In the past 24hrs, I’ve placed 3 orders. One order didn’t arrive and was canceled, the other order’s arrival time was changed multiple times, and the final order’s food was incorrect.

I am a frequent patron of Grubhub. Over the past month, service has been an ongoing issue. On each occasion, I contact customer service who issues a credit and forwards the issue to an internal team for review but I’m not seeing any form of improvement. Service continues to be subpar and customer service continues to follow a resolution script which does little to inspire confidence of an improvement with service. I’ve stopped contacting customer service over “little” things like missing items, food arriving cold, food left on my porch instead of knocking on the door, etc. My standards have lowered to: thank gosh the food arrived. Is this how I should feel?

Fix your internal issues and better train your customer service team!

September 13th I placed an order at a restaurant… Grubhub never picked my order up ….. so I called to cancel my order… and the company was very rude no apologies was never given to me… I asked for a refund it’s now September 27th & I still haven’t received my money or credit on grubhub… they keep emailing me saying send my card number so they can refund me but why do I have to keep sending my card information WHY …. just send me my money

You order your food at 544pm it isn’t delivered until 7:10pm driver tells me it wasn’t assigned to her until 20 minuet prior to delivery and also told me that other drivers can see what they are tipped and can refuse orders prior ! Very unethical and the foreign customer service told me drivers are volunteers they don’t get paid I am fed up with paying high dollar for food and treated This way
Will not be ordering from this crap company again

The worst app please delete it if you have it. Delivery drivers are rude. Won’t deliver inside my job. I could not leave to go pick it up outside and he kept my food. Now they have my money and won’t refund my money. Food order was $40. This is my hard earned money!! They are disgusting company will never ever use them again!!! I’m still on the phone with customer service with no result just 50% off my next order that’s not great service. You’re trying to take more of my money!!!

I placed my order with Grubhub at 3:10 pm. The Grubhub app notified me that my order was received at 3:11 pm. At 3:32 pm the Grubhub app notified me that my order was ‘In Work’. At 3:42 pm the Grubhub app notified me that my order would arrive between 4:00 pm and 4:10 pm. At 3:50 pm the Grubhub driver called me and notified me that the restaurant [in question] was closed.

The response to my call to Grubhub customer service was, ‘Sorry for the inconvenience. The good news is that we should be able to return your money to you in 3 to 5 business days’.

At this juncture, I proceeded to share with the customer service rep that the correct reply should have been, ‘My Lee, we are very sorry that you experienced this level of service from Grubhub. Clearly, there is a problem in our system. I can only imagine if you had not brought this to our attention, how many other customers might experience something similar.

I will personally escalate this issue to management. We will work diligently to correct this matter and look at methods to streamline the process regarding timely reimbursement to our customers.

Though, this certainly does not satisfy today’s request for Grubhub to deliver your meal to you on-time and just as you ordered it, we will strive to do better on your next order’.

It is my hopes that Grubhub management understands how to address business issues of this nature, and what the correct response to my correspondence should be.

As for tonight’s meal, I will see how your competitor does with my service request.

It’s hit or miss with this delivery service. I’ve tried DoorDash & Bitesquad and none of them can do it right … the only time things go smoothly is if you order before 6:00pm… I will say I’ve had 100% refund rate , which isn’t ideal if your starving but it is a consolation. If you want your complaints to be heard call the corporate headquarters, the customer service reps are as most of you wrote not able to do a lot if the restaurant doesn’t cooperate. Also, the delivery people can’t check to see if your order is all there but the restaurant people can. So delivery people should be trained to ask restaurant personnel to check off order…. there’s a lot of details the restaurant in a rush to get the delivery person gone doesn’t bother to double check….so it’s a twofold issue …. the delivery Company CEOs need to get out there and get first hand look at the situation, then a conversation needs to happen with the restaurant to see what’s making them not effective…I plan to hold all the companies BiteSquad, DoorDash and GrubHub accountable by filing a complaint with our States Attorney General, for the monies they charge for their services they should be doing better for us …..

