Pacific Sunwear of California, or PacSun for short, was founded in 1980 by Tom Moore. The company began as a small surf shop in Newport Beach, California.
In 1981, a second location was opened in a shopping mall. The mall location was a huge success.
The company’s focus is on clothing and swimwear for teens and young adults.
By 1987, there were 21 locations, all located in shopping malls.
The company began to struggle when they expanded outside of California. Michael Rayden was hired as CEO.
The company turned things around and had 60 stores by 1993. The company went public the same year.
By 1996, there were 198 stores in 33 states.
The company launched a national advertising campaign in 2011 called Dress Irresponsibly. While the campaign was a success, it also received broad criticism from parents when they noted that some clothing had images of nearly naked women or an inverted American flag.
In 2012, PacSun collaborated with sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner to produce their own fashion line based on their personal style.
In 2016, the company went private again after filing for bankruptcy. PacSun was acquired by Golden Gate Capital that same year.
Today, PacSun has over 600 stores in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Company headquarters are located in Anaheim, California.

I must say that I agree with many of your comments about the complete lack of customer service that you find within Pac Sun. As a college student, years ago, I worked in a well known clothing store in the mall. If we did not provide excellent customer service, then you would lose your job. Nope, not at Pac Sun. These kids are rude, inappropriately dressed, and most likely have never been trained by competent management. My two teenagers love this store, and have been very reluctant to bring them here to shop for clothes. Yet, I did because, well, they like their clothes.
Today marked the day I will never step foot back in a Pac Sun again. We went to a store in an outlet and was informed by their staff that my daughter could only try on 5 articles of clothing, because their corporate told them they had to QUARENTINE their clothes after they were tried on. WHATTTTTTTTTT??? Who are these morons? That was my last straw- I walked out and will never go back .Idiots.

6/14/21 – Went to Pacsun in Schaumburg, IL at Woodfield Mall to return a pair of pants. First music was very loud and I said to the girl at register “I can’t hear you the music is too loud” and she shrugged her shoulders and then the other girl at other register the one with orange/blondish hair heard me a second time and just stared at me. Neither of them was concerned about me saying the music is very loud. Then that girl with orange/blondish hair at other register she was in a black tank top and her breasts were exposed 3/4 of the way, very low plunging and she has i believe a print bottom on (shorts or a very short skirt) that i think was leopard print. I’m sorry but you don’t dress that way and being a representative/employee of any store you need to be professional in selecting appropriate attire in ANY job. After the return transaction was done the girl who did my return did not say Thank You or Thank you for shopping at Pacsun or even a good bye. Those 2 girls were with attitude and disrespectful to me. My opinion, I would not want them working in my store, and where is management to see how their employees treat customers and how they dress.

I am very disappointed that I must write to your company about our recent experience at one of your locations. My daughters love your products. During much of this pandemic since they have not able to visit your locations they have been ordering regularly off of your website. My younger daughter purchased some merchandise which unfortunately did not fit her. As such returning it is necessary. This brings me to our unpleasant experience. The return deadline for this merchandise is this Wednesday. This last Saturday my family was going to find ourselves out, not too far out of the way from your Galleria mall location in Fort Lauderdale. As such I called the store on Saturday 6/20 at 5:15 PM confirming what time they would be open until. I was quoted 7 PM from the person who answered the phone. I called the store again at 6:17 PM while on the way there and confirmed the time and requested to know which entrance would be the closest to their location in the mall so I could park nearby. My wife went to the store to make the return. At 6:40 PM exactly as confirmed by the time stamp on the text message from my wife she was standing outside of the doors and they were locked up. The staff was standing inside the store behind the register all of them on their phones. Prior to texting me my wife knocked on the door and was informed by the gentleman working there that they closed up for cleaning. She stated that she only had a return and was informed by this same gentleman that the registers had been shut off and he could not accommodate her. This is the point at which she texted me and she was there prior to 6:40. I called the store from the car at 6:41. I spoke to this same gentleman and asked what time the store closes. He stated 7 PM. To which I replied then why can’t my wife make the return as she is standing at the door. He told me, because we lock up at 6:45 to clean the store. I stated, it is not even 6:45 yet so why is the store closed. He again reiterated his statement that they lock up for cleaning. During this process none of the staff inside the store were cleaning. They were all just standing around on their phones. He asked if I am the person who called earlier to find out what time the store closed. I stated yes and that if the store locks up at 6:45 why would he tell me that they were open until 7 PM. He stated that because we are open until 7 PM. With much frustration I stated that you are not open until 7 PM if the doors are locked at 6:40 PM and no one can come in. That you closed at 6:40. He again stated that, no, they are open until 7. Realizing that I am dealing with an incompetent moron I gave up in frustration. My wife was alone, she had her proper PPE gear on and was polite in her communication. This was a simple transaction that should have taken no more than five minutes at most. She had the merchandise with tags and her receipt with her. We found this entire exchange unacceptable.
Based upon this experience we will not be purchasing any more of your products. During this time when many businesses are practically begging for business and stores are closing to have your staff flatly express their lack of interest in any customer service and misstate information wasting the consumers time is unacceptable. We made a trip out of our way to be to your store prior to closing with more than ample time to complete our transaction. The fact that your employee took no interest in your customers needs during regular business hours is a reflection on his training and company policy.

