Every time we go to the Inverness Sonny’s BBQ, they are out of steak knives. When you ask a server all they say is “yes I know I will have to go wash you a knive”.
What kind of place are YOU running there????? Can’t the manager order more knives???

I ordered a birthday dinner for my son on 8/14/2022 and it was a 60.00 bill. I chose delivery, it said it could be a 3rd party delivery and that is ok. I put my order in and paid on Sonnys website sonnysbbq.com/locations/spring-hill and paid here order.sonnysbbq.com/menu/spring-hill . The order went out for delivery and we watched the map to see when it would be here. It said less than 1 min. The delivery person went right past our house to the highway and crossed over and sat there for 10 mins. Just sitting there. I called Sonnys and talked to Tom the manager, he said I would have to call door dash because they are the ones that I paid. I said I paid Sonnys and he argued with me and got upset at me because I did not pay door dash I paid Sonnys and I just want to know what this person is doing sitting on the side of the road with our order. He hung up after telling me the number to door dash and to go there for a refund. I called door dash and when I did got an answering machine. The person who I assumed was a girl Kristen M showed up and dropped the order off on the porch, a very tall man and he left. The order was very cold and all the fries were missing from the boxes of steak burgers /w fries. The lids on the macaroni and cheese were cracked as was the one on the baked beans. At this point I just can’t eat the food for it being cold and messed with. I called back to Sonnys and talked to another manager named Sean / shawn? and he went on to tell me there is nothing they will do because I paid door dash for my order and they paid Sonnys. I have a copy of my receipt from the cc compnay and it says right on it they paid Sonnys and so does the receipt in my hand . I talked to a lady named Lorie from door dash and she was a manager she said she will get with Sonnys and get my refund. She send me an email and said I did not pay Door dash I paid Sonnys so I will have to contact them for my refund. SO HERE I AM still getting no where and am so aggitated. We spend every holiday and event with family and friends at Sonnys dine in in Spring Hill, but delivery will NEVER happen again and I will be sure to put out my reviews and ratings on this asap. No one should have to have their birthday dinner ruined by these people. I will continue to try and get this fixed but so far they are ignoring me saying I didn’t pay them.

Came to Sonnys BBQ on July 15, 2021. I ordered 3 pork sandwich’s on fresh garlic bread with the pork chopped extra fine center cut meat and no hard pieces. I also ordered 2 fresh crispy fries and a sweet tea. One of the sandwich’s was a big deal birthday meal. I have ordered my meat this way for years as the outside cut chokes me so I ask for it to be cut that way. Heather took my order and complained the whole time she was taking my order and typing it in on the computer. She finally brought my order over and I opened the top sandwich and the bread was fresh and the meat looked pretty chopped so I figured the others were ok so I left. I had a 2 hour doctors appointment and was tired and ready to get home as I had an hours drive home. Halfway home I took a sip of my sweet tea and it was unsweet. Heather had made my tea and has waited on me for many years so why would she give me unsweet tea? The fries were fine. Little did I know that my sandwiches had hard outside meat all through out the 3 sandwiches. When I arrived home at 3:30pm I decided to wait a little bit to eat. I fell asleep and did not open my sandwich till around 6pm and I was totally upset that it was not what I ordered. I nuked it in the microwave for 30 seconds like I always do and was trying to eat what I could. My daughter was not happy with her food either. My son-in-law ended up throwing his away because it hurt his mouth to eat it. He was at work and he never heats his food up as he eats his room temperature. I picked up the phone and tried to call Chris who I had dealt with once before and he gave me his number in case I ever had trouble again but when I called him I guess I wrote the number down wrong. I called the Marietta store and talked to Lou and she got real hateful with me and told me I should have checked my food and that she would not replace it. So instead of driving over 20 miles to go back for them to replace it I called the Corporate Office and left a message. I got a call back about 7pm from some manger that I had talked to last year to report how rude the managers are at the Marietta store and I explained to him what happened and he told me that because I waited till 6pm to eat my sandwich that he could not replace it and that it probably got hard from the 30 seconds I heated it in the microwave. The meat was hard before I ever put it in the microwave and it has never ruined it before when the meat is done correctly. I don’t feel that I should have to check my food if they do it correctly. I have been a loyal customer of Sonnys for over 40 years and I love the BBQ better than any place around but I feel like I am losing a battle that I can’t win. I told whoever that was on the phone that I would not be back because I am tired of spending my money on scraps you give the people through the drive thru.. I spend over $200 a month or more a month but I can and will take my business to other restaurants that appreciate my business and I don’t have to ask them to make my food the way I want it but one time and they remember me and it is done correctly. Chris took care of me about 5 months ago and replaced my food because they shorted the meat on all 3 sandwiches and I took pictures for proof. I also ordered and paid for 2 orders of fries and an order of eggrolls and corn nuggets so I did order something and paid for it. I didn’t just get the replacement food and leave. I also have know Tracy that manages the kitchen at one of Atlanta stores for a long time and he knows me and always made my food for me years ago when he was at the Spring Rd store, then he was at the Hiram store, and Marietta Store until he went back to Jonesboro to do catering. Order every other week and this was the first time for this. The excuse was that it was under new ownership…. Just ask lunch at the Sonny’s on Waldo Rd. in Gainesville, Fl. They are handing out short paper straws except for this one waitress. We go to go teas and I asked if we could get plastic straws and our waitress went on about the paper ones are all they have. Clearly she is blind because the table next to us and the one across from us all had plastic. As we were leaving I asked for a complaint card and instead the girl brought back another girl who is suppose to be the manager. I asked for a comment/complaint card and explained the situation and questioned why we couldn’t get them when the customers of the other waitress had them. Still no comment card so I told her I would go on line and voice my complaint. So here it is.

