Winners was first opened in 1982 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. At the time, it was the first and only discount clothing and shoe store in Canada.
In 1990, Winners was acquired by TJX Companies, who also own TJ Maxx stores. Since 2001, Winners has been paired with HomeSense, which offers home decor items, similar to the HomeGoods stores in the US.
In 2016, CBS investigated the “retail price” on Winner’s price tags and discovered that they were not always what they appeared to be and were misleading.
The company currently has 279 locations throughout Canada.
Winners does not sell their clothing or home decor items online.
In July 2020, the parent company issued a statement regarding COVID-19, stating that all employees would be required to wear masks until further notice but that stores would remain open.
Winners maintains a corporate office in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

It seems I was charged twice for the same purchase on February 27th, 2023. I did speak briefly with an associate locally, who advised I would need my receipt. I am unable to locate it, at present… but can certainly provide you with the detail from my bank. It was actually the bank who sent a notice to me to advise they thought I might have been charged 2x for the same purchase. Do you have an email address where I can send you this detail? I am thinking if you look at the transactions for that day, you will see they were made almost at the same time. The teller had advise me that the first payment did not go through. I would appreciate it if someone could please follow up with me.

The Winners in Prince George British Columbia has kicked me out, from mistaken identity.. I have moved here recently and have shopped there 2x and both times spent close to $150.00 both times. Then whoever you hired to be a manager called security and had me removed with no reasoning when I calmly asked why. It’s embarrassing to me and to your company who clearly just turned away an other big sale.
My suggestion is that upper management speaks to her and or I go and complain to our local papers over the treatment your customers get who dont steal.

I had a very positive experience with your Simcoe Ontario store today. I purchased a Roots purse Jan 11 for an upcoming trip. It was great with zippered pockets for my passport etc. It did not last a week into my vacation as the handles separated/freyed from the purse. I had to purchase safety pins to keep it together. When I returned I sent a picture to Roots saying what poor quality this purse was. They told me since I purchased at Winners I would have to return it to Winners. I took the purse in today and they were great. I should have got the Manager and Store Clerk’s names as they listened and gave me back what I paid in a gift card. I will shop there again.

Hi There,
A transaction went through x2 on my debit card for over a $100 back in April 2022.
I have spoken with head office a few times as my local Winners store cannot do anything.
I am still waiting to get my money back.
So frustrating

I live at Yonge and Eglinton and my email and comments relate to the Winners store on the North/West
corner of Yonge and Eglinton in the RioCan shopping mall. The quality of clothing and goods are very disappointing, the quality, styles and fashions in this store are inferior to the Laird location and the
Yonge and Sheppard locations. It’s as though the Yonge and Eglinton store is the dumping ground for
the castoffs that do not sell at your other locations.
This is a high end area and from the comments that are circulating in this neighbouring community is that this store leaves many wishes to be desired. It’s inferior to many of the other Winners locations in fact it’s inventory is of junk status!!

This is directed to Kalim,
Hello Kalim,
I had asked Erica for your email information as I wanted to let you know what an outstanding employee she is.
I have been dealing with a shopping cart issue which had been found and secured in my garage. That was 8 days ago
and after many phone calls back and forth Erika was finally able to have the store manager contact me to have
the cart picked up. (Initially I had been told by the store to throw it in the garbage.) I was told that would happen
in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed.
Erika was kind, thoughtful, efficient and always kept me informed of her “next steps”. She is stellar and you’re lucky
to have her as an employee.
Whenever I encounter someone who goes “above and beyond” I always want their superior’s to recognize that.
Thank you for your time Kalim.
Kind regards,
Rita Harris
