Your workers decided it would be ok to use my water hose to clean the neighbors carpet!!!! I caught him before he turned on my water!!!! I told him he can’t be using my water since I pay the bill and did not contact Stanley Steelers to do anything for me. He was just being lazy because he obviously did not want to lift his water equipment to the second floor … the messed up part is that he did not even apologize!!!!
Irene Rosenbloom says
I am very upset with Stanley Steemer. It started out ok. Two people showed up on August 5, 2019. I had them clean my bedroom, hallway and stairs. Then, they cleaned my back room carpet on the first floor, my living room and dining room and family room area rugs. While they were working in the living room, I mentioned that my couch in the family room could not have water on it. When I asked the employee to go over the carpet area near the family room couch and table a little more because it still showed spots, he draped the hose over my couch. Suddenly the hose came apart and water and white stuff sprayed all over my couch, the table, and wood floor behind the couch!! The white stuff created white spots on my beige couch!! I was in shock! I ran to my laundry room, got towels and quickly tried to wipe up the floor. The employee turned off the water, tried to vacuum the couch to get the spots out,and put a blow dryer in front of the couch to help do that. To make a long story short, the next morning, first I saw my living room and family room carpets and they had hills in them! Then, I noticed that there were still spots on my couch!! I was worried that I would have to get a new couch!! The supervisor came, and eventually said that they could take one of the couch pillows to see if they could clean it. After a lot of talking with them, they convinced me to let them clean my couch with their “dry” vacuum and solution that had water in it!! For 2 days, we could not sit on the couch because the cushions were wet!! Finally, they dried. Another supervisor put the cushions back. The couch looked fairly good. The living room and dining room carpets finally went back down and the hills disappeared. Meanwhile, during the drying time, a very nasty woman supervisor named Kaitlyn called me, and instead of being apologetic for the disaster, she wanted full payment immediately and threatened to send us to collection!! What type of company would threaten us like that!! It hadn’t even been a month since the disaster. I told her that that we wanted compensation for the trauma of the spots on the couch, the hills in the carpets, the inconveniences , my trouble sleeping worrying about whether I was going to have to buy a new couch and repair our wood floor. I wanted them to make everything right. She called again and talked with my husband. She told him she would give us 10% off. What a joke!! I wanted 50% off for all of the trauma, etc. My husband suggested one-third off, but she again threatened to send us to collection. We are still dealing with them. We want more compensation.

I AM LITERALLY SICK OF THIS VOMITING BABY COMMERCIAL! I GAG AND VOMIT MYSELF AND I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO BE PUT THROUGH THIS EVERY TIME!!! I’M GOING TO CONTACT MY LAWYER BECAUSE YOU HAVE TAKEN MY RIGHT TO LIVE COMFORTABLY IN MY OWN HOME AWAY….AND SINCE THERE IS NO WARNING THAT THIS COMMERCIAL WILL BE ON THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO STAY AWAY FROM IT. THIS IS NOW BECOMING A MEDICAL ISSUE BROUGHT ON BY YOUR COMMERCIAL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!! CEASE AND DESIST THIS COMMERCIAL!

I am writing in regard to your “Gross” ad campaign. Yes, there are things that are gross and yes, they do happen, but who wants to look at them in detail everyday during breakfast, lunch and dinner! These commercials are a total turn off to your company. Stick with your jingle and try a different approach.

I recently had your company come and clean my carpets, they where also supposed to stretch the carpet. The man who showed up said the guy who does the stretching couldnt come. Of course I was upset. I called the office, and got a very rude young lady who told me they had an emergency, that I understand, not the way she talked to me. She promised to get ahold of him and see if he could come the next day. She never called me back, I called her and asked what was going on. She rudely told me he would contact me, which he did not. I then called the following day, go him on the phone, he promised to let me know that day when he could come. To this day I have heard nothing from him. I am done with Stanley steemer. I have someone here right now streching my carpet through another company. Took me one call to have a reliable person come give me an estimate and here to fix the carpet. That is how you do buisness. I will never use Stanley steemer again, and will not recomend you. Saundra Grammer

