I was just at the new Norms at Hollywood and Western. Sat at the counter made sure manager saw me. 10 minutes later no one acknowledged me or asked me to order. Zero. I walked out. Nobody seemed to even care. It was half empty restaurant too. Fail!

The female manager at the Inglewood location I believe her name is Sharon , starts with an “S” for sure; she was being extremely aggressive and made me uncomfortable. Not only to us as customers but to her own staff as well. I hadnt seen her in a while and things were running smoothly and she suddenly reappeared and seems like she is even worst then before. The way she talks at you and storms around really brings about an unease in the establishment. Ive Never had an issue like this with any other host , waitress or even the other managers. I will report this to the better business bureau if it continues.

I put a review on Yelp about the poor service and the poor quality of food that the Norms on Imperial had. I received a reply from “Norm R” which I know wasn’t him. Anyway they asked me to reply with my contact info but never told me where to send my contact info. I was not about to put it on Yelp. I am never going back to that Norms. They don’t even have weekly specials like all the other Norms I have patronized for the last 30 years.

Person named Cindy claimed she was the Manager at the Pico Rivera location. She should not be holding that position as she is unable to control her tantrums during a customer dispute. The dispute was that they did not honor the earned $5 reward from my phone app even after showing it to the cash register when closing out the bill. When I brought it to her attention she said “too late we cannot pull it back up in the system” when I told her that was unacceptable she began to Stomp her feet, throw her hands in the air and SLAMMED money on the counter when I asked her for change to tip my server. I’m sure the security cameras recorded her tantrum. I will be escalating this to Corporate. By the way there was another customer discussing the same dispute $5 rewards not being honored with another employee right next to me!

I began writing this at 6:27am and I walked in at 5:59 along with a service staff member who was starting her shift. I was greeted by another server and told to seat myself. My presence was recognized by both servers and despite that, they chatted for 22 minutes before I got up to remind them that I was here. No apology or acknowledgement of their slacking or my waiting. It’s now 6:37 and I’m still waiting for water and an omelet. ?

Monday, 3/15/2021 I went to the 1st opening inside the restaurant.
The menu is way to expensive.
The waitress never came back during.y stay.
Over 30 minutes to be seated.
Over 30 minutes to get my food.
The soup was Cold.
The steak was overcooked and I had to have it re-done when I clearly stated from the beginning, do not over cook the steak.
I want my money back !!!

Its Monday, December 2, at 8:30pm in the night and the Norms located in Huntington Park on Slauson is having a “Christmas” party in the parking lot that is playing loud music and it looks like people are drinking. The music is loud and the restuarant is on Malabar St., a residential street, and the restuarant has been playing loud, obnoxious, music for the last 3 hours. I dont get why they are making the entire street suffere through this stupid music, put the dj inside your restuarant and see how much customers like it. I called the police to report the disturbing of the peace, Im also leaving negative online reviews. I cant beleve corporate would approve a ghetto, parking lot, street party. What is wrong with your branch in Huntington Park?

Called Corporate to see why the Norms app is not working so that I may earn or redeem rewards points – NO ANSWER – tried 6 times to talk to someone and the only answer I got was a voicemail recording from Human Resources. Not good, most places at least answer to their clients. Maybe when Norms runs out of clients they will start answering the calls.

After reading the mostly bad comments regarding fraudulent activities from Norm’s, I would like to add my comment regarding the West Covina Norm’s, which would not honor the free 1 lb of Ribs promotion with purchase of an entree. I ordered the rib plate and asked the waitress to have the free 1 lb. order of ribs to go since I was going to save it for dinner. After finishing my meal, I went to the register and they would not honor their own promotion. The manager said I had to eat it there??? This is false advertising and it appears to be another gimmick Norm’s is using to rip off the consumer. I will also add my name to the list of those that will never set foot in another Norm’s again. Crooked companies eventually get their comuppance so people need to be careful when eating at Norm’s since it is a predator and scammer and always looking for ways to cheat the public. Find another place to eat.

They have an app that says you have a choice of 3 different items free for signing up. I ordered food, ate it, then went to the register to order from the app as my waiter had gotten off already. They refused to honor the app promotion. This was the Costa Mesa location.

