21st Century Insurance was founded in 1958 by Louis Foster as an interinsurance exchange for automobile insurance in California. The company’s original name was 20th Century Insurance.
Today, 21st Century Insurance offers various types of insurance in the states of Hawaii and California. Headquarters are in Delaware. The company was acquired first by AIG, then by Farmer’s Insurance in 2009 and operates as a subsidiary.
In addition to auto insurance, 21st Century also provides insurance for mobile homes, flood, motorcycle and ATV, boaters, life, specialty homeowners, auto mechanical breakdown, antique auto, and personal watercraft insurance.