Let me start by saying my children absolutely love the store. Most of their clothes come from here. I bought two pair of sweatpants on Black Friday online. One pair didn’t fit and I returned them within the return window. It’s been six weeks and I have never been refunded. I’ve emailed customer service multiple times. I’ve called three times now and spoke with three different people who told me that I will get a gift card in 1 to 8 hours by email. None of this is ever happened and I still have not been refunded. Each person and I have spoke to you has had such a strong accent that they have not understood my email address after repeating it several times. I’m not sure if customer service is in this country. I find returning an item is an absolute nightmare. They do not take PayPal returns PayPal paid returns in the store. Just left me with no choice but to initiate a refund online and mail my item in using their return label. It has been two weeks and I have been told five times by five different customer service representatives that I would receive a store credit within 1 to 8 hours by email. I keep calling back and will continue to call back until I am refunded. I find it hard to believe that since my item has been returned and the appropriate return paperwork was complete but I was never refunded. Customer service is not an adequate department of any capable individuals. This makes me question ever ordering online again. As I said before we spend exorbitant amounts at Pacsun so this is unaccepable.

I ordered a an online order with pacsun that I am still waiting on. it is 80% of someones christmas gift. I have called the company more times than I can image this month. worst customer service. 1st part of the order was delivered to the wrong house. and that part of the order was on backorder and still came before my main order which I am still waiting to receive. this is single handedly the worst company I have ever dealt with and I will tell everyone to avoid anything involving this company online. all I have been getting is the runaround! I still don’t have my order and keep being told I will get it the next day. this has been going on for for a week and a half. I am over it! I will never step foot in the store nor do business with your company again. you have ruined my holiday! I have never had such poor service from a company! I spent a lot of money with you guys and have 0 faith that I am getting this order, I am making a better business bureau complaint cause I am fed up! you guys should be out of business for the way you handle your orders!

It’s cyber Monday! That’s good news I can spend the money on 50% off jeans from my gift card right? No. My card is experiencing “issues”. On there end everything is working and they refuse to let me talk to a manager and say they can only send an email to corporate. Additionally, because of an error on there end, they cannot give me this price tomorrow or a new gift card number. This is the last time I deal with PacSun. In store’s the employees are rude and on the phone no one can help. And on the day where everything is on sale, my gift card, along with a few other people’s I know are not working. Ironic.

I hope you can relay this to ALL your store managers and supervisors. It is against the law to have an employee clock out and make them stay longer before they can actually leave work. This happened to a family member of mine who was told to clock out by a PAC SUN supervisor. My family member couldn’t leave because there were only 2 employees left to close the store. So they had to wait (not on the clock) for that supervisor to finish whatever they had to do. There was even an explanation given by that supervisor on why to clock out. The reason given was that their manager doesn’t like it when employees are clocked in past 10:00pm if only paperwork needed to be done. Needless to say, I am very upset with this situation and it better never happen again.

I recently went shopping with my teenage son at your Brea store in CA and noticed the Playboy clothing for young men displayed. Really? Why? There is NOT one good reason to promote/push this on our youth. As a mom I am disgusted, disappointed, and upset that your company apparently is more concerned about making money than nurturing, supporting, and influencing the next generation in a positive manner. I am sure that you are aware of how pornography affects them, specially at this impressionable age. Not to mention, many young men are struggling with porn addiction because it corrupts their hearts and minds & only promotes lust. I would find it hard to believe that Mr Moore, Mr. Gulmi, Mr. Ziv, and Mr. Brewer would take a Playboy magazine and show it to one of their sons or nephews. American families are trying to raise young men who treat girls respectfully emotionally as well as physically. By selling this clothing brand you are lacking judgment, and being disrespectful to your customers. Don’t forget that it is “us” that keep your business thriving. I will be sharing this with all of my family, friends, and neighbors & acquaintances. Until I see you pull this brand out, I will NOT shop there anymore.

Sorry you got butthurt over somebody pointing out the wrongness of your porn addiction, Jay, but she’s absolutely right.

I was cleaning out my desk and found a PacSun card. After calling your 800 number i found out that the card had a balance of $40 and was issued in 2007. The back of the card specially says that the card does not expire. I have called twice for a replacement and was told that i would get an e card sent to my email. I have not received that mail. Is this standard practice? Well i guess you won. I won’t be shopping at PacSun. You can keep my money.

My daughter and I visited your PacSun store at Woodfield Mall Illinois on April 28, 2019. The entire mall opens at 11:00am but no one came to unlock the door until 11:10am. They clearly saw us waiting, 1 sales clerk was actually sweeping the floor and walked right near the locked entrance. My daughter chose a few things to try on and went to the front counter to ask someone to unlock the dressing room. As my daughter approached 1 girl looked at my daughter and said “ya what’s up?” It looked as though they were annoyed with the interruption. We ended up exchanging a pair of jeans with another and the sales person was very rude to me. During the entire time we were in this store, no one asked us if we needed help or a different size. I can guarantee I will NEVER spend money in that store again. There are several teen clothing stores in that mall that deliver excellent customer service and those are the places we will be shopping at.

