Buck’s Ice Creams was founded in Milford, Connecticut, by Charles Buck in 1950. Buck originally began by selling ice cream to restaurants, selling out of his truck. Today, there are 17 locations throughout the state, as well as a location operated at the University of Missouri.
The company offers gelato’s, ice cream, ice cream desserts, frozen yogurt, and sorbets. The University of Missouri operates one location, run by students, with profits going to the football team. Retiring employees donated used Cushman carts, which were redesigned on campus to hold ice cream freezers, allowing the product to be sold during the summer months all over campus.
