Saltgrass Steakhouse Corporate Office

Saltgrass Steakhouse was founded in 1991 in Houston, Texas. The original restaurant sits directly on the trail that was used by cattle ranchers when moving their herd across the country to the great saltgrass flats on the Texas Gulf Coast. The Houston Livestock Show still drives cattle directly in front of the original restaurant each year.

Today, the company has about 50 locations across the country and is owned by Landry’s, Inc.  The restaurant chain offers certified Angus beef steaks, topped with a special saltgrass 7 steak sauce, beer bread, cheesecake, and other American cuisine such as grilled chicken and salads. . All locations also offer a full bar and an impressive wine selection. Meal portions are well-known for being “Texas sized”, which means abnormally large and overflowing.

The company was acquired by Landry’s for $75 million in 2002.

In August 2020, in answer to the coronavirus crisis, SaltGrass began delivery service as well as delivery of the same cuts of steak and seafood that clients can cook for themselves.

Saltgrass Steakhouse never freezes the beef it serves, making for a more tasty meal.

Saltgrass Steakhouse maintains a corporate office in Houston, Texas.

Bakers Square Corporate Office

Bakers Square was founded in 1969 in Des Moine, Iowa. Originally named Mrs. C’s, the company became famous for its pies. The company was renamed Bakers Square in 1983.

Today, Bakers Square is a subsidiary of American Blue Ribbon Holdings, LLC. The company has 46 locations, mostly in the upper Midwest. While there was once more than 90 locations in California alone, the decline in the economy in the early 2000’s caused many restaurants to close.

The company still features pies and is direct competition with other pie making restaurants, including Marie Callenders and Coco’s. This restaurant chain offers a casual dining experience and serves American cuisine, including hamburgers, chicken, salads, French fries, steaks, and full breakfasts.

Bakers Square has begun expansion efforts once again, with a new location opening in 2011 in Woodridge, Illinois.

The Peanut Farm Sports Bar Corporate Office

The Peanut Farm Sports Bar was founded in 1958. The original building was made from Scandanavian styled hand cut logs and  crossed the Campbell Creek Bridge. The building officially opened in 1962. The original building has been remodeled a few times, including in 1988 when a new 500 square foot kitchen was added. The Peanut Farm Sports Bar was a subsidiary of the Sourdough Mining Company, but is now independently owned by Mike and Bob Johnson. The latest expansion added a second story, 24 foot ceilings, an 80 foot bar, a heated deck, and pizza kitchen.

The Peanut Farm Sports Bar has numerous large projection and flat screen televisions throughout. In addition to the extensive beer menu, the company also offers wine coolers in the summer months, and serves American cuisine, including burgers, French fries, chicken, and salads, as well as stone-fired pizzas.

Steve’s Ice Cream Corporate Office

Steve’s Ice Cream was founded in 1973 in Somerville, Massachusetts. Steve Herrell first altered a small batch, commercial ice cream freezer and created a creamy, low air ice cream that was unique for its time. Later, he added things such as M&M’s, fruit, or broken up Heath candy bars, another unique concept in its day. Herrell sold the business in 1977 for $80,000. While the company did franchising for a short time, problems arose when the company began selling prepacked ice cream in stores. Many franchisers either lost their business or sold it.

The company was purchased in 2009 by an original Steve’s Ice Cream employee, David Stein. Steve’s Ice Cream now has 3 locations in New York, as well as selling prepackaged ice cream at local stores.
