1/4/2022 – Called Torchy’s Taco in Allen (1008 West Mcdermott) to enquire about visiting the restaurant this Saturday 1/8/2022 for a VERY special birthday.
Positive – A few years back..I did the same as today and spoke with a female manager who was absolutely INCREDIBLY delightful and professional and SHE is the very reason I came back again. You see, my friend and I LOVE Torchy’s and only come to this location as it is convenient and we know the staff or at least I thought I did. We have NEVER had bad food or a bad experience and it HAS always been worth the value paid.
My friend doesn’t live in Texas and doesn’t have a Torchy’s in his state or city so being able to take him to this location (on HIS birthday) is very important plus we don’t have the opportunity to get together that often due to schedules and distance and COVID hasn’t helped.
Needless to say- (To make sure everything is completely awesome for my friend’s birthday) I called at 12:14 on Tuesday 1/4/2022 (in advance as this is a big deal to me). I spoke with Jack (I believe was his name) he said he would switch me to the manager. The manager was Larry who then answered the phone (no hello, no greeting nothing) just…This is Larry. I told him what I wanted to do and he didn’t hesitate to say. “I need to take this other call” He then put me on hold and I was there for 36 Minutes. (12:14-12:51) *36 MINUTES*
Obviously, I stayed on as long as I could but hung up and just assumed it was a fluke or that they are crazy busy. Doesn’t hurt to think the positive when possible right?
I called back and got Jack AGAIN (I believe was his name.) I told him that I was previously speaking with the Manager Larry and that he had put me on hold and he just interrupted me and said. “I will get him”. This was at 12:52. I was put on hold AGAIN till 1:23 for the SECOND time for over 30 minutes.
Facts are.
1) I was calling to set things up for my friend’s birthday (5 days in advance).
2) I asked to speak directly with a manager and did not complain once yet praised the location fully. There are enough complainers in the world and I am not one of them.
3) The manager (Larry) did not greet me or treat me and my time with respect in any fashion.
4) The manager (Larry) but me on hold for 36 minutes.
5) I was not disconnected-The call wasn’t dropped. He just didn’t care to return and I knew that something was up when I caught his initial tone at the beginning of the call.
6) I called immediately back (giving the benefit of the doubt) and was put on hold YET AGAIN for 31 minutes.
7) In total today I lost, (wasted) over an hour’s worth of my time that I can’t get back or regain and time is money. After all, how much money can Torchy’s lose or make in one hour?
8) All I wanted to do was set something up for my friend’s birthday which comes once a year…That’s all
Negative – My perception? 2022 is off to a GREAT START with this location. I am offended, discouraged and that is why I am posting this. Will I go to Torchy’s? VERY DOUBTFUL and I don’t know if I should.
Why would I entertain an establishment who doesn’t respect the customer or the customers time? I am also posting this so that any Yelp readers will know IN ADVANCE to be cautious.

I have always been a KIND hardworking person and today at Torchy’s in Rogers AR I received attitude I never have from a “Boss”. I worked in dish, and yes I curse I always have especially everyone in the whole restaurant including the Managers curse all day everyday in more than one language as well!. Anyway, I am sometimes quiet and today I was so I tried getting outta my head and conversed while I worked cause someone was talking to me and I didn’t wanna be rude and ignore. So all I said to the person conversing to me in Dish was about old Chicago pizza, I said the F word twice just talking about how bad the food was and BRIAN FAUERBACH literally gave me complete attitude about it meanwhile many other are cursing away in the background but he didn’t care about them just me. While he gave me Horrible attitude he tried telling me I was giving him an attitude because I wasn’t staying quiet while he was telling me (in a bad manner and looking at me like im crap) “All that comes outta your mouth is the F bomb” I told him with out attitude at all I have always cursed growing up but I just said it twice in the conversation about the pizza place and every person working there and yes Managers like I said up top curse everyday. I cracked from his horrible random attitude towards me and cried, just cried while I worked and cause of the tears I had many people ask what was wrong but I just told 3 people outta half the employees who aske me what happened. So because he heard me not ignore at least 3 and told them whats up he told me to go home for the day because I was crying as he said it carelessly with more attitude. I said “ok I will if you want me to but just letting you know that there are many people cursing right now so just letting you know”. He said ” I don’t care about them I’m just getting rid of you right now”. Surprised by how much more attitude he was giving I just said “I was just letting you know everyone is cursing because you had a problem with hearing me say the F word in Dish about pizza” and than the go home for the day since you keep crying went to “you know what, lets end this now and Part ways” meaning he fired me cause he just felt like it. I understand if someone Actually messes up and does wrong but to be Fired just because he doesn’t favorite someone cause he heard them talking meanwhile every other employee I hear in saying the B word and many others on repeat even in front of him. I actually really liked working for Torchy’s and would have stayed for the long haul but I’m leaving this here for any future employees that may get shoved in the wrong-receive attitude than get fired. I don’t believe Brian Fauerbach is in any way in the position to be a “Manager”. Everyone is there to make money and get along with eachother even if you have a problem with someone you should still treat them with respect.