Stanley Steemer needs to pull all the disgusting commercials ASAP. I find it extremely offensive to think that watching a little boy running through pee, a young boy getting hurt in his privates or a scooting dog is appropriate. And to make it more offensive these ads are shown during meal times!
Please pull these truly “GROSS” (your words) ads. This is not the way to gain customers in a very competitive market. Because of these ads I will not call Stanley Steemer no matter how dirty my carpet or tile becomes. You have done yourself much harm. Fire the person or company who came up with this campaign. Have some class and show respect to your customers. CLEAN UP YOURSELVES !!! Pun intended!
Brenda says
Nothing new to add to the preceding “ tasteless commercial “ comments.
And most of these obnoxious commercials are on during breakfast
or around dinner time. Yuk! Clean up your ads Stanley.
Donna Pankratz says
IF your quality of cleaning is anything like your lack of quality commercials than you are luck to still be in business. There is no way I will call your company.
Anyone who thinks a young boy dancing and hitting his private parts or throwing up pink stuff is funny is sadly mistaken. What is wrong with spilling red jello before it get settled, red wine when a dog comes running through the room, mud on a toddlers shoes before mom has a chance to catch him.
There are many many situations where carpet needs cleaning that don’t involve sex or bodily functions. Hire a decent add company who has a broad span of ideas and see if you can’t clean up your image.
J. Budrow Clark says
Who are you marketing your TV ads to? Splashing in urine, spitting out pink slobber and dog scooting? Do you not understand that every time I see one of your commercials my stomach is ill and I can not wait to turn the channel?
I would not use your service if it were free.
I would suggest you try another marketing strategy and fire the advertising company you are currently paying lots of money to to make your potential customers cringe in disgust.
Sara Rock says
The commercial where the boy hits himself in the crotch is a horrible commercial. Not only is the boy a terrible actor (you can tell he hits himself on purpose) but there’s several different ways something could have spilled on the carpet other then a boy hitting his private area.. It’s inappropriate with a disgusting sense of humor.
Gwen says
I can’t believe your commercials here lately. First we have the one where the kid was holding his crotch. At least you corrected that would after a while. But now we have to watch the kid urinating! And we have to listen to it. This is very offensive to so many people. Nobody wants to watch that on a commercial. I’m sure it probably really turns people off, so much that they don’t even want to do business with you. I know I don’t. Is this person a pedophile, who’s putting these commercials together. Nobody in the room had a problem with that? Stop it already! I’m sure you do great work. But these commercials need to get better.
Ray says
That commercial where the boy spits out his drink is disgusting and just so you know as soon as it comes on I change the channel.
Deborah Guittar says
we think the commercial with the 3 kids where the boy says I won and dances and hits himself in the crotch and other boy spits and girl covers it up is funniest commercial we have ever seen. It cracks us up. Usually fast forward through commercials but kept this recorded on our tv and have shown family and friends and they to thought it was funny. We plan on having Stanley Steemer clean our carpets soon for the simple reason we do like your commercial.
Terrance says
Your current commercial (young boy seeming to strain himself) is disgusting! Because of it We will NEVER use your service!
Sue says
The commercial that depicts a little boy urinating then turning around and splashing in it and spreading onto the rest of the floor when his mother calls for him is disgusting. It airs repeatedly in my area. No, Stanley Steemer, this is not typical childhood behavior. Your PR got it wrong this time.
Amy says
Just a comment – your commercial where the little boy rakes himself is not funny. Isn’t there a more tasteful commercial you could use?
LT says
Your commercial with the young boy who is doing a dance for winning a game and then grabs his crotch is absolutely out of line. It is tasteless should be taken off the air.
Thomas Wiley says
Your commercial with the boy dancing in celebration is a bad one. First, when the dancing boy hurts himself, he puts his hand on his abdomen very near his crotch and screams out in pain. His friends, cruelly laugh at him. The other boy, laughing, spits a mouthful of strawberry milkshake on the carpet. The children, shirking any responsibility, then push an ottoman over the carpet stain trying to hide it. As they show the dancing boy again he is holding his hand on his crotch, still in pain. His character and the ad is obnoxious and crude.
I feel no further explanation is needed. This is just a bad commercial. Thanks you
Sharon says
s_amred@ comcast.net, I agree with the individual that the commercial is disgusting and I find it offensive. And the way you teach children and teenagers to be so disrespectful and not cleaning up their own mess. Why don’t you use the opportunity to teach responsibility and team work instead of “its all about me” attitude and not taking responsibility for their messes.
Joe says
This latest SS commercial is one of the tasteless ever. I never thought SS would stoop so low. Sad
Jim says
Boycotting your company for being the “gross” part of your commercial that aired tonight on Wheel of Fortune exploiting a little boy urinating and stepping in it. How many people in your company had the lack of judgement to be in agreement with an ad agency who pitched this demeaning idea to you? Really sad. Why didn’t you have a little girl doing the same thing? Maybe that is your next commercial. Sad way to try and have an impact. Please remove commercial and put one on that shows the good things you think you can do for homeowners.
Colleen says
I agree the commercial is so offensive with the boy hitting himself!! I would never use Stanley Steemer ever after this disgusting commercial.

