I was charged for Discovery plus and I did not order it. I found this charge on my account I went and canceled the membership and asked for a refund. I was told we can’t do anything for you after I was on chat for over a half hour.
The background music is way to loud and I’m constantly straing to hear the dialouge. No, I don’t have a hearing issue. Damn guys, in researching this issue, it appears that you have had multiple complaints. I’m watching Oxygen now for my true crime shows. Turn down the background music!

I wish I could offer compliments and thanks for the great programming titles you bring to my cable package but unfortunately, choices made by someone in your organization have all but ruined the viewing experience of anything presented by Discovery networks. Your shows have taken the liberty to saturate the screen with channel ID bugs, hash tags, promotional pop-ups, and assorted animations and other text to the extent of ruining the viewing experience.
Just because you can do something like this doesn’t mean you should. You should be well aware that these relentless distractions are not wanted. They are an obnoxious, irritating, and indeed, infuriating distraction. If you are so proud of these various graphics, please add them to your sponsor’s commercials and see if they approve…
What you are engaging in is a form of customer abuse. While these shows are commercial sponsored, we cable customers are directly paying for the package that supplies your programming. Every commercial break gives you the chance to advertise upcoming shows, new shows and other offerings you have. Turning the entire program into a vehicle for yet more promotion is a cheap, unprofessional stunt unworthy of your position.
I have experience in video production, so I know that the producers and other professionals making these shows work very hard to consider the framing and content of each shot, the timing of the editing, and the very focus of every segment. I can’t imagine that they appreciate the plastering of these animations and graphics all over their work without any discipline. I shouldn’t have to point out how very wrong it is, but apparently someone has to. Customers have complained about this for far too long for you to be unaware. It is hard to believe that you have so much disrespect for your own work and your customers as to so cheapen every offering.
Another insulting aspect of this is that if we cannot watch the very show we have turned on without these adolescent antics, why would we care to watch what is being shilled with the graphics? You are basically admitting that you aren’t satisfied that we are currently watching! This is not some “sharing of information we might appreciate”. The very next commercial break gives you a chance for that.
You should be the quality leader in your field. Instead, you are working to simply be the leader in vandalizing your own content. We viewers can next ask your sponsors to influence you to do the right thing…we can ask the cable provider to simply drop the Discovery related channels from the lineup. We can also just stop watching…the question is, do you want us to watch and do you really have any genuine respect for viewers and your producers?
I have ceased to watch many of your shows because I can’t tolerate the childish distractions any longer. I thought the terrible “Shark Week” animation of a year or two ago was outrageous enough, but you have constantly tested us with even more intrusive graphics with almost every new show concept…the Brady House promotions and other campaigns have taken you to a new low point in terms of customer/viewer disregard.
With the Discovery+ messaging ruining every single show you have, you have managed to outdo your most outrageous behavior. If this issue is something you cannot stop, then I feel sorry for you. You deserve no viewership, no loyalty, and every sort of resentment, complaint and epithet possible in social media. At this point, this is the real advertising you deserve.
I implore you to consider being a real quality programming leader and cease the distracting use of the overlay graphics. Let us watch the shows we and your sponsors have paid for in an unadulterated, professionally presented fashion. Advertise when you should and only where you should.

The Discovery Channel is not the company I thought it was. Its amazing how your company has grown to be when they treat people, including people who work for them, the way they do. It’s so sad that’s what sales in the world, the dirty nasty, no respect for anything or anyone, to get what they want. Honesty and trust have been extinct for years . Is there anything or anyone real or legit at all? One person is at least and that’s me. With that being said this is for everyone considering about working for the Discovery Channel, in whatever way that may be, my advice is don’t. Why help them when they won’t help you, when they’re getting rich off you? My fiance is affiliated with them. Hes a zoologist and sold his research to them. They’ll make a lot of money off it in years to come. While working, my fiance ran into a situation, its irrelevant on the situation, and needed help. Discovery Channel said they would help, they wanted to help but that was a lie. He hasn’t heard a word from them since. Their feet have been dragging close to year and still no help. My fiance is still waiting for and needs help. You need to ask yourself, “is this a company I want to work for?” Everything you stand for including your shows are going downhill real quick real fast. Previously a fan, supporter of the Discovery Channel, I can now say I’m no longer not.

I would like to know why when you dial 240-662-2000 it says press “0” for operator – guess what, it hangs up on you.
Next. Does TLC and other Discovery channels think that people are really stupid. You play and play and play and replay shows on a single day that are exactly the same episodes of the previous days and weeks. You consistently say that the show is new (wrong answer) so many of the shows on TLC are nothing but repeats. Say Yes to the Dress, (both Atlanta and NY) 600 lb life, Four Weddings, Untold Stories of the ER – all episodes. Why is there a need for such repetition that runs the same shows both day and night every day. Last I checked TLC meant (The Learning Channel). What am I learning – brides are nuts, overweight people all cry about the same thing, 90 Day Fiance’ both coming and now going with morons who have no clue about life.? It would be highly appreciated if TLC really showed me “Learning” for what the word means. Dr. Pimple Popper for example really does show the difference between various skin problems and the possible dangers of certain types of cysts. When TLC first started it was a good station but now……. Puleeze.

