Coca Cola History

Coca-Cola or Coke for short was originally developed as an alcoholic beverage by John Pemberton.  When prohibition passed, Pemberton turned it into a non-alcoholic soft drink.  Coke was first sold in 1886 and was touted to cure many health ailments.

By 1888, there were 3 versions of Coke for sale.  The Coca-Cola Company was also formed this year by Asa Candler, Charley Pemberton (John’s son) and Woolfolk Walker.

Candler incorporated a 2nd Coca-Cola Company in 1892 after a series of ownership disputes.  This is the company that remains today.

In 1894, Coke was first sold in bottles.

By 1935, Coke was a national icon.  In 1955, cans of Coke were sold for the first time.

Today, Coca Cola produces a variety of Coke products and is one of the most recognized brands in the world.

To The CEO and Staff of Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia as well to the American people & the citizens of Every Country and Continent- Please READ: Some of you may not have heard of “The Cove” in Taiji Japan which has drive hunts lasting 7hrs or longer, terrorizing families of whales&dolphins into a killing cove, seperating babies from family members, viscously, slowly by drowning or cutting throats of the innocent, intelligent adults while juvenile babies are blocked of but hear the cries and vocalizations of their adult families last cries during last breaths. it is filmed, documented and able for you to view online video, and as we speak(09-05-17) going on RIGHT NOW, you can see for yourself the truth and reality. We are tired of it. I speak for myself and for the millions of people that will not stop fighting for the innocent until Japan stops killing them. Here is where COCA COLA plays a part. They are a sponsor of the Tokyo Olympics which in turn sponsors the Taiji slaughters. Humanity will NO longer stand for this. We ask that you reconsider buying any Coca Cola products until Coca Cola stops sponsoring a country as Japan, responsible for such suffering upon the whales, dolphins and fate of their babies who are driven back out to Sea to die. I speak the truth. We Stand United, committed, determined with compassion and will do everything in our Power of The People to STOP Japan. Even if it means refusing to buy Coca Cola products until Japan Halts their murdering in The Cove. If you are NOT aware, Please visit today at FB Dolphin Project. We have joined together and we will no longer purchase Coca Cola products that help to in turn, sponsor a Country that supports such suffering upon the great majority of World Population as well.

You should google a number and find a compliance specialist and then report this “shady” operation.

The Coca-Cola located that is in Glendale, Arizona is unorganized and lazy to say the least. I am aware that they are making the switch over to Swire but that is no excuse for a NEW employee to not receive their paycheck on time. My husband has been working for 3 weeks and hasn’t seen a paycheck. We have spoken to many “supervisor” but they don’t seem to have a clue, not to mention his manager approved his hours the day before payday. We call the “HELP” line on numerous occasions and keep getting the runaround. I would like to know what coke feels is a good welcome to the team present for the new employee. I would hate for coke to get bad publicity right before this merger. You need to make some serious adjustments with your upper management at your Glendale Location.

We we refuse for service of VENDING MACHINE by CHRIS JOHNSON (service Department) from Chattanooga Coca-Cola for not sending Tech. Because we don’t buy from them that’s disrespectful for our business & he put company in bad reputation & put down so other company’s can take there business he don’t care & he forgot he is a employee of coca-cola. That’s rude & disrespectful.

Your truck drivers park in ambulance parking at hospitals blocking access to the emergency room and causing a delay in emergency care because the ambulance can’t park to take their patients inside. There is plenty of parking OUTSIDE of the designated ambulance parking at hospitals, THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!!!!!!

Please have someone from your fraud department contact me. I love your product so I am taking the time to write to you and let you know that you are being misrepresented. Someone emailed me and said I won a prize from your company of $750,000.00, of course I thought that was crazy since I have not entered anything. Anyways if you send me a email where I can forward the one I got so you can look into it the would be great. Also, If I won $750000.00, why would Coke Cola want me to pay $149.00 for a transfer fee, now does that make any sense. Couldn’t they just take it out of all that money I won. lol Anyways I thought you might want to know what happened and if you send that email I will send the one I got to you. Thanks and good luck with the race team. Lisa

