I have to pay for the teachers mess-ups. I showed the student and teacher the same picture over a dozen times and the first time it was awful! I asked for purple with light blonde vs I got orange and black with one blonde streak in it, left me in tears. Thankfully they did the best they could to fix it and through out me going back and paying for it each time minus twice for what they could do to fix. I was so close to getting what I wanted and the teacher messed it up all over again. Came in to fix it and I unfortunately got the same teacher ugh. She advises me that she didn’t want me to get anything done bc of how dry my hair was but yet if I waited any longer for them to fix I would have to pay for her mess up how is that any way fair? The student I have no issue with it’s the teacher and I have no way around me getting a good end result. I even said how is that fair to me with her mess up and basically was just told it is the policy. How is that the policy of them messing up but yet I will have to pay for it? So if you have something in mind that you want done DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Complaint – Aurora, Colorado Xenon School at Peoria and Iliff
From: Carola Tschiemer, Aurora, Colorado
To: Xenon CEO Bob Peel
I have never experienced anything like this treatment I received as a Xenon client today! There is one other review of Xenon on Yelp, and it is also “one star” – this other review basically mirrors the attitude and experience I had today. So I am not the “only” client.
I was scheduled for a facial with extractions and a sugar body today 28 September 2017 at 5:30PM. I was there at 5:30PM and the student I was assigned to (Nanette) finally came to get me at about 5:43PM. I walked to a room with her and when I realized that it was not the correct room with the shower to rinse of the sugar scrub, I mentioned it to her. Nanette told me to go back out to the waiting area so she could prepare the other room for the sugar body scrub treatment. So about 6pm, she gets me and tells me that she is going to use the same room for the facial first. I informed her that the priority for me is the facial extraction, to get the pores cleaned out. Nanette starts telling me that she does not want to do “extractions” – she wants to do “eye lash extensions” and she tells me she is going to get another student who likes to do extractions…. about 10 minutes later (there is a clock right next to the door in the treatment room) she comes back and says the other student is busy with another client. I asked her if she is going to use the steamer to open the pores – Nanette says something like “steamers are outdated” and puts a small towel over my face, she never even cleaned my face first…. next she asked me if I used the “pore strips” before and I told her that the pores are not going to automatically become clean by placing pore strips on the nose/face and that the only why to get the sebum out is to do extractions. So after about two minutes she removes the towel and again leaves the room for about five minutes – after she returned, for about two minutes she does extractions on my nose. I told her that I normally go to Pickens Technical College, but the new students are not on the floor yet so I came to Xenon for the extraction facial. After a few minutes of her doing the extractions, she leaves and comes back with her instructor, “Nicole”
By that time, I had been at Xenon for about 50 minutes and had about five minutes of “facial/extraction” – a towel on my face for about two minutes and about two or three minutes extractions. I was pretty obvious, as Nanette already told me before, she does not like to do facials or extractions, she likes to do “eye lash extensions” – it was clear to me that she did not want to do the facial and extractions on me and got her teacher to get her out of doing this task!
I told the instructor, “Nicole” that this was the most disorganized and ridicules experience I ever had – I told her that I had been at Xenon’s before many times, but I never experience any treatment like this before. The instructor, Nicole, said we don’t want to break your capillaries – I never heard anything like that before when I had asked for a facial with extractions! Clearly, the student, Nanette, did not feel like doing extractions and got her teacher to get her out of doing the facial with extractions!
The instructor, Nicole, said “extractions are about 10 minutes and the facial is about one hour” – I told her that of the 45 minutes while I was there, I did not get to the room until about 6pm and during the time I was laying on the table, the student, Nanette, had already left the room three times, each time for about 5-10 minutes! The extraction time I had received by the student was about two to three minutes, plus about two minutes with a towel over my face!
The teacher said “I think you are disrespectful to the student” – and I asked her if it is “not disrespectful for the student to leave the room three times and keeps telling me that she does not want to do facials and extractions, that she wants to do eye lash extensions” – and keeps leaving the room and trying to get another student to come and do the extractions. I told the instructor, Nicole, that I would like the name and contact information for the manager and that I would also contact corporate office about this kind of treatment. Clearly, by the other ONE STAR Yelp review left by another client, one can see that this place is going down the toilet. It seems, students only have to do treatments “they like to do” and when a client wants something different, the Esthetician just gets a teacher to bail the student out of doing what the client asked and is paying for! I have no idea how this place is staying in business! I NEVER experienced anything like this! What client in their right mind is going to pay $27 for a five minute treatment? Not me – I will warn everyone I know to stay away from this terrible school.
