CST Brands was created in 2013 when Valero Energy Corporation spun-off its retail operations because Valero wanted to focus on refining.

In 2014 CST Brands acquired Lehigh Gas GP LLC in a cash and stock deal.

Today the company operates more than 1,000 gas stations/convenience stores under the name Corner Store. Gasoline is sold under the Valero and Diamond Shamrock brand names. CST Brands’ stores are located in nine states, with 60% in Texas.