I visited your store in Woodfield Mall Illinois Sunday December 16, 2018. My niece wanted to return a shirt she purchased. She had taken off the tags knowing the shirt fit. Unfortunately when she tried it on with the outfit she wanted to wear it with it didn’t work. She had the tags and the original receipt. When she tried to return the item she was told because she had taken off the tags she could not return the item. Hmmm I read the back of the receipt to see what your return policy was. I did see swimwear and undergarments needed the tags on for a return. When I questioned the girl at the register about it she told me the same thing. Nope can’t return if the tags aren’t on. I asked her to please show me where it said that because I didn’t see it. She then said it’s up to the stores discretion as to if a return is excepted. I then asked if I could speak to a manager. She said she was the manager. While our exchange is going back and forth I over hear the woman at the register next to me having an issue also. The other customer asked if she could speak with a manager. The young girl that was helping her stated “I’m the manager “. There was also a young man behind the counter. I asked him if he was a manager He replied yes. I find it incredible that on a Sunday Pacsun would have three managers on duty. Meanwhile I am still trying to understand why the return was unexceptable. The girl that was dealing with me, she said her name was Bailey says in a quiet ugly tone “How do I know if you wore this and now want to return it!” I explained to her that you can tell if an item was worn longer than a few minutes. There were no stains or damage. It still felt and smelled new. There was no perfume odor or body odor. Your store policy of it’s up to the store managers discretion whether or not to except a return would fall more under the category of someone trying to return an item damaged or obviously worn. Miss Bailey then began speaking to me as if I were a three year old. She said she would except the return this time but never ever again. Which she repeated several times. She did say she could issue a store credit but would not give my nice her money back also in an unprofessional tone. To which we replied that’s fine. Then for the next ten minutes two of your store managers tried to issue a store credit. They couldn’t figure it out. Eventually they wound up refunding the amount back to my nieces credit card. I have worked in retail. I understand the difficulties of finding good employees. This particular store needs a lot of help. The store itself was a mess. Not sure what the whole deal is with everyone being a manager. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. I would suggest more training or retraining. Reading the reviews on here is troubling. Unfortunately Pacsun will lose customers. There is too much competition in this industry. I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere

Just visited Pacsun in the Fox River mall in Appleton WI and was not impressed while walking up to the register and seeing the cashiers butt checks hanging out of her shorts. Then when she stood up and turned around my young daughters were shocked when her tube top was showing way too much. I asked to speak to a manager and she informed me that she was the manager. I then informed her it was pretty inappropriate to be wearing hardly anything while working, only to have a girl with blue hair join her side and glare and roll her eyes at my family. I then decided to walk out and leave my purchase at the counter, costing you about $40 this visit and guaranteeing I will not spend anymore money at Pacsun. I don’t expect a strip show or your staff to try to intimidate me or my family.

I have recently had a very bad experience. I have a pacsun membership and shop there frequently, however my experience last week convinced me otherwise. I went in to return something, so I returned it and also put something else on hold. After browsing I decided to leave the store. The manager was under the impression that I was coming back so never completed my return, which is understandable and possibly my mistake. However, when I called back and was informed that I had to go back to the store to complete the return, the manager was very rude and unfriendly. The store is way out of my way and a huge inconvenience to stop by to fix a silly mistake. When I explained my inconvenience, the manager only gave me more sass and had a very rude tone. I am upset to say that I no longer desire to shop here and continue my membership.

CINCINNATI, Kenwood store advertising in big, bold signs “Denim Buy 1 get 1 50% off” …. signs right over the denim shorts. Worker says “oh that’s not for the shorts” so I ask why the sign is over the denim shorts and dog just says denim. He says “it says for various styles or maybe it says excluding shorts” I ask where it says that… he points to tiny font at bottom of sign that is so small he cannot even read it. I pointed out that this is false advertisement. A girl worker tries to come to his rescue but she cannot explain or justify the false advertisement either. She finally says “We just do what they tell us to” There you have it; PAC Sun aims at teens, has false advertisement, and blind soldiers working fir them. We explored Hollister and American Eagle and found much better product from honest companies.

YesPacSun has a long history of false advertising of promotions with either too general of exclusions or none being disclosed. Considering a class action filing, or at minimum pursuing this with the BBB and FtC and I would advise you to do the same.

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY !!!! … to point of taking action with my lawyer as well as social media and media !!!! … I bought a jacket from your store in East bay San Francisco Marine Rd . location for xmas . In this month i was in Portland Oregon on a work contract and told this store I wanted to return the jacket as it was to tight in the neck area for me and I was in Portland … Hadn’t been worn tags on with receipt … Perfect condition … I told the manager I was driving back I told them it would be a day or so past your return date … They told me that was OK … I could bring it in and they’d make the exception this time. I phone to tell them I’m back and I’m coming to East bay to return it and set a time … 1st I get no problem … Then I get oh I have to ask the manager which I already talked to … Then I call and it’s a whole new group of people then from who I originally talked to and that manger tells the employee no and won’t give me her name or let me talk to them … And won’t give me the district manager … I was upset as I was literally told I could return it for refund from a manager at same store …she won’t give me corporate won’t talk to me , wouldn’t give me corporate or anything … Well if this is how you treat your customers … I m lodging a campaign to let everyone know this is how you treat and respect our patronage … I own a business … I ve been in business for 30 years … There is alot of condition out there and bad publicity gets around especially if it’s broadcasted to certain target markets and platforms … I ask that your corporation rectifies this …. I have contacted my lawyer to discuss it out of principal of the thing … I have never been through such rudeness from this manager … She wouldn’t give me any customer setvice or talk to me, denied me giving me any further information on ypur company or her information or the district managers information or corporate information … And made me aweful … The whole experience was awefull and should your company not contact me … I know as a customer your not interested in my repeat business and will broadcast this to your target markets … I hope you value your customers business.