Put yourself in my position. It’s 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and my family & I had not eaten ALL day. It’s pouring down rain and we got soaked getting into Torchy’s . Now we’re inside and in line. there are 3 of us, 6 people in front of us an another 8 people came in behind us. That’s 17 people needing to place a food order. There is 1 guy at the counter taking orders ??? Server number 1313 has one speed and it’s SLOW. So we finally get to the counter and he chose to answer the phone and take a (take out) order before acknowledging us at all. Then while he is on the phone someone comes to pick up a take out order so he gets off the phone and takes care of them? Then another lady walks in to pick up her take out order and he chooses to process her. Before he finishes her a GrubHub driver walks in and I could tell the driver & server #1313 had a friendly “HEY MAN, what’s up connection”. We still haven’t placed our damn order and there is still ONLY good ole server # 1313 at the counter ! What the HELL ? So at this point I firmly told him he needed to get over here and take our order plus we came in BEFORE ALL of those other people he chose to wait on. He looked at me like I was an A-HOLE and his lack of caring attitude reflected just that. So we finally placed our order and at the end I asked him what he was going to do to make this somewhat right ? Maybe comp our drinks or queso or something ??? I told him my time had been wasted, what he had done was not right and my time was valuable too. He smirked (NOT SMILED) and said ” NO I CAN”T DO THAT”. Well that was a FU moment if I’ve experienced one. Once we got to the table it was dirty and we had to clean it ourselves. We watched the bartender SNEEZE twice while preparing drinks and made no effort to cover his face and then wiped his facial hair with his hand and continued to prepare some unsuspecting customers drinks. WOW REALLY !!! This is at the Richardson, Texas location # 38 on Campbell Rd. Another time at the Allen, Texas location on McDermott I walked in to place a take out order and was told “you CAN”T place a take out order like this you have to CALL it in first” WTF ??? So while standing at the counter I grabbed a menu, called the phone number, watched the same girl answer the phone and began to place my order. She looked straight at me while we were on the phone. We were standing less than 3 feet apart. How ridiculous is that ? There is a laid back, hippie dippy stoner type under culture here and it IS NOT compatible with good & efficient customer service. So the slogan “DAMN GOOD TACOS” might be true but that doesn’t give you the right to treat the paying customer like SH*T folks ! That is the last time Torchy’s will get any of my money. Color me GONE !

Wow what a disgraceful establishment. Do not come here!!! They will not put sauce or salsa on the burrito itself on to go orders even if you ask for it. I was told it was their policy on to go orders??? I was told from a previous order that the store can not see the special instructions part of online orders. I was told to call and tell them what you need. That was a LIE!!! All I wanted was my chipotle ranch on the burrito not on the side? The young lady went on to say its their policy because people complain about the tortilla being soggy? WTF? Are you serious? I advised I would sign a waiver whatever is needed just put it on the burrito, she said she would go back and tell them but not making any promises WOW really? Not only are you unwilling to do what a repeat paying customer asks you make it sound like I am putting you out of your way. I told her if it isn’t on the burrito I would never be back. I get to the store where a sign says pick up orders here. There were 3 lady’s and what appeared to be the manager ALL IGNORED ME, after a few minutes of uncomfortable stares I was finally acknowledged. I should not have been surprised but again I had hoped Torchy’s would do the right thing. Not only did they not put my chipotle ranch on my $11.57 burrito they didn’t even put it on the side. I am certain that was their statement turd, for those unfamiliar it was Torchy’s way of telling me to F@#$ OFF they will do what they want regardless! Absolutely HIDIOUS!!! Not only will I never be back I strongly encourage Oklahoma to boycott this despicable place.

