The company’s main products include motherboard chipsets, microprocessors, graphic processors, and embedded processors for computers, workstations, and embedded system applications. AMD is the second largest supplier for the X-86-based microprocessors. Only Intel sells more.
AMD acquired competitor ATI in 2006 for $4.3 billion, the company has taken over the market share of Graphics Processing Unit, or GPU. Advanced Micro Devices is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol: AMD.