I visited your Wrentham, Massachusetts store last night and had the worst shopping experience that I can recall. We were never greeted, asked if needed help, or made to feel welcome at all.
The manager was rude to my daughter about the shirt sizes (so she would stop looking through the pile ) Instead of coming over to assist us, she just yelled loudly from across the store.
When I inquired about a sweatshirt being available on the website, she rudely stated “I have no clue” instead of trying in any way to help.
When we were ready to check out, I had to ask for help because the manager had the staff all cleaning up to close the store when I asked for someone to check us out , I let her know she was rude and screamed from across the store “I didn’t even talk to you , I’m just trying to close the store” Really???? The customers should not be made to feel rushed, or unwelcome because the store is closing, they should be valued as the final sales for the the day.
The worst part was as I exited the store , she snapped a t-shirt that she was folding right in my face!!! Who does this to a women who is 9 Months pregnant?????
The condition of the store was horrendous, there were 2 large boxes in the middle of the isles, which is a fire hazard and no attempt was made to move them so we could shop the merchandise they were blocking.
Safe to say I will not be shopping PacSun again for my 2 teenagers and I hope you look into the fire hazard risk at your stores, as well as the attitudes of your staff towards paying customers.

I just had to speak out and say that I will never shop at your store again!! I took my 14 year old school shopping and as we were browsing through the boys t shirts I came across a very inappropriate tshirt … It had a picture of a naked woman on it !! What kind of store sales something like that to teens ?! I find it very offensive and totally inappropriate and disgusting !! Yeah I know it probably sells to some but not everyone is turned on by filth !! Be classy Pac Sun and clean up your image. I am sure you could care less about losing one customer but I am going to stand up and speak out for those like me who find disgusting shirts offensive. And any boy who wears that shirt to school will be against the dress code. Make it right and step up to higher standards.
Vanessa says
First off I’m not sure why you’d take your 14 year old shopping at a store that is directed towards young adults and not adolescents. Second if you don’t like it no need to shop with pacsun. Also if you knew anything about the brand it’s more of laid back socal style, which they also take trends that attract young adults again not for teens. So if you want 14 year old boy appropriate apparel try Target, or get over it. You’re like 1 in 10 who find offense.

Wow, Jay, you are quite a piece of . . . ahem, “work.” No one was discussing what turns anyone on, so why would you ask such an ignorant question? Angie’s point pertains to a shirt that she — and most other parents — would find highly offensive for their teenage son. Obviously you must be a PacSun employee because a) you are incredibly OBNOXIOUS and b) you have gone out of your way to clap back at every negative comment on here. Poor thing, you obviously take this stuff waaaay too personally. But nonetheless, it is all TRUE. This is why PacSun went bankrupt before and it’s undoubtedly headed for it’s last breath SOON.

A couple of weeks my 15 year old bought 2 tops from your store in Stonebriar Mall Frisco texas. There were signs inside and outside the store saying all tops buy on get one half off. When my daughter checked out, they charged her reg price for both
She ask why she did not get one 1/2 off like all the signs stated. They said oh these are not included? I had sent her with cash to buy school clothes while shopping with friends. When she got home both shirts did not xo.ply with dress code in our school. Which by the way most of your over priced clothes do not, at least in Texas. When my daughter went back to mall i told her she needed to return. She had her receipt and both pieces had the price tag. They told her she needed a is to return them. She offered her student is and they said they could not accept it. Remember she is 15 and does not have a drivers license. I had to meet her in the mall and give them my license to get a refund, plus they had to get my email phone number etc. Ridiculous! This was a cash purchase and I was very irritated with the the whole process
Then to be told by the manager, that her student is would work. Needless to say, no more shopping at Pacsun, not a user friendly place to shop at all.

To whom it may concern:
I was shopping in the Victoria gardens store (Rancho Cucamonga, ca) this evening (7/24/2017) with my daughter right before closing time and witnessed several concerning events. First, the store was playing explicit music with f-bombs booming through the store. Second, the only female employee working (don’t know her name, but she had long, straight dark hair and was working until closing) said to a coworker “what the f**?!” For all to hear. And finally, the same female employee was wearing a PAC sun Jean jacket with the sales tag still attached (not sure if it was hers/purchased or if she was “borrowing” it), but it struck me as odd. I have spent a number of years in retail management and I know that I would have wanted someone to let me know if these things were occurring in my store. I thought someone should know. Thank you for your time.