This carpet cleaning experience was one of the worst experiences I have ever experience from a company in my life. My father paid stanely Stemer to clean my two bedroom apartment . We were to have it done on 11/10/2018 the staff was witnessed by the rental off ice my complex that the staff took the cleaning equipment into my place turned it on and went out past me due to knowing I am blind and went back into the van an d stayed there for about a half hour the rental office saw then came back in and acted like they were finished there was only water it felt like on the carpet no other smells then the deionizer that they never told me till I asked about the figure on my dad’s credit card that was a hundred dollars more due to the deord that was put on without my permission . I contacted the company and had a staff member and a manager I thought come out to see if they could get out the stains which I was told couldn’t come out and there was no reason to clean the place but the carpets were still not cleaned. I then called again and got a very nice lady the office manager named Katelyn from the local Stanley Steemer office around the corner form me and was upset to hear what happened and sent out a new crew for a free cleaning again of my carpets. When the crew got here for the third time they seemed like they didn’t’ want to clean the carpets and told me that they were only to inspect the stains and try again to get them out not clean the carpets but after I inssteded to have them cleaned they decided to do them . When they got to the last room I had the rental office come up to see what was being done and how the cleaning looked . The rental office manager saw from a window outside that it looked like the crew member was just pushing around water on the carpet. When she came in and spoke to the crew member and asked to be shown what he was cleaning she saw him only vacuum up things and use water only again to be pushed around in the room. Then the crew member started debating and arguing with the manager about her not knowing what she was talking about and how the carpets were cleaned when she went to tell him and show him that the carpet should of been brighter and the dirt should of been up he wasn’t to argue instead of owning up and cleaning the carpets to get the dirt out and brighten up the carpets up.
I then got a call from the owner of the local Stanley Steemer location near me . he took sides with his crew and was accusing myself and the rental office of lying and was not willing to come out or send out Ms. Katelyn to look at the carpets nor was he willing to give my dad his money back . I will never use this company again for cleaning my carpets nor will my family use your company ever. I can’t believe that I have had to contact the ceo and still haven’t gotten any money back or even a call back and that the owner of the location near me told me to go ahead and get a lawyer and the attorney general involved to get my dad’s money back but we wouldn’t get any where with it . I can’t believe that my carpets are still not cleaned and I will probably have to get a different company out to clean them also the manager form the rental office of my complex told the owner of my local Stanley Steemer named Daniel was told that she has had a different company other than Stanley Steemer clean another unit as bad meaning the carpets were just as old and bad off got the dirt out and made the carpets brighter . I was also told by the owner of my local Stanley Sttemr location that the carpets in my place were not abl3e to be cleaned after talking to the team that came out to clean my place and that team the first time out ot my place never told me that the carpets couldn’t be clean and when talking to mr. Damiel about it he only kept saying that we asked to have them clean an d that is why he charged us still even knowing the carpets couldn’t’ be cleaned.