I personally love Sonny’s but today, they totally dropped the ball BIG TIME! We placed an order for a work lunch, one day in advance. It was total of 6 meals in one order. We are located in Crescent City, our manager drove all the way to Palatka, FL (45 mins) to pick up our food, She goes inside and gives her name for the order, when the hostess says to her, “oh we lost/misplaced your order.” She was not apologetic at all and was very nonchalant, because she obviously didn’t care. Where are her customer service skills? Come to find out that the employees were too “busy” taking care of a “catering” order and that was the reasoning behind our order being misplaced. This is not acceptable. These employees didn’t even have the courtesy to call us to try and recover our order. There must be a computer system in which the order was placed, otherwise, how is it that the catering order wasn’t misplaced but ours was? It doesn’t make any sense. We are understanding that mistakes happen, we are human, but no one tried to remedy this and that is what is most disappointing. There was no apology or even an attempt of a resolution.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Sonny’s located at 641 Mt. Zion Rd. Jonesboro, GA 30236. Today I was reminded why the most horrible experience ever. I was already feeling under the weather so I called in an order at 4pm and was told it would be ready for pick up at 4:30. So I sent someone to pick up my order for me since I am under the weather and not feeling well to drive myself. At 4:30 the order had never been put in let along ready. I ordered a pulled chicken plate, smoked wings and egg rolls. When I received my order I had a rib plate with and the wings were left out completely. Then it took a hour for my order to become ready. I called the restaurant and requested the manager. I advised her that my order was wrong AND the remainder of my order was missing. The manager argued with me to tell me that my order was right there and had been ready since 4:30. I told her that was false bc I was standing in my kitchen with the incorrect order and upon arrival my order hadn’t been prepared yet. So the manager gets irrate with me amd screams asking me well what do I want bc they are busy. WOW! Where’s the professionalism. There was no I apologize for the mix up especially considering the fact that I do not eat pork yet they gave me a rib platter. There was no we will fix it or anything. So I asked her for her name and told her that I was going to call and report this and her to corporate. Of course YES she hung up in my face. This place has the absolute service from certain waitresses all the way to management. It is the not customers fault they did not staff the shift peoperly to be able to handle the overlfow of service that came through today. I’m sure that someone is antipating their ribs like I was anticipating those smoked chicken wings. I am HUGE on customer service and when it sucks you can beat your bottom dollar I never return. This was the worse by far!