In C/O Pacsun Headquarters;
To whom it may concern,
I shop at your Northtown Mall Spokane Washington location on average 2-3 times a month and every once in a while at your Spokane Valley Mall location.
My complaint is against a Sales Associate at your Northtown Mall location, Bryen Rommel. I Witnessed a conversation between Bryen and an African American gentlemen about Bryen giving the other gentlemen Pacsuns apparel (without Bryen paying for it) in trade for illegal narcotics. From the conversation I overheard this wasn’t the first time it had transpired. I overheard this whole conversation and it didn’t include any other employees but Bryen Rommel and the illegal narcotics were Cocaine, Molly and Xanax . I would hope that my efforts don’t land on deaf ears or this is swept under the rug because this is some pretty severe illegal actions and I surely wouldn’t want my teenage children ever hearing about such actions . Please get rid of sales associates that not only steal but choose to obtain illegal narcotics at their place of employment! Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope it is dealt with swiftly and justly.
Sincerely,

I went into Pacsun at the liberty center in Cincinnati after working 4 hospital shirts, I was exhausted! I was never once greated when I entered the store. As I’ve too worked in retail I know sometimes it’s hard to greet everyone , so I didn’t care.. I continued looking for items I wanted to try on everything I touched kept falling off the rack, so I kept picking it up and then when I’d bend over my stuff was falling off the hangers and I was getting frustrated. I gave up looking and wanted to try on my items. I asked the guy at the counter and he told me to go ask the guy at the front so I walk up to the front of the store and asked the guy if I could please get a dressing room. The guy at the front rolls his eyes at me and says go ask the guy at the counter I then said politely “he asked me if I could ask you”. So he rolls his eyes at me again and walks back there with an attitude then asked how many items I had (protocol I get it) I replied 8, and all my items AGAIN kept falling off my hangers(which he didn’t attempt to help me pick up) so I tried to count again… He then re counted the items I just struggled to count . I finally finish trying stuff on and I asked if I could hold the items for a second so I could run to another store . They closed in 25 minutes I said I’d be back in 20 he rolled his eyes and took my stuff! I’ve never felt this way shopping in any other store! And again I’ve worked retail and I know it can be draining sometimes, but you’re getting paid, you need to be nice and respectful to your customers and I was never rude to either of them!

I recently visited the Pacsun in Providence to shop for my son. The manager there was very disrespectful. He was berating the other employees out loud in front of everyone. And making sexual comments to the male employees and hitting on male customers. I was disgusted. Will never shop with my son there again. How can a store have someone represent them when they act like that. So disappointing.

My son buys all his clothes at the Pacsun branch at Altamonte Mall, Florida. Recently, the employees have begun demanding I produce my ID for credit purchases or else they refuse to ring up the items. I also noticed that not all customers were required to produce ID. Two minutes prior to my attemped purchase I had a return done to that same card and no demand to produce my ID. Is it a double standard because of my ethnicity? I left the store upset and my son extremely disappointed as I had to leave his jeans on the counter.

So I went online to shop for this years shorts and other clothes because I had a gift card from last year i wanted to use. Went to checkout only to find out the giftcard had only $20.40 on it. This was to my amazement because it had over $140 on it after the issue last year. Now to the issue I’m referring to. I went into a store to get some boardshorts for floating that weekend. The store did not have my size in stock (34) and so the manager on duty that was running the register told me she could order them. I ordered several pairs because there was a sale (over $140). She told me its easier to buy a giftcard so she could do the online sale easier so i did for the amount. she then used the giftcard to make the purchase i received an email for the order and left the store. Later that day i got an email saying the order was canceled. I went back to the store to find out what happened. The person working that day didnt know what happened but looked around for the giftcard to see if it was still there. It was along with several others. What appeared to happen was the manager was doing this and stashing the gift cards to sell or use later not sure. But i got my giftcard back none the less. Mad at the situation i didnt try and buy anything that day. I took it home put it up. While cleaning I found it in my safe and decided to go ahead and use it. Well she must have written the number down or something and bought stuff with it because like i stated over $120 on it is now gone. This has to be a crime and should be dealth with. I can provide the card details to anyone willing to research this. The store was in the Joplin, MO mall.

I purchased a $25.00 body suit from the Pac Sun in the Moorestown Mall. Went to wear it for the first time and when undoing the snap, it completely fell off. No rips in the fabric nothing. It was as if it was not fastened on properly when made. I attempted to return the body suit to the store with my receipt to either refund my money or give me another non defective body suit only to be told that “sorry you wore it on your body so there is nothing we can do”! He said you could have ripped it and that is why the snap fell off…..you can clearly see that the fabric is not ripped in any way! Seriously, so now I just wasted $25.00 for your defective merchandise. The guy behind the counter could care less that I only had the body suit in my hands for about 48 hours and wore it for 1 hour before it broke. Any other store would have said to go get another one or given me back my money. This will keep me from shopping at any Pac Sun from now on and I will make sure that I tell all my friends and their children not to shop at a store that does not stand behind its product. Very disappointed in this store and its merchandise to say the least!

