Mod Pizza was founded by Scott and Ally Svenson. The pair had sold their successful coffee chain, Seattle Coffee Company, to Starbucks in 1998. The couple decided to start their own pizza chain after being unable to find healthy pizzas for their sons.
The pizza chain is known for its individual artesian styled pizzas that cook in only 3 minutes, using an 800-degree oven. There are 9 classic pizzas, a seasonal pizza, “salad” pizza, and regular salads to choose from. The company also offers handmade milkshakes, fountain drinks, and beer.
MOD stands for Made on Demand. In 2015, the company raised $70 million in investment capital to fund an aggressive growth strategy.
In January 2017, the company celebrated the opening of its 200th location.
Forbes listed Mod Pizza as the Fastest Growing Restaurant in America in February 2018.
Headquarters for Mod Pizza are located in Seattle, Washington.
I was writing to give a company heads up and didn’t have to read the comments to see the cracks in MOD’s model, however, it seems a moot point after I have perused them.
The bigger they are the harder they fall.
I went to MOD pizza on vintage park 01/15/2020 around 9pm and the guy who had earring was so rude to us. When we advised him of the type of pizza we wanted he prepared it and tossed it to get it cooked. I then advised him that i wanted add ons and the guy said that we didn’t say anything. So unprofessional because he did not ask us if we wanted to add anything else to our pizza. I’ve visited there before and never had an issue till yesterday.
I have contacted Mod on three occasions with a comeback with an assistant manager. The lack of response is very telling to how they allow their employees to behave. I was emailed that my concern was being shared, but I never heard back. I deserve an apology, and the offer for a free pizza is meaningless to me. Very disappointed. Will not return.
Concern…not comeback🤦🏻♀️
What do they say when you called them
I ate lunch with my husband at the MOD pizza location in Simi Valley, CA for the first time yesterday (Sunday 12/22/2019).
The food was great but my debit card was STOLEN from your employee, Andy (Andres) Valerio from the Simi Valley, CA store yesterday to purchase a case of beer at a nearby liquor store.
He was arrested at the MOD Pizza location in Simi Valley on Sunday December 22, 2019 at approx. 4:13pm. Booking # 2097548, Report # 19-64187
He was booked at approx. 5:13pm and then released at 6:04pm.
Case # 2019041447
Court Date scheduled for February 25.
I spent $29.26 at the Simi Valley location yesterday and I tipped this guy $3.51 (Spent $32.77).
I would at least like to get my tip money back.
I will be going to my bank today to see about getting the $24 back for what Mr. Valerio spend on beer illegally with my debit card.
I hope that your company takes this gentleman’s termination of employment into consideration.
I am very disappointed in the MOD pizza in CaryPark, Cary in N.C. the staff and managers are quitting due to work place arguments and disrespect. Staff are showing up at 8:30 and the managers aren’t showing up to open til 11am to let them in. During that time it is often cold and wet outside. Staff are complaining that they won’t be getting paid for sitting outside for those hours. For showing up on time. They are getting paid. That’s illegal. I consider that a lawsuit waiting to happen.
I was fired for whistleblowing, harassed and berated at my job, I was exploited, treated terribly and tried to talk to my district manager, HR rep, and no one ever listened to my situation.
If you care about employees and “being mod” then why did y’all do nothing for my well being while being employed there?
Might as well close down your HR department if they’re not gonna do anything for the hardworking employees that make Scott his money.
I was bribed by moss to do jobs multiple times and was never given what was promised to me. I was berated in front employees and when I asked him to stop he said “it’s my restaurant, i can say whatever the hell i want”
I have never worked harder at any job.. I gave MOD my everything since the moment I got there. and in the end I was just as replaceable as they made me felt.
Stand true to your core values.
and don’t forget your workers make you money. not managers who stay in BOH all day.
Very rude employee at the Pittsburgh CA location, I’m a delivery person for door dash and your employee is one rude and bad for business
..o will never ever visit this location again…discreption of person, short black women making the pizza maybe some manager or something..but her attitude is unacceptable..I was there around 445 ,5 Pacific standard time.
Very disappointed at the Steel st location very stingy on toppings that don’t cover up the pizza at all see picture below. This location needs help also with employees none seem to like their jobs! Never mind on picture can’t seem to upload one but very disappointing
Several months ago I bought pizzas in Vernon Hills, IL that totalled about $19.00 and gave the cashier a gift card for $30.00. All he said you’re good-no change. My stupidity and his dishonesty. I’ll never buy another Mod pizza.
This is the 4th time I have contacted Mod Pizza about a problem and no one has contacted me back I will no longer go to Mod pizza.
