I’ve been having problems with my magicjack for over 3 months. It won’t work. I called numerous times and after a troubleshoot with the sales department it works one time and then disconnects again. I was told if I need a live person to help I have to pay extra money for that and if I want it to work I have to pay 40 dollars to purchase the new equipment. All they try to do is upsell you. The worst part is that there agents are all in the Philippines and are all trained to follow a script without deviation. Even their supervisors are useless. They are not willing to help and keep repeating the same thing. They just frustrate you more because they are so rude. As other people’s comment, you spend hours on the phone and you don’t get help. It’s a shame that companies like this have no idea what customer service is. I’m about to cancel my subscription and report them to the BBB.

I needed help and had extreme mount of difficulty to talk to someone about an issue. When I finally did get someone on my cell phone the call was dropped and the call was never returned. I am now stuck with a phone that is unusable in which I just paid a five year subscription. I spent a whole exasperating day trying to resolve a problem. I paid one dollar refundable for tech support. I did this in the past and had satisfactory results. This time I was slid into a tech support called “Just Answer” so smoothly that I thought it was Magic Jack. I see this same Support Group popping up on this site. They want to charge me $46 per month for professional services if I don’t cancel it before the the 20th of this month. There was no observable place to cancel. Somehow it was connected to the “refundable $1”. Where are the safety measures on the Magic Jack sites.? There also some mention of a $39 charge. My wife likes the idea of having an extra phone, but I am ready to drop the service altogether and ask for a refund. Where do I go for a refund if my problem is not resolved? Or is this an unapproachable Magic Jack thing too?

I’ve been having numerous problems with them for the past months. I can’t get anyone in person to help me unless I pay extra money. I don’t understand what company charges their customers extra money for having live tech support. What frustrated me is that every time I call, my call is answered in the Philippines where even their supervisors are rude and are not willing to help in any way. I really don’t think they care much about customer service. I’m about to cancel mine too. The number for billing for refunds is 8448662442.

One of YOUR customers is trying to run a credit card scam on people. When I called to report it they would NOT connect me to a fraud department or take a report .I will be reporting this to the BBB. Number they call from (818-627-2083) ID 7487748475.Magicjack should held accountable for allowing this when they have been informed of their costumers doing this.

I desparately need help. So far for over a month I’ve been dealing with your Customer Service to port my telephone number from Magic Jack To a cellphone provider.
Among the messages I have received are
The number 860-859-XXXX has been ported.
Account Number 51245596 has been closed.
Your problem has been escalated. Call 844-866-2442, choose option 2 and ask for “ARD”
When the cellphone provider called to port my number using Account # and Password, message was no account.
Is there anyway short of a miracle that we can get my number 860-859-XXXX ported to my cell phone?

This is utterly insane!! I called magic jack to make sure that they could ship to an APO address. They said they could so I ordered it. Low and behold they don’t ship to APOs and the package is stuck at a DHL warehouse in Germany. DHL won’t send it back until the merchant requests it and I’ve been trying to reach magic jack for 2 weeks now!! I call and have sat on hold for 22, 37 and today 49 minutes and FINALLY get someone on the line that says I need to speak to billing, transfers me to billing and every single time (13 times) the call was dropped at exactly 51 minutes of being on hold!! This is crazy! It’s been almost 4 weeks since my order, I want this canceled and I never want anything to do with this scam of a company again but I can’t even cancel them!! Every corporate number listed online is not a valid number. I want my money back now.

The company recently merged with VocalTec, which is an Israeli company. We did find an updated phone number, however. Thanks for letting us know about the site being out of date.

Agggh. They are the very worst. I just purchase a devise from them that clearly costs $39.99 and am being charged 55 and after purchase got a message that it would not be operative during the sale period because I used a debit card instead of credit. This was not on the website where the item is advertised.
I went back to check, by going through all the steps of purchase to see if there were any notes about this and there weren’t. I continued to the point of REVIEW YOU PURCHASE, clicked on that to see if there was anything there and by when I clicked REVIEW they charged for FOR ANOTHER ONE. I was on call waiting for over 3 hours and nobody picked up. They now have a call back option so you don’t have to wait, so I tried that at about 3 in the afternoon. I got a call back at 6 in the morning while I was asleep. The worst, the worst, the worst.

I am V E R Y disappointed and upset. The situation is a bit complicated for a short note. Briefly, I added a second number and wanted it ported to Spectrum.
Had what the first person I talked to told me been right, there would have been no problem. It wasn’t. Since then, every person I talked to at mj has given me a different story. I have been trying since early May to port that number.
Based on my experience, I’d say that no one there could find their ass with both hands and a flashlight!
For details call me 985-400-XXXX (my mj number.)

I just renewed my number and magicjack service for two years and completing a five service (expires 6/16/19) and never received any updates to the device not one time. Every since I paid for my renewal all my calls has been breaking up real bad or the party on the other end cannot hear me, I can hear them clearly, however they cannot hear me. The problem is not with my internet provider because it has been checked and magicjack seems to be the only problem that I am having. Your packing does not state anything about it only last almost five years, yet now your representative says I have to buy a new one. As a consumer of electronic devices for many years I have never seem any devices that does not automatically update. Can you please me what I need to do in order to be able to talk to my caller without breaking up and having to keep moving from one spot to another or having to hold the phone a certain way and so they they can hear my entire conversation. If there is no way for that to happen, please refund my credit card for the entire two year plan that I paid for and terminate my contract on 6/16/19 at the end of my five year one.
Should you you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (MJ) 313 355-XXXX or (c) 313 408-XXXX (leave a message and a return number, if I am not able to answer) or write me at XXXXX Fairfield St., Detroit, MI 48238.
FYI: The number you have listed on your website 972 970-3888 is no good, no matter what time of the day you call it and if you allow to repeat the message the automated message is that it is no longer a working number. Neither is the email magicjack.com/contact.html

I renewed my magic jack number in December. This is mid-April and it is still not working since the renewal. I have called and called, starting at the beginning EVERYTIME! This is ridiculous! Who has time for this? As hard as they’ve tried after 6 calls an hour each time, they’re still unable to resolve the issue, even after escalating the issue with tech department. Laughable if I weren’t losing contacts that can’t call the number on my cards I gave them. Shame on them!

Have an old majicJack PLUS that is now totally dead.
I am an 81 year old disabled vet, and oddly, have a fiber optic internet service, but NO other phone service for 911, eg, except for the now disfunctional majicJack plus. Every time I try to use chat,( as I have no phone) I get a total run around, numerous sales pitches, and NO help ordering a new PLUS device. I live way out, and need a working majicJack in case I need 911. What must one do to get help from this company? Thank you, MM Krupp
Terry L McRoberts says
I have been using Magic Jack for years. I bought your newest version 6 months ago, but did not try to use it until my Magic Jack Plus went dead on me a short time ago. I could not get the new one registered after a number of calls to your assistants, and even with their help I could not get it registered. I had to go back to the phone company because of this, and I am not happy about it. Sincerely, Terry McRoberts