I was just at PacSun store in the Grapevine Mills Mall in Grapevine, TX. My son purchased a shirt the manager Marco gave him the wrong receipt. He returned it 30 mins later only to get a in store gift card. I go back to the store talk to the manager Sam, she was extremely rude. I told her the story & said I didn’t want a store credit where is the manager she said he is gone for the night. I said call your district manager she did. This whole time Sam is still getting smart & being unprofessional. The district manager asked to speak with me, while I’m on the phone with her, Sam tells my son he should make sure thats what he wants next time. I told her that is unprofessional to say to a customer and if he wants to return it he can. Then she says I’m just trying to teach him how to budget his money. I told my son she is trying to say you can’t afford it. Then she tells her district manager what I said. Then said it’s only $27 & threatened to call security, I said call them. It was ok for her to be a smart a**, but when i responded thr rude XXXXXX wanted to call security and she us a manager. A f-ing joke thts wht she is. The whole time Sam was getting smart being disrespectful. And I told her I know they can check the register tape to see he paid with cash. She had to count the draw to see if it was over, which she barely did while she was on the phone with her district manager, she did not count the money she did not have a calculator kept looking under the draw where the $100 bills where. I worked retail and I know u need a calculator, told her manager it was a lot of money my point exactly, do she couldn’t have possible counted all the money & tells her manager its $1 short. She tells her manager all I want is the money, yes u right because I paid with cash. She was acting like we couldn’t afford it. She was just rude. I will be calling corporate on Monday. I will never step foot back in that store. She needs to be fired. She was rude when my sin went back to do the return so I don’t know what her problem was, I believe she is a racist….

This company has so many issues, I’m not even sure where to start.
First, they treat loyal employees like dogsh*t. They like to fire people based off of assumptions. They pay managers HIGHLY unfairly, regardless of the work ethic. They truly don’t care about their people, which shows and leads me to my second point.
I went into one of their locations and the “manager” was ON THEIR PHONE WITH HEADPHONES IN. I wasn’t there to buy anything because I couldn’t possibly support such a shi**y company, but in all my years of working I have never seen something so appalling. Then I watched a customer look like they needed some help, but was a manager around or aware? Nope.
This company deserves to go bankrupt. I’m going to cause an HR MESS with how unprofessional they are. They run bad business and I won’t rest until justice is served.

I couldn’t agree more with N/A. In the Lynnwood store a couple of weeks ago, a drug syringe needle was found in the stock room. The manager is paranoid and profusely sweats among other things. Its amazing that HR has done nothing and continues to put employees at risk. Shame on you PACSUN!!

I had a terrible experience with shopping with pac sun and will probably rethink twice about doing it again!! i was suppose to have been delivered a package on early december, but i gave them a day or two without a call simply because its holiday season and i didn’t want to put pressure on them to rush my package. Anywho i spoke to representative JIN i believe and he told me i would have my money refunded being that FEDEX lost my package. I was highly upset. He showed no care or anything that i preferred my package!! with limited edition items over my money back. Then i asked to speak to a manager and JIN comessss BACK on the phone with his name as RED. I told him this sounds like the exact same person, he gets nervous and puts me on hold to come back and tell me theres no managers available.. its been more than 4 days i just want my money back.. smh

I placed an order on Cyber Monday for a shirt for my son(50% off), received an email about the purchase and my paypal sent the email for authorization saying money wont leave my account until Pac Sun processes my order. Here we are 4 days later and PacSun has still not processed my order however they keep sending me emails daily wanting me to buy the shirt (that i bought on Monday lol) saying looks like you left something behind and wanting me to buy the shirt today for alot more than when I submitted my order. I called customer service and was rather confused. He said corporate office would call me, that I should cancel my order (dont know how since its not showing up on your end) and re-order and he would give me a 10% discount for my trouble lol! I got 50% off Monday when I hit the purchase button. I gave the transaction i.d and invoice i.d to your customer service. I am not about to place an order for a higher amount and have to spend 30min again on the phone with customer service to make an adjustment.

Two complaints. My 17 year old loves this store but they really need to step into the 21st century.
I ordered $204 worth of items online – we kept all but $74 worth which we went to the local mall store to return. The cashier took the items back and supposedly credited my debit card but 3 days later I still don’t see funds. That should not ever happen to a customer. You need more sophisticated systems and if anything that should be reconciled on the store side not holding the customer up.
#2 You should be promoting throughout all of your stores, as a courtesy a free wifi password. When I asked the cashiers, they said PacSun has one but that no one knows it and they can’t share it. How ridiculous. We can’t use it except for in the store. Be customer friendly in 2016 and offer it.
Customer service should be key. The cost for merchandise here is not cheap.

Last night I unfortunately had an unpleasant experience shopping at pacsun. I went to Roosevelt field mall in NY, just to go to pacsun bc it’s usually the only store I will actually buy clothes from. Normally when I enter the store I am greeted within 5 seconds of being there. Now I’ve worked in retail and management prior to this experience and it may actually be the why I was so upset when I left the store. Not once did any employee address me or anyone I was with in the store. I had to look through everything to find my sizes while the employees watched while folding other clothes. Another employee proceeded to explain sale promotions going on in the store when I asked if she would do the same she blatantly ignored me. Because I really like the products at pacsun I continued to shop and find the items I needed, eventually brought them to the register to pay. Not once did he greet me or say anything calls me over by waving his hands. At one point I even asked if he could check the price on something and instead of scanning it he gave me his rough estimation. My family and I left the store again there was no thank you for shopping her, or come again. I spend the money I do at pacsun bc the clothing is great but more so bc I have never once been treated this way. I doubt I will ever step foot in that store again. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!