Horrible customer service this is the 2nd time I have ordered from you guys and had to go without eating due to you not bringing the correct food. When I ask for them to take the item back and bring the correct item I was informed you are not able to do that fine then start checking the orders at the restaurant or start taking responsibility for the problems that occur and fix them. I honestly can say I gave you a 2nd chance and you blew it. I am so frustrated and angry with the customer service and not being able to eat the food brought to me that I am done with this company all togeather. Oh and I will make sure to tell people about the problem in my area. No one should have to deal with such horrible service where the problems are not fixed at all.

I ordered my meal at 7:00 and received a text shortly later saying my meal would arrive at 7:42. It got delayed and did not arrive until 8:20. There was no text telling me it would be delayed. Then after receiving my order I was missing one of my meals so not only was my dinner late we could not eat because one of the meals was missing. I called the restaurant who apologized and said they would have it ready. I called Grubhub and explained what happened after being put on hold with no apology at all he finally came back and said he would refund the meal. I asked if he was able to send someone out to get the missing meal and was told he was not able to at the time and hung up. I finally decided to go get the meal myself so it is now 9:00 and still no dinner. Grubhub was unapologetic and in no way willing to help. I will not be using Grubhub in the future.

When I order from a Grubhub (Italian Kitchen) I order over $40.00 dollars of food. The advertisement reads on the 1st-page states(free pizza with order over 40.00 dollars) I have yet to receive this. What’s the catch? I have spoken the restaurant and they don’t have an answer. Do you?

I got a gift card from a friend after I had surgery for a broken leg which prevented me from getting out or getting around my house to prepare meals. I thought how nice and what a help this will be. Well as I read the other comments and complaints I see I am not alone experiencing the same problems others have. I have tried 3 times to order food and had only 1 successful delivery, a 66% failure rate. After countless calls to their customer service reps who are empowered to do NOTHING, waiting to be transferred to Supervisors who also do nothing, being told a Manager would contact me within 10-15 mins, several times, and never a returned call. So then I tried the live chat, nothing accomplished there either, just like the countless time I have spent on hold and mysteriously having the transaction ended. At first I wanted compensation which I feel I so rightfully deserved then I realized I would only set myself up for more frustration and aggravation. therefore I just asked that my friends total gift card amount be refunded to their original form of payment. They said they needed my gift card code….( they already have that in their system, don’t they). All I have received are “we’re sorry, I apologize, I understand, I’ll do my best” etc. and so far NOTHING has ever been accomplished in the more than 2 combined hours spent on the phone or live chat. I don’t know how this company has stayed in business. Like others in this comment section, obviously no one reads these complaints/service failures to take any steps to remedy anything. I just want to break all ties with Grub Hub. I have had nothing but FRUSTRATION and AGGRAVATION, not to mention all the heartburn, not from food I received, but from all of the above. I will try Door Dash, I figure it couldn’t be any worse than what I and many others have experienced with Grub Hub…..It should be called FLUB HUB !!!!!!!
Everyone, do yourself a favor and DON’T even think of using this service.

This Grub Hub is the worst. We waited over two and half hours calling four times and being toold the food would be there. They lied. The driver lied we never got our food and had nothing to eat for dinner. They don’t care.

Horrible. Worked a 13 hour work day and was too tired and hungry to cook. Ordered a pizza through GrubHub. An hour and ten minutes later I called pizza place. They said pizza was ready and sitting there waiting for driver. So I called grub hub. Rude guy tells me he will try to call driver. I wait on hold about 10 minutes, finally he returns with not being able to find the driver assigned. Said he would try to assign another driver. By now we are at 1 1/2 hours after ordering food. I was angry and cancelled order. I asked for a refund and was hung up on. Called back and was told I have to wait 5 business days for a refund. Still waiting. Don’t do business with them, they don’t care about you.

