 Khan decided to incorporate Khan Academy in 2008 and to quit his job in 2009, to focus full-time on creating educational tutorials (then released under the name Khan Academy.

The company originally partnered with search providers to build a platform for raising charitable donations. Supporters of the charities would earn money for the charities while surfing and shopping using white-labeled web browsers.

In 2008, Prodege launched Swagbucks. In April 2016, Prodege bought rewards site MyPoints from United Online for $13 million.

History

MyPoints provides online marketing, consumer polling, and marketing research. Clients answer surveys and earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards.

Blair Corporation was founded in 1910 by John Blair.

Mr. Blair originally took up an offer to sell raincoats. After several unsuccessful attempts at selling the coats, he was asked by an undertaker if he had any attractive black raincoats. He didn’t, but it gave him an idea. By taking advantage of the relatively new rubber vulcanization process to adhere an attractive black wool fabric to the outside of a rubber raincoat, with an inner lining of Scottish plaid.

He paid for 1200 raincoats and sold them all within days.

History

Today, Blair Corporation is one of America’s largest direct marketing mail order retailers, selling clothing and household goods. The company is still in business after more than 100 years.

Orchard Brands acquired Blair in 2007.

In 2015, Orchard Brands was acquired by Capmark Financial to be another business within the Bluestem Brands retail business.
