Ellen G. White, the founder of the 7th Day Adventist Church, gave her church in Battle Creek, Michigan, the task of building a hospital, called the Western Health Reform Institute.
Over the years, other “sanitariums” as they were called, were constructed. In 1983, the company rebranded itself as AdventHealth.
AdventHealth is “extending the healing ministry of Christ”. It adheres to a faith-based model called CREATION Health.
AdventHealth currently operates 45 hospitals with more than 8,200 licensed beds in nine states, 15 skilled nursing facilities, and 36 urgent care locations; serves more than five million patients annually in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room visits; and employs more than 80,000 people.
In May 2020, due to the coronavirus, AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida, received millions of dollars in federal aid.
In June 2020, the company purchased 22 acres in Tampa, Florida, to build another hospital and medical offices.
AdventHealth maintains a corporate office in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Wednesday December 14th have called at least 6 since nine o’o’clock this morning and never been able to talk to a person just leave your name and phone number and they will call you back. 4 o’clock and still no call back but we’re next in line. I guess they must have no team members working

Advent health is impossible to deal with and extremely dishonest when it comes to billing. I was seeing a doctor for well over a year who was in network with my insurance company. Without any notice or warning they left the network and charged me for my last visit. Even the doctors office was not informed they were no longer in network. They refuse to admit fault and take responsibility for the charge given that they broke the law by not notifying patients at least 30
Days in advance of Changes in network participation. I have never before dealt with a medical facility as dishonest as Advent Health.

My son was admitted and spent 10 days in ICU following a phychotic event. We were told after he was medically cleared he would need to be transferred to a psychiatric facilty for further treatment. Late afternoon on a Friday we were told he would be released and that they could not find a facility to take him. He was still very sick. In our after care package it explained medications and dosages. There were some changes in his regular medication and prescriptions given to pick up. One of the medications prescribed by Advent doctor was injections of an anti psychotic if he needed to be calmed down. When the syringes were inspected it was found be blood thinner to be administered every 6 hours as needed. When we called to resolve we were told that they do not prescribe injections normally and the pharmacist had made a mistake. We made it clear with a copy of the presciption that it was indeed an injection that was prescribed, just an antipsychotic not a blood thinner. After Advent determined it should have been in tablet form we still have not received the correct prescription.. It is the following Monday and we had an episode and really need it! Charge nurse was contacted to see why we haven’t received it and had to go through the whole misunderstanding again. We were told he was released from there care and we would have to consult his regular doctor! It was explained that this is an urgent matter and the person said they would consult with the doctor who is still onsite working. We contacted them at 4.30pm nurse said shift ends at 7pm and would give us a call back. 6.45 pm wife called to follow up and recieved no answer. I called no answer. My son was released and was not well. He was not placed as we were told he had to be once medically released. We had an hour notice of his release in the late afternoon not allowing enough time to get him admitted into facility that evening, that they said was required due to the Baker Act circumstances, then just released him to us? This has to escalate. I would like an immediate response from leadership before we decide what our response is going to be. This not good. Please respond a.s.a.p.

Was this ever resolved? What a nightmare experience. I had a horrible experience with AdventHealth Palm Coast when my sister was taken there.

If you apply for a position in nursing, there is no follow up after the initial interview from anyone. It is extremely unprofessional and unchristian to not communicate as promised.
Whether or not you get an offer, someone should reach out with the decision. It makes the candidate demeaned.

I totally agree with you ????

I feel the hospital needs to have a patient advocate available to review the home situation to make sure the person going home is capable of caring for the sick person and totally understands all instructions ! My Mother ended up back in hospital 8 days later because of all the mistakes that happened , oxygen, nebulizer , was not delivered on time . Issues with her medicine , could not use inhaler for a week because of not being shown how to open etc. All of this is un called for !!!

Advent health is the worst !!! The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.. Their billing department is the worst I have ever dealt with. It is very confusing as you have Advent Health, Advent Health Medical group and the bills come from 2 different places NONE of which ever have the same account number on them. I have been fighting with their billing office since September as everyone I speak with says its not their offices problem !

I m having an awful time with a doctor that submitted 3 blood tests without proper codes to medacare for $350. They are not doing anything to get this resolved. Medacare wants more information from this incapable and abusive doctor he has done nothing.

Two years ago I gave birth to my son Sebastian in your Ocala FL location. I received a grey fuzzy blanket with your logo on it. Which has turned out to be his favorite blanket. He takes it everywhere. We have missed placed it. Please help me find another one. Help me be his hero. I have contacted the Ocala location and was informed that they no longer carry it. I’m begging you to help. He ask for it daily and multiple times a day!! Thank you for taking the time to read this.

We are considering moving to Lakeland, Fl. Can you tell me why Lakeland has no Advent Health Multi-Specialty Center, to address the various needs of the residents there? We are patients with Advent Health, and currently go to the Wesley Chapel location for tests/surgeries. I see lakeland has plenty OB/GYN locations in the area, but outside of an Advent Health urgent care facility, this doesn’t address other specific and various health needs people have. This is critical. The ONLY “hospital” is Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, and it was given 2.5 stars. Not at all comforting, nor is it good! Lakeland can do better than this, so why isn’t it? It needs a great hospital to take care of its people, such as an Advent Health Mulit-Specialty center. Please advise. Thank you.