Out Daughtered – good show but why show all the episodes from the previous seasons just to see the newest?
Kate and Date – who wants to see the most self-centered moron out there. She cares about no one but getting money.
Sweet Home Sextuplets – same comment as Out Daughtered .
600 lb life – 7 episodes of whiny overweight people who do nothing for themselves.
That’s it for now – wonder if you will actually respond to this and now I have seen some of the shows on a different Discovery channel but nothing but repeats. Let’s get some new programming for people to watch who do not live in W. VA.

I just wanted to say that I am seriously upset about the eStore customer service, where they sell merchandise for the Discovery Channel like Shark Week stuff, I’ve been wanting to purchase some Shark Week shirts and your Discovery online store has them but the problem is you have no customer service for the online store I called the phone number that is provided for the customer service and they said they no longer work for Discovery they are no longer contracted with them and there should be a different company, I also did the email that was provided for customer service and the same thing, this is extremely upsetting and I’m not going to stop until I get to the bottom of this, because this is ridiculous for Discovery Channel I hot hold Discovery Channel in high regard and I am a big fan especially if Shark Week I just cannot believe that there is no customer service or you guys don’t have customer service listed, that is a correct contact that is, you guys need to fix your customer service and I would really appreciate it if somebody would get back to my 15 emails that I have sent, if somebody has a problem with the product how are they supposed to get ahold of customer service, do you guys just steal their money?? Mockumentaries should be clearly labeled as such, at least at the end ie, this has been a mockumentary. Your programming has always been educational and informative and now you slip these mockumentaries in here and there and it’s very confusing for kids and many adults. I’ve actually heard people talking about mermaids like they’re real and wanting to respect their territories. It’s unnerving that kids (or anybody) can’t just watch discovery now and assume what they see is true. It’s like you’re distributing textbooks with a bunch of bull skipped in them just for fun. What are your vision and mission statements? Your credibility is lost.
Love discovery I.D. but have a problem with your background piano music. Where did that piano come from? It wasn’t always there and wish it wasn’t. Half the time it’s so loud, I can’t hear what the people are saying. Especially on the shows where people are telling their stories. Can you get rid of the background piano.?Sure would appreciate it. The walking dead alpha trailer trailer and face reveal advertisement was aired approximately 7:45 pm MST. My 8 and 9 year old daughters saw it. Unbelievable this was aired during times children may be watching TV. I prides my self on watching good TV so my kids are not exposed to crap like this. I have even watched shows on Discovery that are not interesting because it is reasonable for my kids. Well not anymore. Thanks for the nightmares that my kids will have. Dear Discovery Team, I am in search of a doXXXXentary you aired on August 02, 1993 titled, “Ocean Mysteries- Fury in the Abyss.” It is a wonderful presentation that shows, animates, and explains the geologic and biological activities occurring at the mid-ocean ridges (black smokers, gray crabs, tube worms, etc), as well as how the mid-ocean ridges were discovered and the ongoing processes that created and sustains them. The Woods Hole Scientists with the DSV Alvin are also featured in this episode. I’ve been on a mission to find that video but to no avail! I’d like to present it to the students in my 8th grade Science classes as part of their lessons on Sea-floor spreading and plate tectonics. I absolutely Love the show Alaskan Bush People, but don’t have cable TV. I usually buy the seasons on Amazon Instant Video; but this year, Season 7 Episode 1 is not listed in the typical 24 hour after airing time frame. Tried to call Discovery Corporate to get information how I can purchase/ view and apparently that isn’t a service Discovery offers. Bizarre, if you ask me. You are a for-profit organization, Right?

My household loves your programs on Investigation Discovery however, we find the background music/sound effects to be so exceptionally loud now that we can’t hear the dialogue and can’t continue to watch the programs. Other people we know have stopped watching “ID” altogether for that very reason. The increased volume on commercials is also quite annoying and should be dealt with.
The background music on Killing fields is so loud you can hardly ever hear what they are saying. It’s a great show but very hard to follow without being able to hear what’s going on due to the over powering background music.

My family has watched every episode in real time of Deadliest Catch. Never had missed even one. I have laughed and cried more than once. The thing we have been most excited about and had many talks is Josh becoming a great Captain or losing it all. Our bet was making it big. Whoever adds the sound effects to Bearing Sea Gold needs to do their research first or hire someone that is an expect in wildlife before adding wildlife sounds. Newest episode (ice) has Swans flying over with Goose sounds. You don’t have to be an expert to notice this. Takes away from the authenticity of the show and I’m a big fan.
I’ve been watching Misfit Garage and I find some of the personalities very unlikable.Namely this Klump child and the rude abrasive Thomas. I’m not looking forward to any new episodes.

