In 1966, the company opens stores in Ontario, Canada.
In 1969, the company is purchased by National Industries. Then they are acquired by Fuqua Industries in 1978.
In 1982, a leveraged buyout (LBO) is led by upper management of the company.
In 1987, all Canadian stores are sold to Murray Cummins.
Today, TSC has over 1800 stores in 49 US states. Annual revenue in 2018 was $7.911 billion.
In September 2019, the company stated that charities that were offering rifles as prizes for winning a raffle would no longer be allowed to sell tickets from storefronts.
In December 2022, The Motley Fool stated that Tractor Supply stock was a bargain and posted it as a “buy”.
In October 2022, Tractor Supply acquired Orscheln Farm and Home for $238 million.
It is unknown if Orscheln will be rebranded as Tractor Supply.