Topic: Have you not learned that pandering to murderous maniacs only increases their contempt for you, your product, and your country?
Please, Coca Cola, stop the anti-Semitism and the fruitless pandering of your Palestinian branch and stop allowing this branch to demonize Israel, the only nation in the entire Middle East that recognizes the God-given freedoms of all people and the most steadfastly loyal American ally in the world. (Would that the United States government had, in recent years, done anything to earn that loyalty!)
It appears to me that this Palestinian CEO, Zahi Khouri, does not deserve an executive position in Coca-Cola, or any position at all for that matter. His behavior recalls the NAZI-promoted boycott of Jewish-owned businesses on the eve of Krystallnacht.
Please correct this travesty. Please remedy the potential tragedy that Mr. Khouri’s disloyalty to his employer and his apparent betrayal, in the name of Coca-Cola, to your company’s proud history of support of and patriotism to the United States and our Constitution and its Bill of Rights.
Don’t we have enough unjust and unwarranted anti-Semitism in the world? Haven’t enough totalitarian bigots killed and enslaved enough innocent Jews, Christians, Buddhists, and others just to steal power over people these despotic monsters neither deserved nor earned?
Please replace Zahi Khouri with a more suitable spokesman and leader, someone reflective and supportive of Coca-Cola’s proud history of free-market success and worthy of an American company.

I was shopping at Lake Zurich Mariano’s. Entering the soda aisle , my cart hit a box of water laying on the floor. It was some kind of blue box containing coconut water. Because it was just lying on the floor, I picked it up to put it on the shelf. ” hey, what the hell do you think your doing?” Screamed a guy wearing a Coke shirt. I told him that it shouldn’t be on the floor, someone could trip. He screamed and ran at me like he wanted to fight. He stank of cigarettes and booze. I talked to the store manager, the route driver coke guy’s name is Manny. Coke, this guy is not professional in any way. He does not treat customers with respect, in fact, quite the opposite . please talk to him about customer relations.

I am a Coca- cola consumer but I was discouraged when I was about to drink a bottle of Royal Tru Orange (8oz.) where I found out that a small piece of transparent cellophane was floating inside the bottle that I was trying to open. For the benefit/advantage of your company, I kept it a secret. I would like to inform you that the bottle of Royal Tru Orange (8oz.) is in my possession.
I would like to appeal to your good office to give your utmost attention on this matter to remain the good name of your company.
I am open for a settlement so that this will not be reported to the Department of Trade Industry (DTI), Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Food and Drug (BFAD) and other government agencies and soft drink companies.

Bryce Frazier July 25, 2014 at 6:26 pm

At my local supermarket, Schnucks, a new policy was recently put in place where multiple purchase pricing i.e. 3fer. If the price is 3 for $10, if you buy 1 or 2 they are $3.33 each instead of the full regular price. Now, to get the 3 for 10 price you MUST buy 3 or pay full price for anything less than three. When I asked Schnucks about the long standing policy change they told me it was a Coca Cola requirement not Schnucks policy. The other non-Coca Cola brands continued under the OLD policy, only Coke products are affected. I have not purchased ANY Coke product including bottled water since this change nor will I in the future until this blatant greed is revoked.

Hi, I would like to know why coca cola cost more than a beer? You always hear on the news someone getting killed or involved in an accident, behind drinking and driving. While intoxicated by drinking beer or alcohol. But you don’t kill someone by drinking to much coke. I really don’t get it why do y’all charge more for soda then a beer. Man the world is really messed up. I would like y’all to take this in consideration and just think what’s really killing people and innocent children on the street. Thank you, Amanda Martial houston, tx

Coke is a corporate giant that lets it employees run ramped! They can do and say what ever they please. Being in business 40 yrs I have never been treated so badly as with a driver out of Beleville Michigan . Insulted, Embarrassed called a Liar & Laughed at. I have observed many things in business But this coke experience takes the cake. No controls or even company policy that this person feared !! He did and said what ever he pleased. Yes even in a restaurant full of customers as he wheeled a small truck thru the middle of the dining room to exit the building. instead of using a delivery entrance. 3 months to set up all these systems with coke to be abused Sad !! I guess I need to learn to like Pepsi A.Syrocki

San Antonio, TEXAS
I was a formal employee with the coke company, I had worked for three weeks and had a bad experience as a merchandiser. I did not get paid my mileage which were around 150 and did not recieve my last check in full, It was divided into two checks. I worked 55Hours In a two week period and only got paid for 30 hours on 03/07/2014… I spoke with my ex-manager and he said it was corrected with mileage/hours and that I would recieve a check this coming week no later than 03/14/2014. I called pay roll 03/11/14 to comfirm hours and mileage, now payroll told me I wont recieve anything for mileage only hours and i have to wait until 03/21/14 because he put it in as if i worked this week. He was rude on explaining why and was in a rush to end the call, my last day at coke was 02/28/14 its my money I earned it and i shouldnt have any trouble since i was suppose to be paid off in full on 03/07/14. I tried to reach out plenty of times before he submitted hours but never got back to me and just kept stating he would let me know as soon as he gets home, but he never did, my last reach to the ex-manager was Monday 03/09/14 and apparently went on vacation
I’m a college student trying to make ends meets, I relied on coke and expected a check for what I have earned. Now I have to tell my light company to wait for their payment, that was suppose to be paid on the 03/07/14. now im at risk for a disconnection notice to be posted under my bill.