I’m never contact any corporation before until now, to start this disrespect , rudeness and a very bad service that we went thru with this people is over the border, we had enough , last one was Sunday night we place order over the phone and a girl name TARA answer the phone , and from the beginning to the end of the order was very rude , and also put me on hold for no reason , 2 minutes later complete my order, went to pick up our food with my daughter 10 minutes later , I did ask her for 2 extra sweet BBQ , sauce and she through a bunch of bags over the counter like 10 o more , I told the manager about her attitude, and she said that she’ll talk to her, by the way not a first time that TARA treat us like that. I paid and left, we got home , start serving the food and I found a hair in the macaroni and cheese , I did call went back with the food, no one single customer was on the bar , only the cooks and a couple female servers, laughing and watching the game, VALERIA the manager , was just laughing all time when I was talking and make me feel very humiliated I walk out crying , was the worse experience that I ever had in my whole life, if someone really care about this business please fix this issues .

We went to the one on Little Road in New Port Richey. I ordered banana pudding. It came with no bananas. When I said something I was told they don’t put real bananas in it it’s just Banana flavored. The menu however clearly states it contains fresh bananas. Needless to say I returned it. A small thing but it really bothered me.

Sonny’s BBQ use to be my favorite restaurant in the USA. Has someone from New York became the CEO of Sonny’s…? Someone out there is trying to destroy the restaurants reputation and after my experience yesterday, I doubt I will ever go back.
My brother was coming home from Charlotte on 4/27/18 and I have always bragged to him about how good Sonny’s was so he decided to stop by and pick us up some beef brisket to bring to WV. He dined in while he was there so on his drive home I called and ask him how he liked the beef brisket and I could tell by the tone of his voice he didn’t really care for it so I just thought he must have gotten a bad batch. When I received my order and I opened the container to eat mine I new immediately that this wasn’t what I was expecting….it was long stringy roast beef with no smoke flavor and so tough I don’t think a sledge hammer would have tenderized it.
My first clue that Sonny’s was going down hill was 3 or 4 years ago when I visited a store in Richmond, KY. My favorite at Sonny’s was the original thin slice smoked beef and I learned that day that Sonny’s had quit serving this as an item and started selling the more traditional beef brisket which wasn’t bad but nothing near as good as the original so I had the sliced pork which was my 2nd favorite choice at Sonny’s. I didn’t really think to much about it as my sliced pork was excellent as it usually was but I started questioning why such a popular BBQ chain was changing things that brought on its success.
I can provide pictures of what I received if anyone is interested but I think that will be my last time eating at Sonny’s or recommending them. I am not complaining to receive a free meal or a discount…..I just would hope that the restaurant would go back to it roots and not be scammed into changing the way it originally prepared the food. I never checked but they may have even discontinued the sliced pork…..if not that will probably be next…..so whoever you got making these decisions to change the way these items was originally intended to be will ending up hurting the business in my humble opinion.

I went up to Sonny’s in Lake City Florida to order a rack of ribs St. Louis style and was told they no longer sell racks of ribs. It’s a shame because I’m sure the decision was made so they could make more money. I’m only one person and I’m sure my voice doesn’t matter however as long as Sonny’s has chosen to not sell rack of ribs any longer I will no longer give Sonny’s my business. We just took another chance on our local Sonny’s. Every time we order ribs to go they are mostly the over cooked and hard inedible ribs. Been happening for years. Tonight my husband bought 2 pull pork sandwiches 1 brisket dinner and side of saint louise style ribs. Could not eat the ribs again. I was a Resteraunt manager I hate these complaints. Some times. things aren’t perfect. But for the last 10 years this has been happening. Only to go orders. Sonny’s BBQ – 5910 Florida Ave S, Lakeland, FL 33813 – It doesn’t matter what day or what time we ask for pulled chicken, they always always say that it is not available. We usually just ask for the manager at that point and then it’s miraculously available. Someone there must just really not like to pull chicken, last time’s order was so full of bones & gristle, my dog choked on it. I thought I’d give them one more chance this evening, and again I was told they didn’t have any chicken. I informed the girl on the phone that I always have to ask for the manager to get pulled chicken for my family and asked how a famous BBQ restaurant is always out of chicken. She just got rude, raised her voice, and kept repeating “EXCUSE ME”, “EXCUSE ME”!! I insisted on her manager and when someone finally came to the phone, IF it was the manager, I advised her of the rude employee then she curtly took my order, but told me it was going to be a 2-1/2 hour wait. Obviously my family wasn’t going to wait 2-1/2 hours for dinner so we opted elsewhere. I didn’t cancel the order however, maybe someone else can enjoy it. But we have crossed Sonny’s BBQ in south Lakeland off our food choices.