We had stanley steemer come to our house day before yesterday, then we spent all day and night fixing what they did. I have before and after pictures if anyone wants to see them. I don’t know what those people did, but I promise you they didn’t clean my carpets. They left them soaking wet, I mean they squished. And big orange blotches where there weren’t any stains at all. I can’t even express how very disappointing this has been. And when we asked for a refund of course they wouldn’t do it. I will be telling everyone I meet to NEVER use stanley steemer. We used a big green clean machine and our carpets came out super clean! Even the high traffic areas are spotless. We still have the hall and bedrooms to fix. I am upset and feel ripped off. We are in the wrong line of business people. We need to scam people into letting us ruin their carpets for tons of money. Never again. NEVER ever again.

STANLEY STEEMER CRUSHED MY CATS FOOT
On August 27th, Stanley Steemer came to our home to clean the carpets in the basement. They were 20 minutes early and we didn’t have time to get the cats out of the way. We told them very clearly – be careful with the cats. They started the job immediately and started moving furniture and we saw our 14-year old Ralphie run upstairs under a bed. They completed the job and left but the cat was still under the bed. After a while we went to get him from under the bed and he had a badly broken foot with bones sticking out of the skin. Vet said injuries are consistent with furniture being moved on top of his foot. He had surgery to repair it and is now having major complications from medications and anesthesia, he may not survive.
Of course we contacted Stanley Steemer about this, but have gotten no where. The manager of the location was rude and dismissive. The customer service person was not able to offer anything other $130 refund. The insurance adjuster told me “it’s your word against the crew, and since I work for Stanley Steemer, I have to take their word over yours” so he informed me they will be denying our claim.
We are out over $3K, and possibly our cat too. Stanley Steemer has denied liability and only offered $130 refund for the carpet cleaning.
Stanley Steemer was grossly negligent in not telling us they hurt our cat, and not taking any responsibly in refusing to even consider our vet bills. Shame on them!
John Mastroelli says
We had them come in to clean two sofas. They were here for about 20 minutes and said that they couldn’t get them clean and then packed up and left. They left huge puddles of water on my wood floors and damaged the casing on a brand new door. I then went and borrowed a friend bissel little green machine and in about 1 hour had the couches looking brand new again. We took pictures on the couches and damage after they left and pictures of the couches after I cleaned them. The rep came down and said the difference was night and day and would take the pics back to the door to decide what to do. They paying to fix the door but are not refunding my money back as they don’t offer a money back guarantee . I guess paying for services not rendered is ok though. What a rip off!! Stay away from them all they will do is take your money!! I am also in contact with my lawyer and he thinks there is a law suit that may be coming their way!!

Stanley Steemer San Diego Carpet Cleaning
they cleaned my carpets and also blocked my toilet with a night after incident, as it was overflowing they turned the water off, they tested my stone floor in the middle of my family room then asked for $3700 to fix the problem, they took 10 minutes to clean my carpets after I refused to let them do the stone floors. Im still doing the floors myself and trying to get a manager to call me back is a joke. Worst experience out. On a second house they charged me $4000 to seal the stone floors, it took them at the most 45 minutes and all I got was one coat, that show’s really bad. They told me the sealing is where they make their money. This is the managers reply:I wanted to email you regarding our conversations about the recent work we performed at your two properties. I appreciate your patience and willingness to let me try and come to a resolution on this matter. I am very sorry that you are not satisfied with our service, and Stanley Steemer does want to do everything we can within reason to resolve the matter. Regarding your request for a refund of $1,500, I met with my management team as I said I would. We listened to our phone conversation from Saturday because I wanted to make sure they heard everything you had to say. Our goal is to always try and come to a fair and reasonable resolution. After doing so, our management team will agree to do one of the following of your choice.
1.We will complete the job at the Encendido house at no charge.
OR
2. We will apply additional coats of sealer to the Montien house. We can schedule this over multiple days and facilitate furniture moving if necessary.
OR
3. We will give you a $1500 credit for any future service.
If you would like to arrange one of these options please contact me and I will do so for you. I know that you have made it clear that you were not interested in using us again. I do hope you will reconsider and allow us to provide the type of service we strive for with every customer. Our management team believes this offer is a fair and reasonable resolution.

