Nick Swinmurn founded Zappos in 1999 as Shoesite.com.
Swinmurn raised $2 million from investment firm Venture Frogs to launch the company.
Just a few months after the launch, Swinmurn changed the name of the company from Shoesite.com to Zappos, which was a play on the Spanish word for shoes, zapatos.
In 2000 Zappos had $1.6 million in revenue.
The company grew quickly, with $70 million in revenue in 2003, $840 million in 2007, and $1 billion in sales in 2008.
In 2009 Zappos was acquired by Amazon in a $940 million stock and cash deal.
Today Zappos is the #1 online shoe retailer and stocks 3 million pairs of shoes, handbags, apparel, and accessories.

Dear Sirs,
I am a retired veteran living in Las Vegas and a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation (TM) program. The TM organization is an International non-profit. If you have never heard of TM before, please check out the link: tm.org. I would like to make an appointment with you, to better show you the presentation I would like to give at your facility. If you would support the decision to allow me to make a one-hour Powerpoint presentation on the benefits of TM. I would like to make it a quarterly or monthly presentation to add to your calendar of events. Ten minutes of your time, so I may show you a few slides and discuss with you the possibility of offering free introductory lectures at your facility, and possibly free group meditations in the future, if there is a interest shown.
Please feel free to contact me anytime.

Please keep your company out of politics. Some of your customers apparently are unaware of the 60 million DEPLORABLES that also shop at Zappos.
Thanks,
Richard

I, too, will no longer shop at your store. It saddens me as I love it. However, I am committed to spend zero dollars with retailers that carry any Trump merchandise. Goodbye to you, Amazon.com, and the rest. Unless he and his associates can separate from their personal business ventures, and until you drop the Trump-related products, my money will be spent with your competitors. I can assure you, all my friends and family have been made aware of this decision and I encourage them to join me in my boycott everyday. Goodbye.

Good Day,
I just wanted to let you know that I will no longer shop at Zappos until all Trump products are removed. I love your site and have spent a good deal of money here, but it will stop. I draw the line here. Please stop selling Trump products.
Thank you,
Nancy Levine