I stopped at Sonny’s in Eustis Fl. on a date. The food was Great, the server was nice fast and friendly the place was crowded but the food was served in fast time. I paid on a debit card and left a $5.00 tip. The next day the amount showed up correct on my banking account $(34.74) so I checked it off. The next day I was doing more banking and I noticed it had jumped to 42.74. I went to the bank to find out what was going on and they confirmed that the amount of eight dollars had been added to the first amount electronically after the first amount came in. WHAT IS GOING ON?? Some one seems be stealing money on the side off the company! I know a corporation such as Sonny’s would not knowingly allow this to go on. One other person at the bank told me this had happened to them at another Sonny’s location. DOES NEED TO BE CHECKED OUT. fraudulent use of my credit is a crime.

July 13, 2017 went to the location in Haines City, FL. I sent them an email with no response back of course. This location cares nothing about customers or customer service.I ordered 2 sandwiches it took 20+ minutes to get the drivethru order which was wrong and incomplete I found after returning home to eat. I actually received less than one sandwich. This location wants to make sure there is no customer feed back so no cantact information is ever provided. If Sonny’s was a totally owned operation there could be a resolution to the constant lack of quality and service via a internal review and corrective action to maintain the quality and service of the company; since the customer no longer has any avenue to obtain assistance for quality and service bordering on criminal once again the customer is the looser. I would not be in the least surprised to read about Sonny’s restaurants closed for health department violations and customers hospitalized for food poisioning and death. Yes, the situation is that bad-worst infact but noone will ever really know since reports and customer concerns all just float away into the “corporate (as if there were even one) never never land

seeing all the complaints I know this will do nothing but to just inform ?.but thats ok because I will also be posting a complaint on a couple of other places.will never go to any sonnys again.my family has been going to sonnys bbq for years in our hometown.which is why we decided to go to the one in merritt island while we were staying out of town.it was wednesday july 12,2017.there were 6 of us.place was not busy so we got seated right away.I ordered and pointed on the menu to what I wanted to the young lady server I wanted a sliced pork sandwich on garlic bread she said no problem..and to add the 2 dollar side and drink but did not want a drink as I ordered water.but 2 dollars for the side was cheaper then ordering just a side.my mom ordered the same thing.we chose ff for our side.sever asked us what other side we wanted.I asked her if we got to get 2 sides.she said yes.I thought since we didnt get a drink that she gave us an extra side.we ordered coleslaw.my step father wanted to order franks and beans which he gets at our home town sonnys but was not on the menu so she went to ask and said she was new so didnt know.ok came back said he could get it.great.we got our food and other then my mom only got one piece of garlic bread which we pointed ou.and she said something about a pork dinner we told her we ordered the pork sandwich.she looked confused but didnt say anything. and she got more bread.and my grand daughter ordered the kids chicken with macaroni and corn on the cob side and got ff and we had to ask for the corn which after awhile she brought.no big deal untill we got our bills.she charged us for a pork dinner.I pointed it out and told her again we ordered the pork sandwich.she said we ate the extra sides.I said I thought we got them because we did not take the drink.again she was confused and didnt know what to say nor offered to fix it.also they charged 12 dollars for 2 hot dogs and a small bowl of beans.really?I asked to see a manager.she went to the back was gone a long time lol I know she was making it sound like we were giving her a hard time and trying not to pay ect.finally some 20 year old guy came out the manager.I explained it all to him he said nothing at all.wanting to be done and get the heck out cause now i am really mad.I asked if he was going to adjust our bill.he shook his head and said nothing.we also asked about the high price for the hot dogs.he said thats the set price.it wasnt even on the menu so he made that price up.I asked him if the girl is his girlfriend.cant believe how desperate they are to show sales on a slow night.and to let a server who admitted she was new get away with no training.we had a similar incident in tampa at that sonnys last month got over charged there too.this used to be a nice family reasonable priced place to eat.this place had a small full bar and the server takes the check to pay no cashier.sonnys trying to be upscale overpriced bbq.that can only hire very young cheap labor with attitudes.I payed the over charged bill was sooo not happy about it.will make sure everyone I know know what happened I know alot of people.will will go to a real upper class restaurant worth the money to pay.the sonnys in my town closed and I think the one in the next town is going to close I know alot of locals have stopped going because of the prices.could care less if I ever see another one