Tell me why the Pac Sun in the edgewater mall Biloxi Mississippi is not open on a Saturday at 1100am the mall opens at 1000am. This is unprofessional to run a buissness that way. The management is obviously in unorganized and probably hungover because they went out last night. I have shopped there before and the employees carry on personal conversations while sitting on the back counter. This in not right and portrays a negative shopping experience.

I looked on line and found the nimber for customer support. Ifinally got through to customer service they did say they would look into it and see if they can to take care of the problem. I am very dissatisfied with the way I’ve been treated by the employees of PacSun.

It is not ok to do something like this just for free publicity. Pacsun management that did this, imo, are on the same level as disgusting internet trolls. imo They must be very very young and immature. Lacking knowledge of history. First amendment rights argument not an excuse. Your company slapped every past, and present member, of the military in the face this Memorial Day weekend! Was it worth the free publicity? Your team ca not come up with positive, creative, good publicity campaign??? Or what? Seriously sick team of management. Go ahead and piss off the shareholders. I do not think they want to make money by insulting our country, our fallen, our vets, disabled vets, those currently serving, especially on Memorial Day weekend! I served this country for 20 years. I understand the whole freedom of speech thing. I served to defend the Constitution of the United States, BUT this was unacceptable. I know a lot of other people that feel the same way, and will not shop at any of your stores again. You should show more respect for the country that you call your home.
Jillian says
I understand you removed that horrid t-shirt with American flag on it. I thank you for that but I’m confused with the statement your company gave in regards to this situation. If you honor and respect our armed forces like you claim, then why did you allow this shirt to be displayed in your store? You placed this shirt in the front of you store, and it was the focal point of your store on Memorial Day?! You mean to tell me no one in your company took a step back and voiced that maybe, just maybe this would not be appropriate. You lied. You are profiting from the painful issues this country is dealing with. If no one would have said anything, would you have still taken down? You want to show our country that you really mean what you quoted? Fire the person (s) responsible for displaying the shirt in the first place. In the meantime, I will still be working to boycott your company. My husband is a vet and deployed 4 times, loosing his brother almost loosing his life and this is the thanks he gets on the day he remembers his brother’s sacrifices. Your company is sick.

Spent literally 5 seconds in the store to get a sour taste in my mouth about the company. I live in Las Vegas and I happened to take an adventure to the outlets out in primm. Loved a pair of joggers, but they didn’t have a pair in my size in the store. Decided to try my luck at the Las Vegas premium outlets south. I saw the pants immediately, but saw they only has size large. I took the pair to the counter for help. Two pacsun workers were behind the counter chatting. They both stared at me until I greeted them. One girl had her mouth full of orange chicken and rice that she had sitting right on the counter. At my job on the Las Vegas strip… This is considered unprofessional. I asked if they had any sizes in the back. They both turned to the 3rd employee on the floor actually working and without checking they said “no”. Thanks guys.

Very upset with the way I was just treated at a location in Arlington, TX. Went to return a pair of shoes I had bought for my fiance with the tags and receipt. I am submitting this email as a complaint. I placed an order and arranged for it to be delivered to the Mayfair Mall store in Wauwatosa, WI. I called the store on 08/03/14 at 2:06pm and inquired about the package and was told by a male employee that there was no package. I looked at my email on 08/04/14 and saw that it was delivered to the store on 07/31/14 at 10:30am. I called the store back on 08/04 and inquired about the package again and was told that it was there. The employee stated that his name was James. I let him know that I was told that it was not there, nor was I contacted once it had arrived. James stated that I spoke with Dionte on 08/03 and he will speak with Dionte, but I had not told James if it was a male or female employee I spoke with. I therefore do not appreciate what seemed to be a ploy to put off the mistake on someone else.
This was an inconvenience as I was in the area of the store on 08/03 and now I have to find time to go back to the store. I am very disappointed in the lack of follow-up when my package had arrived to the store on 07/31 and what seemed to be a dishonest ploy to put off my concern onto another employee.

Do you have the number or email for corp since I need to report and issue with Cerritos Mall store in Cerritos, CA. Heard the manager has been replaced 3 times and now he refuses to give an employee hours. He has this employee call in every single day just to say there are no hours. Does that store make money or not since his excuse for not issuing hours was “its slow”. Also there is a female sales rep who is getting all the hours since he favors her over any other employee. It has also been reported that employees are not receiving their breaks or lunches. I would like to find out what is going on before this email is forwarded to the labor board which will be happy to issue a fine. They will also look into your employee records and issue fines which they feel are needed. Seems as if this store has a high turn over rate with employees. Imagine you having a job where you must call in daily to only find out there are no hours when you could have done something else, such as enjoy life instead of sitting at home til 1pm at which time you must call in for work. Please forward to the Corp or Headquarters so they can take proper actions towards this one manager and female sales rep who seems to be taking all the hours from others. Someone needs to see how many employees they have and see how many hours each and everyone is getting if any. Then decide if its fair for one employee to get more hours than another. I will be waiting for your respond.