Ordered breakfast from corner bakery today through grub hub app. The first driver never responded to the call so a second driver was assigned when the food was supposed to already be delivered. Contacted grub hub and it’s obvious that customer care is inexperienced on how to handle complaints. With as many errors made from grub hub, they should be experts by now. Second driver was assigned and updated the status as delivered but the food never arrived. Contacted grub hub again and no one knew what to do. I’m being asked what they should do. How about hire reliable drivers, 1, 2, 3 mistakes and that driver should be out. Retrain your customer care team properly so they can offer suggestions on how to resolve vs asking what do you want me to do. CEO of Grubhub – read your reviews and make changes so these issues don’t continue. Every phone number online for the Chicago corporate office is disconnected. I couldn’t get a supervisor on the line with customer care Becuz they wouldn’t pick up every time the call was transferred to them. Why do you have a job???? You get paid, so do your job. Management at grub hub- you should be embarrassed on how you treat your customers. You get paid, do your job by ensuring your staff does their job properly. I have officially deleted your app on my phone, Any one with common sense should do the same! Delete the app! Why are we paying for services that are not satisfactory?

I have never experience the things I have experienced with Grubhub before, ever, with any other food delivery service. I decided to give Grubhub a chance and try it out and the Lord knows how much I regret that decision. I ordered food from Zoes kitchen on the 20th of June at 7:17 pm and it was now 9 pm and still hadn’t received my food. I called grubhub and the person on the phone called the driver who said he was 20 minutes away. 9:10 the driver calls me and I told him to pay for the food and enjoy his dinner I was not accepting the delivery2 hours later when Zoes told me it was already done at 7:30. Since the 20th I’ve been trying to use three codes that was suppose to cover the cost that I paid before
but I was told I would have to reorder the food that I ordered before and never received in three different orders. Of course the codes didn’t work. Then I was told that I had to pay the delivery charge the sales tax and the tip again myself, even though I already paid all of that before and never received my order. After calling 11 times since the 20 till today the 26th they finally refunded the monies I spent on the 20th. How can any company think it’s ok to tell a paying customer that they have to pay a delivery fee a tip and a sales tax again when they already paid that amount before and never received their order. Every person I spoke with and did a chatbwithbtold me a different story and the last supervisor unspoken with told manage had no-one above her that could speak with me to help resolve this. The worst customer service I have ever in my 47 years of life eve had to deal with. I will never again use grubhub and will make sure all of my family and friends don’t use it either. I will still with Ubereats Doordash and all of the other ones but never again grubhub. And of course no-one from corporate will ever get in touch with me to make right, that I already know.

Terrible Experience. I ordered special cookies for my elderly mother and when I called to see if she received them, she said no. The driver picked the cookies up from the bakery but he never delivered them and never contacted the restaurant for instructions. I called after 2-hours and was told that they were confused and when they called my mother they had a difficult time conversing due to the driver having a heavy accent. Apparently, the driver decided that since he tried to converse with my mother and not luck, he would just keep the cookies. The Customer Service Associates at Grub Hub were extremely rude. I will call the corporate office tomorrow and will also post my experience on Social Media and share with my coworkers at a Government facility. I will encourage everyone I know not to use Grubhub – EVER.

The worst experience ordering from GrubHub. Should be called “crapHub”. I ordered food from Old Chicago and I keep track of the map and when it will be delivered. I waited 2 hours and I finally called Old Chicago and stated my food has been waiting for 20 mins and no one has picked it up. I called them and all of a sudden, a GrubHub driver automatically appeared and picked up my order.
I want to make it clear that Old Chicago was not at fault and the food was delicious, even sitting in a warmer waiting for GrubHub. Called GrubHub and they said they can give me a 10.00 off next meal. Never again.