The carpet was cleaned at my condo complex in Fl. A call was placed to me by a resident that there was a large mess outside the door of the unit. Being a board member it was my responsibility to check the unit. There was water, black dirt and carpet all over the walkway. It was a large mess. I spoke the driver to request it be cleaned up. His associate refused to do so and began swearing at me. The driver, Ralph, did offer to clean his mess, however all he did was wipe water around. A call was placed to the local office and the manager apologized. This service was beyond reproach. Customers should never be treated in this manner. I would never recommend this company to anyone will assure the company that their services will not be used at the condo.

No respect for Stanley Steemer due to franchise in Leesburg, FL. I tried to use their services last year. They came and measured and gave me a quote to review and I told them I would call them to schedule the work after considering their estimate along with a few others. I decided to check the measurements they did and they measured a few hundred square feet more than I did. I called and told them I didn’t think there measurements were correct. They came back and guess what? Without me telling them what I came up with, their measurements were almost identical to mine. Since this was for a business office paying with a P.O. #, they needed to set up an account. I gave them all the needed info and they said we were good to go. I also had to get info from them to set them up as a vendor for my company. I got partial information from them. I called and emailed them for a few weeks and never got any response, so I let it go.
I have now relocated into a different office suite and tried to set up service this week. To save time, I am paying with a credit card to avoid going through all the red tape to set up a vendor for a one-time service. They scheduled someone to be here today between 2pm and 5pm. As of the writing of these comments, it is now 7:15 pm and no one has shown up. I didn’t receive any calls to tell me they were running late or to reschedule. I tried to call their local office and got a recording that said they were closed and to leave a message, which I did. I went to Stanley Steemer’s website to look for a way to contact someone at the corporate level. Maybe it’s just me, but I couldn’t find any options on their website to contact anyone about poor service. All I could do was put in my zip code to find the local franchise and their phone number. I give Stanley Steemer poor marks for a website that doesn’t have an easy way to contact a corporate level department to report issues with a local franchise. It appears that Stanley Steemer isn’t concerned with good customer service or their company’s name and reputation that appear to be tanking due to issues I have found posted on-line.
I would like to challenge anyone from Stanley Steemer to contact me or any of the others that have had a bad experience and show that customer service matters, but I’m not too optimistic about any real follow up based on some of the comments I have seen posted.

VERY DISSATISFIED with the service. First, they were not even here for one hour for two rooms, hallway and 5 stairs. They didn’t move any furniture and worked around it. Additionally, all spots are still there and the edges were not done. This is unacceptable. No wonder they would only accept cash! My 70 year old husband had put the dining room chairs on the deck, thinking he would help them with the furniture. To our surprise, as stated they moved nothing, and, as a matter of fact, he had to bring the chairs back in when they finished. Unfortunately, I was working at the time or wouldn’t have paid them unless the job was done right. The whole experience was a disaster. The company did offer my husband to send the crew back but why would we want the same incompetent crew back. Very disappointing. In order to have the rugs cleaned we have to pay to put our dog in the kennel. Now we’ll have to pay another day in order to get a legitimate company to come and do it right. I will make sure that I review Stanley Steemer on every website there is to ensure that people are aware of your horrible and unacceptable service. I will not recommend your company to anyone.

I would like to stay anonymous. I worked for one of the Stanley Steemer in panhandle of Florida. Very poorly ran franchis with old equipment. I was called into the office today on my day off and was scolded about a personal issue that had nothing to do with my job, by the owner of this franchise . I told her no to a question she asked and she stepped towards me and slapped my arm. I told her to not touch me ever. I then turned and left the office. She did this in front of my coworkers in the office. I dunno what to do, but this is a very very bad franchise. I am not the only employee that she had slapped. Found out today I am no longer employeed there. It’s a shame you guys have a franchise that you have no idea how its ran, lack of training, and the very unprofessional owner who treats her staff horribly.

