Shipley Do-Nuts was founded in 1936 by Lawrence Shipley, in Houston, Texas. Shipley spent a great deal of time perfecting what he believed was the perfect donut. The original price for a dozen donuts was 5 cents. By the 1940’s, the donuts had become to popular that the company began selling them in retail locations.
Today, Shipley Do-Nuts has 400 locations in 6 states, with plans to have 500 stores or more by the year 2020. What sets Shipley Do-Nuts apart from the rest are that the company not only bakes them fresh each day, they bake small batches so most customers will enjoy a hot, fresh donut that is minutes old, rather than hours old.
The company also offers a wide range of beverages including coffees, espresso, cappuccinos, and iced coffee drinks. Franchising began in the 1950’s. Shipley Do-Nuts also offers catering and pre-orders for large groups.

I moved to Pineville La and thought all Shipleys had to offer the same donuts at all their stores, as a franchise. At their one little store, in Pineville la. They do not make chocolate glazed donuts and refuse to make them. Whats up with that? I’ve only been there once and found that out and won’t go back.

1218 Bitters Rd suite#101 in San Antonio, Texas. Someone from the corporate office needs to check this location out. They are serving junk donuts each time I go! I live about 1 mile away from the location and I’ve been a long time fan and loyal customer to Shipleys! I drive 4 miles out to the other near location which serves quality donuts!

I love Shipley’s donuts. I always get the chocolate filled ones. Well this morning I went to the Shipley’s in Euless Texas on industrial blvd. I was really angry because there was virtually NO CHOCOLATE FILLING. I’m talking less than the size of a fricking dime!!!
I’ve never seen anything like it., that’s why I buy them…. For the chocolate filling!!! I could eat a whole bowl of that stuff….. so to get a donut that basically has NONE is very disappointing. I called to complain to the manager but he had just left so I thought I’d let headquarters know. This is not what people want or expect.

To whom it may concern,
Tears fill my eyes and anguish my heart as I write this letter. Shipley’s has been a long standing staple in our family which symbolized togetherness and laughter. It is our norm to purchase a dozen or so donuts and eat them over the course of a few days as we kid with one another over whose taste the best. Unfortunately that was all wiped away on Monday August 16th, 2021 when my son, Damien thought he was about to enjoy a delicious donut. Instead as he begin chewing, be bit into something extremely hard, and to his horror realized it was a piece of medal which had been baked into the donut, which had been purchased at the Shipley’s located at 6531 FM 78 #101San Antonio TX 78244 on Saturday August 14th, 2021.
Since my son was a young toddler he had been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, which greatly impacts him by heightening his OCD, anxiety and depression. This event caused him to spiral and nearly sent my son over the edge. I don’t know if any of you have children but please imagine for one moment not being able to do anything to calm your child’s fears of impending doom that was caused by the negligence of a company your entire family loves. My son has struggled very hard, fought through countless battles, undergone physical and emotional therapy to merely be able to chew certain foods, hug his own mother, or be in a crowd of people and with one moment of neglect your company almost singlehandedly ruined all of his hard work. I am so angry at you right now. Anyone biting into medal while eating your food is never ok! For the past few days I’ve watched him revert back to barely eating anything as he did as a toddler, because he’s terrified that something is inside of his food. Do not dare fix your lips to tell me we are making too big of a deal out of this or that these things just happen. Let someone you love bite into some random piece of medal while eating and see how calm you would be about this. Below I included a picture of what your company left inside of the food that you prepared. Someone will answer for this.

Poor customer service at location Westfield Prkwy and Fry Rd in Katy, TX.
Loyal customer for over 12 years at this location since store opened in 2006.
I received wrong order, and was asked to drive all the way back to store to bring item back, rather than receiving a curtesy credit. The manager recognized who she was speaking with over the phone, and knowing that I patronize their store every day out of the year. I found her commits to be rude and insulting. She said, “I need that Kolache back” to replace it. This store will now loose $800-$1000 that I spend yearly at their store.
