In 1995 EchoStar launched its first satellite, EchoStar 1. The next year the company established Dish Network to market its home satellite TV system. In 2008 Dish Network was separated from the rest of the business and a split in shares created two companies.
Today EchoStar Corporation provides TV set-up boxes, satellite dishes, remote controls, and cable receivers to DISH network and other similar satellite service providers. Subsidiary Hughes Communications provides internet service to customers in North America.