We are longtime Torchy’s customers in Arlington, TX. Our experience on Thursday, August 1 was terrible. We were calling in our to go order. Victor answered, told us he was helping a couple of people in front of us and would be right back. Only Victor never came back. We finally hung up and called again twice. Both times it rang so long it disconnected us. By this time we had arrived at the restaurant. My nephew went in to place our order. When our order came, there was no street corn. Guy said it would take 6-7 minutes to get an order, during which time the rest of our order would be cold, so we took the order without street corn. At home, the meal was not as good as usual. Maybe it was the whole experience. Anyway, this kind of thing has happened a lot lately – people never returning to the phone, buzzer system failing on to go orders, etc.

This is my third attempt at reaching out to the corporate office:
Please get the kinks worked out of your online ordering system or discontinue it! I placed an order today that was never received by this store, although I received a confirmation email and have been charged numerous times. I was charged three times- twice on my debit card and once on my American Express card. My teenager left to pick it up and they had no record of order #210289. I was placed on hold to speak to the manager, who agreed that she would refund my money and call me back to confirm. I am still waiting on that return call. No acknowledgement from the manager of the Burnet Road store. I love your tacos but this is ridiculous; there are PLENTY of other options in Austin. If you promise to reimburse me my $45, I will never set foot in any of your establishments again and/or badmouth you on social media. You have my name, email, phone numbers and any other information needed to contact me.

This is an addendum to a previous message. I was talking to one of my friends, Tracy, before the issue with my son arose and she said that she had bee in the Torchy’s in Edmond, Oklahoma, and the female manager was rude, which there is only one. So she’s also not giving a good impression to your customers.
Marlene Musgrave says
My son worked at the Torchy’s Tacos in Edmond, and after reading the complaints above, it seems that some of the managers at your stores are not the best. He went in before his shift to eat and one of the managers (Kristin) told him he couldn’t come in before his shift in uniform and eat. When he told her that he had done it before and the other managers did not say anything, she said she was going to fire him, and so he quit. From what he’s said, she has threatened him before. He tried to talk to the other manager there, but he was too busy to talk to him apparently. I’m personally thinking about contacting an attorney, because I truly believe her animosity toward my son is because he has passed out at work before and she wanted him fired.

On Sunday 3/4/18 at 10:36 AM we came into the Woodlands, TX location for our weekly breakfast. We come after Church every Sunday for over a year. We ordered 3 breakfast Tacos and ice tea. It was not busy when we came in, no line at all. We placed our order, and got a table. We waited 35 minutes for our tacos. We inquired twice. First time, the server just walked by us after checking, and after we inquired again, he said it wasn’t ready.
There were tables available everywhere so it wasn’t crazy busy. We were very disappointed in our service and with the time we had to wait this week. We come often and were not treated very well. It never got crazy busy it was moderately busy. So don’t know why we were delayed. We thought you would want to know as we do like your to come to your place and never got treated like this before.
Thank you,
Rachael Westergren

I’m writing this note in hopes that someone will fix the problems that are happening in your Houston Spring Steubner store. My daughter works there and comes home every night in tears. I researched your company and it seemed like you care about your employees as well as your customers; knowing this, I urged her to be patient and not to quit as I’m told people do daily but it’s been a while now and nothing has changed for the better, only worsened. I’m not sure what it takes to be a GM but I do know they should be reliable & care for their employees. The way she treats the employees is horrendous. She told my daughter that she had to come in when she was extremely sick or she was fired, because she(GM) refused to come in & help her store. I could go on and on from the awful stories my daughter tells me every night about the pettiness & incompetence of your GM. I contacted the EEOC & was given very helpful information. I do hope this issue will be fixed. Thank you, Mary Edwards.
