Today, Aerotek is part of the Allegis Group, which operates under several different names including MarketSource and Getting Hired.

Aerotek is an international talent management firm with $13.4 billion in revenue and more than 19,000 employees as of 2018.

History

In addition to human staffing, Aerotek offers robotics and automation skills.

In July 2021, Aerotek split into three operating companies; the original Aerotek, which provides staffing for logistics, warehousing solutions, manufacturing, and construction; Aston Carter, which focuses on professional staffing, and Actalent, which covers engineering and science.

The Allegis Group is the fourth-largest staffing solutions company in the world, and it maintains a corporate office in Hanover, Maryland.

Allen Corporation of America, Inc., more commonly known as simply Allen Corp, is a professional business-to-business service company offering aviation and training services, cybersecurity software solutions, and logistics services, to private and public sectors. Founded by A. Carl von Sternberg in 1991, Allen Corp. also offers IT services under the name WetStone Technologies.

Allen Corp specializes in cyber security, logistics, and training systems, as well as digital and VOIP communications for both businesses and the private sector.

The Cyber Security division of the company, called Wetstone Technologies, has performed advanced research in the areas of malicious code detection and steganography. 

History

The company has done research for DARPA, the Air Force Research Lab, and the National Institute of Justice, among others.

Allen Corp. is also a McAfee Security Alliance Partner and a McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) Technology Partner.

In September 2022, the company announced groundbreaking technology called Gargoyle MP, which simplifies breach and malware investigations.

Entrepreneur Hur Young-In founded Paris Baguette in 1986. The company operates a multi-national chain of high-end bakeries/cafes.

Once franchising began in 1988, the chain grew quickly. As of May 2022, the company had 3600 stores in South Korea, 100 stores in the USA, and 185 locations in China, Vietnam, Singapore and France.

In October of 2022, a boycott of Paris Baguette took off after a worker at a factory was fatally crushed by a sauce mixing machine. Employees state that the factory did not even close for the day and they were forced to work even as the body of their college was removed from the machine.

History

Shortly before the incident another worker at the factory had sustained an injury to their hand from a production machine but was not sent to the hospital since they were not a full-time worker. Various Korean trade unions have condemned the company due to a history of safety issues and union busting.

The company states that they intend to open 1,000 new locations in the US by 2030.

As of 2013, the company states that it had $1.51 billion (US Dollars) in revenue.

AVG Antivirus was founded in 1991. It operates as a subsidiary of Avast Antivirus Technologies.

The initials AVG stand for Anti-Virus Guard.

The production of a free version enabled the company to grow substantially. Clients can purchase more advanced features, but the basic antivirus software is free to use.

History

As of 2021, the company states that it has 200 million active users and another 100 million who use the software on their mobile devices.

As of 2014, there are numerous reports dating back to 2012 that the AVG SafeGuard Toolbar installs itself without the consent of the user, as a side effect of installing other applications. It uses quite a bit of RAM and once installed, it is virtually impossible to completely remove it.

Despite rave reviews, the software is not without flaws. One hacker found that they could trick the software into becoming data wipers.
