Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, commonly referred to as simply Allscripts, was originally founded in 1982 under the name Medic Computer Systems by Glen Tullman. The name was changed in 1986 to Allscripts.
The company provides doctors in private practice, hospitals, and similar healthcare providers with practice management and ERH (electronic health record) technology. Allscripts also provides solutions for patient engagement and care coordination, as well as financial and analytics technology.
Currently, the company has more than 180,000 physician users and has solutions in 2,700 participating hospitals, as well as 13,000 extended care organizations.
The company went public on the NASDAQ in 1999 and can be found under the ticker symbol: MDRX
In 2008, the company merged with competitor Misys. In 2010, Allscripts-Misys merged with Eclypsys.
In 2012, founder and CEO Glen Tullman stepped down from his position and left the company. Paul Black took over as CEO of this continually growing company.
In March of 2013, Allscripts acquired dbMotion, a supplier of community health solutions and Jardogs LLC, a patient engagement solution provider.
Allscripts is set to pay nearly $9.75 million to the proposed class to settle claims of securities fraud after the company allegedly overstated its ability to integrate its Microsoft.NET and SQL Server with those of Eclipsys following their $1.3 billion merger.
Company headquarters are located in Chicago, Illinois, with a satellite office in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I keep receiving notices on the patient portal and letters relating to insurance products. Allscripts Healthcare Solutions is soliciting insurance prospects for certain insurance companies. How much is Allscripts receiving for selling patient PHI and what consent does Allscripts have to sell PHI to insurance companies?

I am the Executive Director of a small Free Clinic in Suffolk, VA and we have been on the Allscripts PM system Pro version 14 since 2014. We recently added the PayerPath system to enable us to bill for Medicaid patients in March 2019. Prior to this time all our services provided were free of charge to our patients and billing was not necessary. During our training process, we learned that we were scheduled to be upgraded to version 16 at some undetermined point in 2019. We were told to sit tight and wait for more information and timing for the conversion. We ere just notified via email on Wednesday July 24th that our conversion would take place over the coming weekend on July 28th. SERIOUSLY, A WHOLE 3 WORK DAYS BEFORE THE CONVERSION, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
This is how Allscripts works with there long term valued customers ???
They could not afford to make a call several weeks ahaead of time to alert the customer of an important upgrade … SHAME ON ALLSCRIPTS – rating 0 out of 10… Chet Hart

Dear Allscripts, I keep getting billed for a product I do not use. I need this bill to be corrected asap. It is infuriating that Allscripts which we allegedly ” bought” continues to bill us and we do not use the product. I need to speak with someone about this matter. Essentially, we bought a product under the understanding that it had a fixed price ( Myway ) then we were promised the continuation of this product under Allscripts . That did not happen , we did not get what we were promised and we are still getting bills.
There is no one who is accountable . This product cost our business time and money and we did not receive the benefit promised.I need to be contacted 631 377 XXXX