My favorite channel is AHC….there is some pretty good programming here, and the exposes on historical issues are just great and eye popping and you do a great public service to release this information because its not written in the history books.. However, the constant black and white shows about Hitler are too much….nobody wants to hear about WWII and Hitler stuff anymore. In fact, I just simply turn the channel when this is on….and its on way too much.
If you are into WWII issues, why not explore the disappearance of aviator Amelia Earhart prior to WWII in the Pacific area. I am a history buff, and recently picked up a brand new book about this, “Amelia Earhart, The Truth At Last”. In a nutshell, her plane went down in the islands and she was captured by the Japanese and executed on Saipan prior to the war starting. After the war, US Marines found her plane in a hangar on Saipan and was given orders by the White House to destroy it. This book is heavily doXXXXented and footnoted thanks to the Freedom of Information Act. Plenty of eyewitness testimonies. This story, based on this new book, would make a great episode on AHC!!
I love your station. I especially Dual Survivor, Naked and Afraid, but wondering if you ever considered ‘Fats Guys in the Woods. I accidentally found it on “Weather Channel” and I never missed an episode. I believe it would be a terrific program for Discovery. The survivalist “teacher” was Creek Stewart. He would have three guys ,who were interested in getting back to or getting into surviving anywhere. Each week were different guys and he would take them to the mountains, desert, everglades etc. He would teach them how to build a shelter in each area and how to make a fire (with bolo, tampon and ash, water bottle, battery etc. He would show them how to hunt for food in the areas. Then on the last day/night he would send them out on their own to build their own shelter. Very interesting and informative. Loved it. wish I had found it sooner and that it were still on.

Hello! I’m from Bangladesh and i am a regular viewer of your channel. My favourite show is ‘Man Vs. Wild’ which is performed by my hero Bear Grylls. Bear have done many episodes by going different places . So i want him to come to our Bangladesh as we have ‘Sundarbans full of nature,mangrove forest, Bay of Bengal, many hill tracks . I think you all and Bear would love all this. So if possible visit our country Bangladesh.

Your background music overpowers the “Alaskan Bush People” show so much that it is impossible to follow what they have said. I hope you will correct this for this new season as people were genuinely waiting for them to come back to reveal the story on the health of the father. I know many that have now given up and switched to other channels because by the end of the show you don’t know what was said anyway. Why have music in the background at all! There are plenty of musicals to tune in if that is someones preference!
I have stopped viewing shows because the background music is so loud I can not understand what is being said and the music has nothing to due with the subject. I am sure you are loosing viewers. It is a Shame. The science channel WAS my most watched TV station. NOT NOW do to the loud music. I watch movies or CNN instead. Just Think of all the KIDS that COULD LEARN SOMETHING REAL and now can not.
What ever dimwit ever came up with this format needs an invitation to find another job. You MUST be loosing market share. Dhaaa.

I cant help but wonder if the staff watches the shows on discovery channel, because they have raised the background music/ noise to a level that you have a very hard time understanding the dialogue, I do hope they change that so I can once again enjoy discovery shows.
I have a great idea for a new show in a channel.

I am sorry to see that you are removing the H2 channel and incorporating its programming into the History Channel. H2 had such wonderful programming…so many series. I often watch H2 when I can’t find anything I want to see on the multitude of other channels I pay for on Cox Cable. I am afraid you will abandon the programming from H2. There have been so many lost channels: Planet Green, Military Channel are the two most recent I can remember. I subscribe to all the channels I can under the Discovery Communications umbrella that Cox Communications offers. I love Alaskan Bush People, Alaska The Last Frontier, ID Discovery, A&E, Animal Planet and some shows on History. Discovery Life used to offer shows no longer available, Like Dr. G.
I enjoyed the episodes of “Airplane Repo” very much and am very disappointed it is no longer seen on TV. Are there any plans to bring back this show in the coming new year? Thanks Terry Wood

My family enjoys Alaskan Bush Peoples adventures tremendously. When I came across a scarf with Snowbird on it I immediately thought of the show. Should Snowbird be interested in receiving the scarf I will be glad to mail it. The scarf measures 21.5″ square. Each corner has snowcapped mountains. The border is multi-colored abstract skis that could be interpreted as rifles. One corner has Snowbird in black cursive lettering.

I was very happy to find the Scrabble Sprint game on the Hub Network and as I continued to play this game I discovered that the ‘score keeper” is malfunctioning and not keeping the correct tally of the points. I used my calculator several times to add the points and in each game there were discrepancies, and not in my favor.