I have had the worst experience recently with Grub Hub. I placed on order on sat 3/24/18 to a local Restaurant for delivery. Grub Hub Charged my account, but did not place the order to the merchant. I Contacted GH who said they could not see an order because one was not created because GH never Placed the order. It couple chat sessions as well as a phone call before the realized OH, yes we see what happened admitted they never placed the order, however authorization we put on your account will be there until it falls off by itself. I had to place another order spending more money and am now waiting for the Authorization to fall off and today is 3/27. PayPal says it could be up there for as long as 30 days unless GH reverses it, which they seem incapable/or just wont do to expedite the return of my funds when the admitted in an email that it was there fault. I used to love GH, but this experience has encouraged me to warn others and to think twice about using GH again. They offered nothing for my inconvenience, no free meal no75% off, nothing…SMH…Ubber Eats may be a better option, because GH doesn’t seem to care about its clients…

Tonight I ordered a meal from a chinese place around 6pm and around 7:30 I still had not received the order. I talked to the restaurant and grubhub and then got this really rude prick named jerry that says the drivery had the wrong number and she has the order but I gave the wrong number. He was extremely rude when I asked for a manager he transfered me to some number that rang and then hung up on me. I will never do business through them ever again.

Received a card for $200 as i was having knee surgery. Went online tried to redeem the gift card and could not do it. Called the # for support . The girl ( apparently sitting home on her couch) had NO Idea how to redeem the gift card. ‘
In a nutshell- 7 hours on the phone and 50 + e.mail to support and still not working. They ended up charging my credit card which i was not aware of.

TOTAL IDIOTS. Never have i encountered such ill informed service reps, managers etc. No wonder when i asked how do i reach corporate. I was told a e.mail at helpmegrubhub.

Again today i tried and now ti tells me my gift card is linked to another account???? Spoke with Zakiya in Corporate she more or less told me there was nothing she could do that i should call cashstar. THIS IS THEIR PITIFUL SERVICE.

I asked 10 + times in e.mails how do i cash out this card as after 7 hours i am done. Never got any replies.


PITIFUL excuse for a company.

On Thursday June 15, 2017 I ordered food through Grub Hub from Harolds’s Chicken on 79th Street. The estimated time was 6:36 – 6:46 p.m., I went to get my mail out the mailbox came back upstairs it was 6:17 p.m., It was passed 6:46 p.m. so I called to see how much longer my food would take the driver said he had delivered my food he tried to call me I asked him did he come into the building he said No he was in his car but he did try to call me. That I had to call GrubHub I called GrubHub and was told the driver tried to deliver my order. I said well will they re-deliver and was told No but that Grub Hub was going to give me Free GrubHub on them for 25.00 I said thanks. I was never told that my 22.69 was not going to be refunded. I even called Harold’s Chicken and told them that the order had been canceled and I would be refunded my 22.69. Today I went into may account and seem where my 22.69 was never refunded in addition to on the free grubhub I had to pay a balance of 15.64 in a total of 38.33 was taken out of my account to pay Grubhub. I called Grubhub to inquire about my refund and was told my money would not be refunded that is why they gave me a free grubhub food coupon on them. I did not ask for freegrubhub food and they should had told me that. I am told that Harold Chicken is not refunding me my money so they get to keep the food I order, the money, and delivery fee something is wrong with this picture. How are you taking my money for something I did not receive when I called Grubhub they should had told me that Harold will attempt to redeliver my food or they would issue me a refund. When food is deliver they come into the building and the security guard and/or desk clerk will contact us. I security informed me that Harold Chicken never came to the building and the clerk informed me that Harold Chicken never came to the building or inside to sign in for food delivery. I find something wrong with this picture like how does Harold Chicken get to keep my 22.69 plus my food.