DO NOT purchase any prepaid plans with this company. It is a SCAM. When we went to use our credit, they gave us a bunch of BS about how the credit could be used and the amount was less that originally explained. When I called for the service and explained very clearly what we needed the Stanley Steamer guy shows us Without the equipment needed to do the job. Then he called his supervisor who came out and they gave a bunch of BS lame excuses as to why they could not do the job. I have referred a lot of business to Stanley Steemer. I WILL NOT in the future. As a mater of fact I will go out of my way to make sure other people DO NOT GET Scammed into their dishonest ways of doing business. I would say that Paul Carson at Stanley Steamer Corp. has his hand full with all the dishonest company practices they provide. Also, the area representative was supposed to contact me more than a week ago. Still not a word from anyone! Stanley Steemer SUCKS!

This last July we paid for your company to clean a small carpeted room for our daughter. She asked the cleaner if he do give a runner carpet a few swipes. He could not do that. He would have to refigure the footage. We paid to have three rooms cleaned. He only cleaned one room and he could not accommodate cleaning one little runner. Never again. I will send a letter to the Better Business Bureau.

I had three other job set up for them I guess they make so much money that they don’t need to worry about the clientele The gentleman was so unprofessional along with whoever was with them so as you can see I am looking for a new carpet cleaner ASAP I know I wouldn’t use them again

We moved to the Austin, TX area and scheduled a grout sealing for all of the tile in the house (hallways, living area, kitchen, back splash, bathroom floors and tub surrounds). The scheduled appointment was three days before the moving truck was scheduled to arrive. Mario up-sold me to include cleaning the brand new grout before sealing it. We went back and forth while I was sitting in the house closing, so i told him to just do it. My credit card was charged instantly $595. My construction manager and community rep were both in my house while Mario Barnard, and Tyron McMillon were supposed to be doing the work. Both stated that the techs brought a hose upstairs, then packed up and left. They were there for literally 5 minutes. I called and spoke with Cody at customer service who discovered the equip was running for 40 min. (it was not in my house). I was advised that this job would take a minimum of 3 hours. Cody rescheduled for a different crew to come do the work. Well, all of my furniture and boxes had arrived at that point. The more I thought about the lack of professionalism the angrier I got- They took advantage of me and now 1/3 of my floor is covered. I called Cody back twice, Left one message requesting a call back and full refund. I have not heard or seen either. Please advise when my refund will be deposited in full. Stanley is no longer recommended in my new home community.

WORSE SERVICE EVER!!! THEY CAME IN AND USED COLD WATER TO SOAK MY COUCH, LOVE SEAT, CHAIR AND COUSIONS. THEY ARE NOW MOLDY. ONTOP OF THAT THEY LEFT A MESS ALL OVER MY FLOORS AND TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE THEY LOOK OLD ANYWAY. I CALLED CORPORATE WHO DID NOTHING. I WILL TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT TO RECOVER AS MUCH AS I CAN. NEVER USE THIS SERVICE.

Complaint: Billing Mistake/Billed Twice
I had cleaning service completed last week from the Pittsburgh PA for 3 rooms and a hallway. The service was fine but the billing aspect is a NIGHTMARE to say the least.
This company billed my credit card twice with an overcharge now of almost $300.00.
I called the Pittsburgh office to let them know this and they said they would submit a credit on my card. It has been 2 days and my bank has told me there is no pending credit they can see on my card. I called back today to speak with this office, this girl named Lori is very rude!! This company double charges their customers on service! I would not use this company unless you pay cash! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I gifted a sofa cleaning to my son and made the appt. The crew made a huge mess spraying deodorizer across the room from the sofa on the piano and walls. The sofa was saturated and the floor scratched. There is also a missing Ipad and they were the only ones in the house. They were in and out several times during what was explained to me would be a simple process. The service rep I spoke to said she would contact me again on Wednesday and I have heard nothing. I need to speak to someone who cares about your company’s ethic.