Since when do you charge a 3% surcharge fee? On your bill it says for doing business in California a surcharge will be 3% added. Not one sign is posted in front nor are your asked prior to ordering if you accept this. This is not only unprofessional but fraudulent I have sent my receipt to the attorney general of California to investigate the matter!! Not only have I been a loyal customer but to be taken advantage of with this shows me that I will never go back !!!

FOR A COMPANY THAT SPENDS MILLIONS IN TV ADDS WHY HAVE YOU ADDED A 3% SURCHARGE IN SMALL FINE PRINT ON YOUR MENUS ? IF YOU ARE PROUD OF THIS WHY DON`T YOU PUT UP A LARGE SIGN AS YOUR CUSTOMERS ENTER, INSTEAD OF ADDING THIS TO THE BILL AS WE LEAVE? I AM 74 YEARS OLD & HAVE BEEN GOING TO NORMS SENSE I WAS 11. IF YOU NEED MORE MONEY WHY NOT INCREASE YOUR PRICES? THIS SEEMS THE HONEST APPROACH & NOT UNDERHANDED!!

You are so right!!! My dining experience was RUINED.
I was UNPLEASANTLY surprised when I got my bill noticing the 3% Surcharge.
On the lower portion of my bill it stated;
” Please Pay Cashier Thank You – A 3% surcharge has been added to offset the increased costs of doing business in California. THIS IS NOT A GRATUITY.”
This is so under handed and sneaky.
I asked the lead cashier about this added fee and she stated that it help with taxes. Taxes????
This fee needs to be posted at the door, along with “Todays Specials”.
Also, It should be in Xtra Large Font just like everything else that is posted.
Please, notify your customers up front and be honest with customers, remember they are the reason you are in business (remember your stockholders).
Who will hurt the most are the customers that are on Social Sec and families, due to they are on limited income/budget and they are your largest common denominator also don’t forget “word of mouth has power.” There goes your LOYAL customers!!!
Norms’, you target to customers that are looking for “value for there money”… well you will quickly find out that you will lose most and/or large majority of customers therefore bottom ($$$) line will reflect this action.
Your stock holders will notice this decline($$$) as well on the profit reports and someone will answer to this ingenious idea (idea from a new MBA grad, I presume).
so, its your call Norms ….

Please forward this message to whoever is in charge of scouting for new locations for your restaurant chain. I live in Moreno Valley and I have there for approx 10 years. The first thing I noticed when I moved there was that they didn’t have much of a choice in sit down restaurants. Sure they have the standard Denny’s, IHOP , Sizzler, Outback, Olive Garden but they don’t have good fashion dinner where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, they don’t have a Norms. The closest one in Riverside on Tyler but I think your company is missing out on a great business opportunity. I say this because there seems to be something of a business building boom going near the corners Day and Eucalyptus streets. They are building something called the Quarter and I’m told they will have 3 different hotels at that location as well as a 76 gas station along with several smaller shops. As I drive past this area I noticed a nice area next to the Moreno Valley fire station and adjacent to the newly built hotels that would be a perfect location for a Norms restaurant. The reason I believe this to be an ideal location is because it will be approx 5 new hotels within its near proximity and there are several large residential complexes across the street from it. Day Street is the borderline street between the City of Riverside and the City of Moreno Valley. The Riverside area has a lot of country facilities that are also very near. I just learned that Golden Corral is planning on building a restaurant not too far from this location so all in all I can’t find any reason someone from your organization doesn’t go and do some serious location scouting because all the good places are gone…..Just thought I’d reach out and help!

Manager Ramon needs some immediate customer service training. I get overcharged by the cashier whom I clearly stated what I wanted and pointed to on the menu. Despite her saying that they only sold 2 pancakes with eggs, yet in the menu it’s 3 pancakes with eggs as 6.99. I ask the manager to refund me the difference. He immediately claims that his cashier charged me the right way. In what way is charging me a stack of pancakes and a side of eggs the same. It ends up being more money. He must like to pay more money! Yet if I was short, he wouldn’t allow me to take my food. All in all Ramon needs to better train his employees and provide customers with curtous manners.