Can someone guide me to the right person that can hear me as well, help me

Have been in contact with several DM call center supervisors all of whom are not helping me with over two years of messed up delivery’s overcharges failure to deliver you name it we’ve experienced it as Im sure this will fall on deaf ears. Outlet #3677328 was told I would receive product free of charge do to the ineptness of the problems or as one supervisor called them opportunity’s huh is that a joke? I run a small deli and if I mess up I fix it that’s what we do in customer service, what do you do?

David Trine February 9, 2014 at 7:18 am

I’m a former employee of coke and I must say working for them is a real eye opening experience. Their work habits are terribly awful , management is very untrustworthy . They don’t pay a very fair wage one the equals the work that is eing done. My time with Coca cola was not very good . My advice to people who wanna work for them espeacially in the Oklahoma City Area well simple don’t . Their bosses are under trained , and their people skills are very poor. There’s also a lot of favoritism going on behind closed doors . Their turn over percentage is very, very, very , high. While working their I seen a new fa every other day always signs posted help wanted or in need of merchandisers.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Good day

Hello, My Outlet number is 6411125 I’m contacting you in regards to past and present issues. We have a Dixie Narco Glass Door front Vending machine of which is the only way we distribute your products. We where the first retailer to test this machines before placing them in schools etc… We fill and maintain the machine ourselves and the Techs showed me all the basic of operations. I know how to test for error codes, change refrigeration timer, and able to to change prices on all selections. I have saved your company a lot of time and money by knowing this machine and only calling tech support when absolutely needed. Last year from September to December you sent us 3 bad machines during that period we lost a lot of money. On Friday October 18 the elevator stopped working mid way through a vend I called Support they came out Saturday and we where told they needed to order a part. I thought Monday, Tuesday the latest it would be repaired. This past Friday I called to see what was going on and was told the part has not come in yet and a Tech will be out as soon as it does come in. The lady was rude about it. Also over the last year and half my Rep has been changed 4 times my last one was my original. It’s frustrating cause the new ones have no idea the terms of our contract aand it takes a lot of time to explain then they have to check usually a month later I receive what’s in the contract. Also each time they try to change my delivery day. I was changed again to a new Rep. at the beginning of October. He has shown up 2 times on a day that I’m not here or available and my staff has told him what days and times I’m available. Still haven’t seen him. Again my delivery day was changed. I’ve been calling in my orders to the 1-800 # number and requested a more practical delivery day and was able to get that request. I pay cash for each delivery. We have been in business for37 years and for the first 18 we had Pepsi and your Sales people would stop in yearly to get us to change. We finally did but over the last 5 years service has been terrible and nonstop problems. I’m considering going back to Pepsi. Please help and address these issues. Also I’m on a major road and 5 of your trucks pass by my place at 5:00 everyday on there way to Conn. to restock. Thank You please email me or call me at 401-623-XXXX

Gordon J. and Ingrid G. RAVEY July 2, 2013 at 9:06 pm

We contacted COCA COLA today regarding POWERADE Melon. We can hardly find it at the local food stores and if and when we do the quantity leaves much to be desired. We have even contacted store managers and a coca cola delivery driver to find out how we can be put on an every two week delivery but to no avail. COCA COLA does not seem to care about providing Customers product as when I spoke to COCA COLA I was told they have no control over how the product gets to Customers because a local bottle company deems to whom and how much product is provided to local stores in the Cary, NC area.
Apparently the only place to get it right now is DOLLAR GENERAL and some gas stations? Did request a complaint be filed? I guess when you get to be so BIG and have billions of dollars you forget about the little people, the Customer who got you there in the first place?! If COCA COLA manufactures POWERADE COCA COLA should take the responsibility for getting the product to Customers in an expedient manner and not just pass the buck!!!!!!!

Raymond Pomietlarz January 25, 2013 at 3:41 pm

Sirs, I recently used one of your affiliates and was very dissatisfied with their service. I had used an amount of points for a voucher towards the purchase of a product from their(FTD) website. After getting a confirmation of the purchase, I had called several days later only to find that the product was not delivered or that the product was not available any longer. If I had not conversed to the person intended I would not have known that my purchase was not delivered so that I could get a refund. However they had only refunded the amount minus the voucher I had acquired from your website. I would think that if you would recommend an affiliate they would be more trust worthy . I should think that they would have turned in that voucher to receive their twenty dollar ($20.00) credit from you. I would not expect you to refund this amount however I would consider not referring them on your website.
Respectfully yours ,
Raymond Pomietlarz