Unfortunately today I encountered some of the rudest customer service representatives with your company. I actually have never had any person from your company be rude even if I wasn’t satisfied with the outcome. The first person that I spoke to name was Jennie, she told me that the food was only 15 minutes late and that wasn’t a big deal. I advised her that I wanted a refund and while we were on the phone the food came. I didn’t accept the food. I was told that she didn’t know if I could get my money back even though I didn’t accept the food. I asked for a manager, I was connected to someone named Chyna. I explained what happened and Chyna stated that she had to verify with the restaurant that I did not take the food. She told me to hold and then she hung up on me. I waited a few minutes assuming that maybe she got disconnected and would call me back, she didn’t. I called the customer service number and got Jennie again. I explained to her that I was hung up on and didn’t know what was going on, she sent a message to Chyna. I asked if Chyna would be calling me back when she was done talking to the restaurant, Jennie said yes. After I hung up with Jennie, Chyna sent me a text message saying the restaurant asked her to call back in 5 minutes and she will call me after she talks to them. When she did call back she explained that I would be given a courtesy refund and that I will not be receiving anymore in the future. I explained to her that it wasn’t my fault that the food was late and she went on to say that the restaurant must be paid because they made the food. I asked to speak to a supervisor because I didn’t like her attitude or tone. She stated that she didn’t have a supervisor. I asked her if she was the highest the company went and she said “today, yes”. I am truly considering not dealing with your company any longer. To be told that 15 minutes past the time they were supposed to be here isn’t a big deal IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. If I was paying cash for that food and they got here late and I decide that I would not accept it they would have to take that food right back to the store like I’m sure they did today. Chyna was nasty and needs to have some kind of customer service training and highly doubt that she doesn’t have a supervisor because I didn’t see her name listed as CEO,CFO, or COO, etc. I literally use Grub Hub several times a month and the way I was treated today as a customer was completely unacceptable.

I had some of the worst customer service experiences ever since I started using Grubhub I ordered from one particular restaurant garbanzo grill these people do not care to follow the directions of the order that you’re placing later on they try to explain it away not knowing that GrubHub is on three-way with you and they are acting unprofessionally when I ask them what type of salmon they have she went says to me I am new here I don’t know OK then maybe you shouldn’t be answering the phone of the restaurant maybe that shouldn’t be your position… However the other orders I placed which had nothing to do with salmon they did not follow the directions and they expect you to be satisfied and in my world my money is just as green as anyone else…. so if you can’t listen we can’t do business together good luck in the future but try to do business with people who have some type of education or know what they’re doing before they become part of your platform GrubHub.

I agree with you that Grubhub should dissociate itself from some restaurants and I’m a GH driver.

This occurred a couple of hours ago today June 5, 2017.

I accepted an order from a restaurant that has told me they don’t start GH orders until the driver walks in the door. But since it was a 15 minute drive to get there I chanced it.

Sure enough upon arriving and waiting 8 minutes to be acknowledged a worker informed me the customer ordered something they didn’t have and she was waiting on her to call back. Miffed, I waited in my car in front of the place 10 more minutes. I went inside, still no call back so I left to call GH. On the phone with an incompetent rep for 20 minutes, he had me on hold forever. All I wanted to do was cancel the order and get on with my deliveries. The rep insisted I could do it from my phone but after accepting a driver cannot, GH has to do it.

I hung up and called back and another rep did it but another 15 minutes went down the drain.
Frustrated, I ended my shift. An hour wasted with no compensation whatsoever!

I Also had a supervisor named taris that hung the phone on me when I was expressing my concern, I ordered from Ny fried chicken and they even stoked money from me , claiming it was a tip. I didn’t receive my money back nor the item. This is the worst I had to ever insure with a multi million dollar company. Is this how you treat people. The partners who you guys deal business with rally sucks because this does show an effect on you (Grubhub) . Spoke with several different representatives and my issue is still resolved.

I want to express my deep disappointment and concern over the dangerous language written in the memo by GrubHubs CEO threatening the employment of employees who supported our new President, Donald Trump. As a result, myself, friends, family and associates will stop using GrubHub. Donald Trump represents the views of millions that want to make our nation a place where all are citizens will thrive, black, white and Latina. The downright lies about his positions and characterizing him as a racist has been one of the biggest atrocities of this election year. I call on your CEO to release a public statement apologizing for the characterization of the President and those of us who supported him, and retract his threat to good people that may work for GrubHub and also support our new President.
