Good Afternoon,
I want to alert you to what I believe is a Scam in which on Monday June 26th my 32 year old son was contacted by “Eric Miles” on LinkedIn and was subsequently interviewed just hours later in a Teams Meeting. Oddly, he never appeared on camera nor audio, instead conducting the interview through text only.
The half hour interview concluded. 30 minutes later he was told he was hired at $28/ hour with full benefits etc.
Today a check was sent in the amount of over $3800 explained as a signing bonus and start up fees.
The check was clearly fake and accompanied by a letter of instructions in broken English.
I don’t know if this gentlemen is an actual employee of AMD, but someone is posing as him:
My son has reached out to Robert Gama, but I wanted to potentially expedite this directly through your department.
Meanwhile, you can imagine the crushing feeling that comes with excitement of being hired by a World Class organization like yours, to finding out you have become a victim of Scam.
