Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Corporate Office

Tom and Judy Love spent $5,000 to lease an abandoned gas station in Watonga, Oklahoma in 1964 under the name Musket Corporation. Over the next 8 years Musket opened a further 40 gas stations.

During the 1973 oil crisis Tom Love diversified the gas stations to include convenience stores. The move was a success and he quickly converted all of his locations to include Mini Stop stores.

The company changed its name to Love’s Country Stores in 1973.

In 1978 the company had 60 locations, and in 1981, 100 locations.

In 1993 Love’s teamed up with Taco Bell. The move was a success and in 1995 Love’s opened its first triple-branded location with Subway, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. In subsequent years Love’s teamed up with Arby’s, Godfather’s Pizza, Hardee’s, Carl’s Jr., Chester’s Chicken, and Baskin-Robbins.

Today Love’s has 300 travel stops and 160 truck tire care centers in 39 states. Each travel stop contains a convenience store, fast-food restaurant, and gas outlets. The travel stops also offer services for truckers such as shower rooms, laundry facilities, game rooms, and mail drops.

Love’s is owned and operated by CEO and founder Tom Love. The company has 8,000 employees and had $24.40 billion in revenue in 2011.

TransMontaigne Corporate Office

TransMontaigne, Inc. is an American oil pipeline company.

The principal predecessor to TransMontaigne was formed in 1977 in Arkansas and run by Cortland Dietler, the company’s first CEO. Dietler led management through a reverse merger in 1995. The company emerged with the new name, TransMontaigne Oil Company.

TransMontaigne bought out Sheffield Exploration Company in 1996, sold off its assets and held on to its midstream operations. The company went public the same year.

TransMontaigne acquired several other companies in the years that followed, giving it access to more barrel capacity as well as increased ownership of pipelines.

In 2006 the company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, and was subsequently delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.

Today TransMontaigne  gathers, transports, stores, and markets refined petroleum products, chemicals, and crude oil. It operates primarily in the Mississippi River Corridor.

TransMontaigne is #21 on the Forbes list of America’s Largest Private Companies, has 820 employees, and had $12 billion in revenue in 2011.

Tenaska Energy Corporate Office

Tenaska Energy is one of the largest private energy companies in the United States.

Tenaska was founded in 1987 by Howard Hawks and Tom Hendricks, both former InterNorth executives. The name comes from a combination of Nebraska, Texas, tenacity and ten.

The original goal of the company was to build two power plants. They built one in Paris, Texas and the other in Ferndale, Washington. Both were operating by 1994.

In 1999 Tenaska Operations was formed to directly operate Tenaska plants.

The company opened plants in Texas in 1996, 2000 and 2001, Pakistan in 2000, Minnesota in 2001, Georgia in 2001, Bolivia in 2002, Alabama in 2002 and 2003, Oklahoma in 2003, and Virginia in 2004. Tenaska now has 15 power plants.

Tenaska BioFuels was formed in 2006 and in 2008, Tenaska Solar Ventures.

Today Tenaska is a leader in marketing natural gas, electric power, biofuels, and related agricultural commodities and natural gas fuels. Tenaska has 722 employees and had $9.95 billion in revenue in 2012.

GDF Suez S.A. is a French multinational company with worldwide headquarters in Paris that operates in electric generation and distribution, natural gas, and renewable energy. GDF Suez is the product of the 2006 merger of Suez and Gaz de France.

Suez was founded in 1922 by King William of the Netherlands and is one of the oldest continually existing multinational corporations in the world. At the time of the merger, Suez had annual revenue of $41.5 billion.

Gaz de France was founded in 1946 by the French government. The government held an 80% stake in the company until the merger. Gaz de France had revenue of $22.4 billion in 2005.

In 2006 the merger of water supply and treatment, waste management, and energy company Suez with power company Gaz de France was announced, though it took until late in 2007 for the companies to agree on terms.

GDF Suez became the world’s second-largest utility company based on revenues. In 2009 GDF Suez placed sixth on the list of Businessweek ranking of the World’s Best Companies, the highest placed European firm. Today GDF Suez has 236,000 worldwide employees and had $90.7 billion in revenue in 2011.

Fluor Corporation Corporate Office

Fluor Corporation was founded by John Simon Fluor in 1890 in Wisconsin as the Fluor Brothers Construction Company. Fluor Brothers was awarded a contract to build a natural gasoline plant for Richfield Oil in 1922, thereby establishing itself in the oil and gas industry.

The U.S. Air Force contracted the company to build Saudi Arabia’s Dhahran Air Base in 1955.

Offshore operations began in 1967 and the company built its first hydrocracker plant for the American Oil Company in Texas City.
