenged individuals it is hard for a person with disabilities to get into your stores. There are many examples of failure to comply with the 2010 Title ll & lll ADA Requirements. Your entrances require pulling one if not two manually operated doors and then pushing the security gate to get in the store. This can be very difficult for a person using a wheelchair or some form of walking aid when coming into your stores alone. There are no Handicapped accessible restrooms and your drinking fountains, where provided, do not comply with the Dept. of Law & Justice requirements. In addition your parking lot signage and parking stalls do not comply.
Simply because of the good prices and availability of a great variety of products, many older Americans and other folks with limited resources frequent your stores. I mentioned earlier that I have contacted your corporate offices before with these concerns. Your reply was such, that if assistance is needed to enter and access different areas of the stores it would be provided if asked for. This is difficult to do when you are outside of the store! Also, how do you accommodate a person that may need to address personal needs without accessible restrooms? Your reply indicated that it was not your intention of addressing these maters. It would be very unfortunate to have to file a formal complaint to the Dept. of Law & Justice to help correct these conditions. Being self initiating and proactive will benefit your company in dealing with the ADA enforcement bodies. I urge you to obtain an ADA compliance assessment for each of your stores and make the necessary changes to increase the accessibility for all returning and potential members.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Greg W. Kotlarz member # 39987

All you need to do is go into the bimart store and let the person know at the desk you misplaced your card. also, let them know what store you received it in and they will replace it at no charge.

Dear Bi-Mart Executives,
As you are all aware the town of Weiser, Idaho has suffered a very large snow fall. The result of this has left the only grocery store closed because their roof collapsed. All the residence have to drive to Ontario, Oregon for most of their grocery needs. However, for items that are needed inbetween their trips we go to your store in town for items such as, milk, eggs, butter and bread. We are all hoping that the prices stay within a healthy range for us to afford. I have noticed an increase on some of the above mentioned items.
I worked for a very large retail company for the past 40 years and have seen many changes in the retail world. I was the HRIS/Time & Attendance administrator for Fred Meyer and the Kroger Co.
Please do not review or think of this as a compliant. Merely a concern.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