I hereby register my 100% support of the Utah mom who purchased all of the “Heartbreaker” tshirts featuring scantily clad women in all kinds of poses from her local Pacsun store. So sad that during this difficult time to raise respectful teenagers – boys and girls – parents have to battle the negative imagery constantly peddled by the stores popular with teenagers. Absolutely anything for money is what Pac Sun is all about, apparently. If the Pac Sun company had any class it would remove all of the shirts from their stores, make a public apology for the poor judgement used and issue that Mom a full refund.

Dear Pac-Sun
So happy the media made us all aware of your offensive t-shirts of young women in lingerie. As the mother of four young men I am disgusted that your company finds this product to be appropriate for teenagers and young adults.
Shame on you for your lack of judgement on what is “cool” and what is totally offensive.
Won’t be patronizing your company

Please tell Gary Schoenfeld that I applaud the Utah mother who bought all of the offensive shirts on display in the front of the Pac Sun store window in Provo Utah. And please tell Gary that he will not be getting my business if he is proud to pedal soft XXXXX merchandise to teenagers. And don’t forget to tell Gary that he has shown his support for smut and indecency so we can all see what kind of person he is and where his priorities lie. And also tell Gary that money can’t buy decency or class as is evident in his case.

I had the most frustrating experience trying to make a return at your Kaahumanu store here on Maui.
Last night, I asked my 15 yr old daughter to return 2 tops that she got for Christmas (with a gift receipts) as well as the exact same two tops that I bought for her and another daughter (with gift receipts as well). Well she was told that she was 1 day late in returning her gifts…period. And as for the tops I bought, it was 2 weeks late of the 60 day window. As I examined the return policy, I did find the statement of the 60 day policy, but come on now…1 day? It was quite unnerving to hear this. With frustration, I decided to hunt down, and found, my receipt for the other two tops that I bought.
I went down this morning and explained my daughters experience last night and the cashier’s only response was, “yes, and now it’s 2 days late.” Wow, I was not ready for that kind of arrogance and realized it was the same cashier that helped my daughter. I explained that I understood that companies need to have policies in place for guidelines, but really, NO exceptions for being 1 day and now 2 days late. She also gave me a difficult time for the other two tops which I found my original receipt for. I and to point out her store policy which states “returns made 60 days or more after the date of purchase will be credited for the price paid either in the form of a merchandise credit or merchandise exchange.” We’ll, her arrogance again responded with I am the manager and I do only what my district manager tell me to do. My rebuttal to her was I really didn’t care what she told me her district manager told her to do, nor that fact that she was the manager. Whether she was a trainee, a part time employee or the manager, I would have expected her to do, as was promised in print on the back of my receipt. Finally her response (as she probably noticed that by this time two customers left her counter as she was the sole employee) was, “okay I will do for you this time.” I told her I didn’t appreciate that response, because I wasn’t asking of any favor I was just asking her to go by company policy and wanted to be treated in good faith! Well after she completed the transaction for my return, I noticed she didn’t give me the full credit as shown on my original receipt. Again..I pointed out the print that stated, ” will be credited for the price paid..”. By now, due to stupidity and arrogance, she had lost another customer as she had to redo this credit.
I am saddened over this experience, as well as for your company to have her represent herself as one of your managers….shame. With online shopping and other opportunities to get great deals, I don’t think it was worth for her to plays these “I am the manager”power trip. It took me about 30 min. to get done what could have been 5 min., as well as a loss of 3 sales.
I do hope to hear a response from you to gain good faith in your retail business.

I recently visited a PacSun located at Avenue at Webb Gin in Snellville, Ga to return a gift . I had the original receipt which reflected cash payment for purchase of the item. The store clerk asked me for a credit card. Upon inquiring why he needed a credit card, the store clerk responded by saying that it was store policy to credit a credit card even though cash had been used to make the initial purchase when the item was purchased as gift from someone other than the person making the return. After talking to several people about this transaction, it was suggested that this transaction was not proper and that I should make contact with the corporate office.
I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Serena

On 7/29/13 we attempted to find shoes for my grandson who loves Pac Sun stores, not having his size the associate assisted us in buying a gift card and ordering them on line telling us we would have them in 2-3 days via Fed Ex. On 8/5/13 when the shoes had not arrived he received an email stating they were shipped back because they were undeliverable. I called the store they directed me to the customer service number. I called them and was told that the associate did not understand the policy for shipping and the shoes were sent back but once Pac Sun received them in 5-10 days they would reissue them, and it may take up to 2 weeks. I ask for a supervisor and explained he was getting ready to fly out and had no shoes. A supervisor named Jackie stated she would reissue the shoes on 8/5/13 and have them over nighted for next day delivery by Fed Ex and I would have them by 8/7/13. On 8/7/13 again the shoes did not arrive. I once again frustrately called the 877-372-2786 # only to be told by Rashia that the shoes were just sent out today on 8/7/13 but that Fed Ex changed the overnight delivery so I would get them on 8/9/13. I have never dealt with a company that takes 11 days to deliver shoes after being paid in full, or associates, Supervisors that did not keep their word. I am very frustrated. My grandson will not have his shoes to wear home on the plane and I am going to cover the cost of shipping those shoes to him IF AND WHEN THEY EVER COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see my grandson once a year because his Dad is Active Duty in the Military and is stationed out of State. I help out by buying his school clothes.Chris loves Pac Sun shoes and clothes and every year we make our trip to the mall but this experience has been a nightmare.
