Hi! I am certainly not a person that complains about things, so this is out of my ordinary to leave a review like this. I just have to mention that the quality of customer service I have received specifically from Bob at Talsma Furniture in Holland, MI has been EXTREMELY POOR. First and foremost, upon meeting him for the first time he was super nice guy and seemed very helpful, he told us he would have to order our sectional and it should be in in 2-3 weeks (this was in mid September). So time goes by and I hear nothing so I call and he tells me that half of the sectional has arrived but the other hasn’t. Okay, that stuff happens, not his fault, I understand. 4 weeks go by, I am still the one calling to get updated, no one kept me in the loop until I made it clear that I would appreciate to be informed. Still no couch and it shipped oct 16, okay that sucks, whats going on, still its out of his control and I know it and I’m still kind despite my frustration. FINALLY, today 11/8/17, Bob calls me and tells me the couch is in and the soonest it can be shipped is Saturday afternoon. I ask if it can be shipped any sooner because my husband and I will be away for the weekend and the fact that we’ve had to wait an exponential amount of time for our couch should make us somewhat of a priority. He says “sorry, its up to the warehouse.” So I ask if he can talk to them directly and he says “no, sorry.” So I say, “okay that’s ridiculous but whatever, we will take Monday, and please make it the afternoon.” So he says “okay, we can do Monday from 12-5pm.” Then I ask if I can request a specific time as we will not be home during the early afternoon part and he straight up says “no, we cant do that. You can leave a key for them.” After this I was extremely frustrated with not only his short abrupt answers but his attitude towards me and the way he was talking to me and just hung up the phone after I said “whatever that’s fine”. I was SO upset after this phone call, I literally almost called back up to cancel the whole couch, I do not want him to gain commission off of it. That is worth me not having a couch. I was seriously shaking upset. Even if the outcome was the same, being delivered Monday, yet he tried to talk it through with me kindly or see what he could do, this would have been a different story. I felt no respect from him and it left an impact on me, and sadly an impact on how I feel about Talsma Furniture. I called a manager from Hudsonville, his name was Bryan, explained our situation of long wait and wanting our couch as soon as possible, I didn’t even get to tell him about what happened with Bob because he just started explaining to me about how truck drivers are low and backed up but he would certainly contact the warehouse and see if there is anywhere to fit our delivery on one of there trucks sooner. I still don’t know when its going to be delivered, hopefully sooner than later, but if its Monday that’s fine, at least I know Bryan was kind enough to vouch for me and contact the warehouse. Bob could have done this, except he didn’t. I’m sorry to leave this review, and I hope it is not taken lightly.
