LearningRX was founded in 2002 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, by Keith Gibson. Franchising began the next year. The company operates a chain of cognitive improvement schools.
The company states that games and puzzles, designed by owner Dr. Ken Gibson, are designed to improve how the brain functions. The company has made many assertations in their marketing campaigns, including that their method can eliminate ADHD, and reverse diseases such as autism and Alzheimer’s. This controversial subject has been called pseudo-science by some, but praised by others in the scientific community.
LearningRX was challenged in court and agreed to stop making such claims unless they had double blind studies to prove their claims. They paid $200,000 of a $4 million fine.