Someone from HQ needs to visit the Sonny’s in Clermont – 1500 Hwy. 50, Clermont. Their ribs are NASTY and now there are 50+ comments going on Facebook how bad they are. Many people not going back because of bad food and bad smells. Our last visit was the same. The ribs were so tough and grainy we could not eat them. We told our waitress and she said she would speak to the manager. We never saw the manager. Maybe he wasn’t even there or was very tired of the negative comments.

You should really consider putting a SonnysBBQ in williamstown ky where they’ve built the ark ..I think you can make a killing .. there’s only a few places like McDonald’s or Wendy’s and a Cracker Barrel in dry ridge my 4 miles north of williamstown .. personally I love Sonnys .. I have to drive 45-50 miles south to Richmond my to eat there … williamstown is about 25 south of Florence Ky and there’s no BBQ places worth eating at .. if you bring Sonnys to williamstown ky or Dry Ridge ky I’m sure you would not be disappointed.. you would get a lot of the surrounding counties … the Ark stays full with tourist and really no place good to eat.. please consider this ..I really think it would be worth your wild and would bring in a lot of tourists to your establishment.. thank you .. This place looks good after the remodeling…BUT…I have to tell you …the floor is so greasy that i almost hit the floor…!!!
As someone with a prosthetic leg that is the last thing I want to do.

Went to your Bradenton east location to eat…worst experience… will never come back. Staff was overwhelmed and the food took forever. When it did arrive it was cold … took another 25 mins for reorder only to find food still cold… never offered refill on drinks.

Went to the local sonnys that we frequently visit at least once a week sometimes more with a family of 5. When we sat down tonight we had our other family with us bringing it to 10 people. We got about half way through eating our food and then other people came in claiming they had reservations for 20 which the waitress said there was none on the book. Within 5 minutes they had decided that they were going to seat them in this area there was only room for 17 of the 20 people however it was a small room and now it had 27 people in it. When something was said to the manager the response was oh well we weren’t trying to push you out. Sad that it is the way that customers are treated just to make a dollar.

My family and I drove 1 1/2 hours to the Sonnys and Baton Rouge LA. Only to find out it wasn’t even open. I looked them up online before we left and it said it would be open on google from 11am-9pm. I am very disappointed and upset. We’ve been looking forward to it for a week, especially since we don’t get time like this on a regular day. Please do something about this, so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

My husband and I normally, like Sonny’s BBQ and have stopped in Thomasonville before but this spot needs help! It took us 40min to get our food and then the redneck egg rolls and fried okra were burnt. When we complained my food was taken to “show” the manager. Never to be seen again. Very disappointed in the management! Sad part they weren’t busy . I would like my money back

Very upset I ordered two pounds of sliced pork to go.The pound in the bottom of the box was all scraps.Very small pieces. Top pound looked great. It makes me think this was done on purpose. Because I checked the box before I left. It looked just fine. I dont think you should get rid of scraps by hiding them on the bottom. I live 25 miles from the store or I would have returned it for a refund. I not sure why I would stop again knowing this was done. I just called one of your stores the one on Lane Avenue in Jacksonville Florida and I was going to order wings will never again from your store because now you are selling them by the pound 899?? a pound really people that is sad and pathetic sounds like somebody is money hungry because 899 a pound for wings really sad sad sad I doubt I will go to Sonny’s ever again I used to like it but looks like they went up on everything on their menu. Pretty sad and pathetic 899 a pound that I can’t get over that! Y’all think about money and they don’t give a s*** about their customers pretty sad and pathetic have a Merry Christmas. By the way you can get a large sweet tea for a dollar at McDonald’s or dollar 1.29 instead of paying 2:59 for a sweet tea really. We will be going to Dick’s Wings for now on instead of you when we used to go to both will guess what Dick’s Wings on major place to get wings because they’re not charging by the pound whatever idiot thought about that needs his head examined or is a greedy ass he wants money money money when people having a hard time and want to go out every once in awhile 899 a pound really that is blowing my mind but you don’t care.
