Frontier City

Frontier City was founded in 1958 along what was originally Route 66 by businessmen James Burge and Jack Williams . The park began with a “haunted” farm, mine trails, and bandits. The farm was free, but the gunfight show cost 25 cents.

Today the park has 25 rides, including 3 water rides and 5 roller coasters. With the closure of Bell’s Amusement Park in 2006, Frontier City is the only amusement park left in Okalahoma. The park sits on 55 acres and new attractions are generally added each year. In 2017, plans include a new water ride, a complete overhaul of the Wildcat roller coaster, and a new show featuring music from the 1950’s through the 1970’s will be added.

Frontier City was acquired in late 2016 by EPR Properties for $312 million.

The Bag Boy Golf Company can trace its roots back as far as 1945 when a Portland, Oregon, man named Bruce Williamson, designed the first pull cart type bag carrier made with two lawn mower wheels.

The company has been sold numerous times over the years, including belonging the Jarman Company, the Browinging Arms Company, and finally as a subsidiary of Dynamic Brands, headed by CEO Craig Ramsbottom. The company designs and manufactures a variety of golf equipment, including golf bags, golf carts, coolers, rain canopies, and gloves. The company also rents golf carts.

The Bag Boy Golf Company has headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. Stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and The Lady Golf Store all carry products from the company.

Maid Brigade was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1979 by Don Hay and Bart Puett. The company operates a franchise of housecleaning and housekeeping services.

Currently, the company has more than 400 franchises in 36 states in the US, with locations in Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Ireland. The company was listed in the #181 position of the Top 500 Franchises in 2014 by Entrepreneur Magazine. Maid Brigade is listed as the first housekeeping service to become Green Clean Certified. This certification was awarded by Green Seal in 2007.

In 2009, the company launched a program entitled “The Maid Brigade Veterans Franchise Giveaway”. The program was designed to help US military veterans who were transitioning from military service to private life.

Festival Flea Market was founded in 1991 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Originally an outlet store strip mall, the location was purchased and overhauled in 1991. Renamed the Festival Flea Market Mall, the company is privately owned.

The mall has more than 800 merchants, selling everything from fruits and vegetables to cell phone bling. The mall includes the Hilsboro Antique Mall and covers more than 400,000 square feet. Completely enclosed and air conditioned, the mall is a popular attraction for tourists. Annual revenue in 2015 is estimated at $5.4 million. Current CEO Daniel Shooster was named in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by former CFO Harlene Zweig. The lawsuit contends that Shooster regularly consumed drugs on the property and sexually harassed female employees. Zweig is seeking $1 million in damages in a lawsuit that was filed in September of 2016.

Larry Flint’s Hustler Casino, more commonly known as Hustler Casino, was founded in June of 2000 in Gardena, California. The company operates a card and gaming casino.

The casino is built on land formerly owned by the El Dorado Club, which Flint purchased in 1998. The casino is Flint’s most profitable venture, earning more than $20 million each year. In 2007, the company did a major expansion of the casino, including what is called The Crystal Room, which operates as both a conference room, as well as a poker tournament site.

Flint has hosted what he bills as the “world’s biggest 7 card stud poker game” since 1997. This annual poker game is now played at the casino. As of 2007, minimum buy in is $200,000.