I am a regular, every Sunday morning me and my wife have been going for breakfast for over a year now, good service, good quality and wonderful environment! I decided to “treat” myself today for a late breakfast,(1pm) Prompt service, seated right away by Benjamin also my server. Scrambled eggs, extra crisp bacon, fruit and toast. 2 minutes later, brought to me.
I was amazed they could cook eggs that fast! Eggs were dry, very small portion, bacon limp.
Plate sitting under a heat lamp? Very disappointed, could not eat eggs or bacon, decided to just leave it and pay and exit. I will not be informing my wife so as to continue our ritual on Sundays. Thank You

Dear Guys,
Us West L.A. customers were heartbroken when first Santa Monica and then the Pico Norms both closed. Are there any plans to reopen a new Norms anywhere in West L.A.? We were loyal customers and faithful to Norms all through the years. Please consider opening one in our area.

Hi, my name is Denise. I have been a faithful customer of norms since I moved to California in 1997. I’ve been to the norms in Lakewood, downey, Euclid, and now I have been attending the one on Tyler street in riverside since we moved to this area a year ago. We had done a take out order once before and it was not good at all when we got it home. Because it is an inconvenience to go I to riverside from Corona just to return the meal, we ate it and I did not register a complaint. However, this time is enough! We ordered the jalapeno burgers, both of them with 2 gumbo soups, and since they did not have any sweet potato fries, we asked for steamed vegetables. The gumbo soup had not one single piece of chicken or sausage in it, the vegetables were hard rather than soft, the bacon of severely undercooked, which is not good for either of us as we do suffer from our health, and the hamburgers only had one tiny sad piece of onion in it! I tried calling the restaurant, I asked for the manager and was put on hold twice, my call was never answered, I just heard the hold music both times I was on hold. I’m extremely upset and disappointed with the food and service! I’m asking that this be resolved so I can once again resume my time at norms again. I did take a picture of the bacon and onion and the receipt for you to view. I would appreciate a call back or an email response back and will be happy to send you the pictures via email as well. Thank you for your Help, sincerely, Denise Segundo. Email me personally to send you my cell #.

Hello
I went to the Norms on Sherman Way/Woodman in the city of Van Nuys. Ive called in 3 orders to go on 3 separate occassions. Each time my steak and vegetables were under cooked. 2 out of 3 times ive accepted a replacement dinner. This last visit 8/8/17 was the most horrible experience of my life in any restaurant. The STEAK had the most FOUL taste. It actually SPREAD to the vegetables n the baked potato by the time i got home. I had put hot sauce as well as steak sauce and the taste still penetrated. It was gross. I called once again and once again they offered me the same thing but this was my last visit to norms. Ive grown up with norms n its sad that BAD MANAGEMENT continues to let this happen over and over. Also when i called in the order (30 minutes ahead) it wasnt ready and the cashier/host had an attitude like my order didnt matter. In fact when i called in the order she wasnt even familiar with the menu. Ive been ordering the same thing for years. The steak special with the soup salad. The chefs were unshaven n the uniforms were dirty. CORPORATE REALLY NEEDS TO DO A SURPRISE VISIT AND OR CALL IN AN ORDER. The chefs were laughing because they could see the displeasure in my face as i waited for my order to be ready which took another 20 minutes after arrival and the restaurant wasnt even busy.

I called customer service and was hung up on ! The manager of the store offered me a coupon over a month ago and I have received nothing ! It’s ridicouls I’m still dealing with terrible service even after my diminish experience ! I recently ate at your location in Santa Ana . I was excited since it was my first time and looked forward to it . Unfortunately the waitress was terrible and ruined my entire night ! She never came back once after giving us our food . I sat the entire time with a empty cup trying to flagg her down and she blatantly ignored me . I even tried to wave down another waitress and she ignored me . She finally came to the table and tried to rush us out when I obviously had the intention for desert I even asked her about it when ordering . I was so pissed I just took my ticket and left . Not to mention I had to wait another 15 minutes for someone To come to the register . I emailed a complaint to the store and was emailed by the manager who told me to call her which was already strange but I called her to no avail . I even emailed her back and nothing . I am beyond disappointed and can’t help feel cheated !!! This is beyond ridiculous . I would love for you to watch footage it’s appalling one would almost feel like it had something to do with the shade of my skin …. as the other lighter customers received impeccable service .

7/20/17 My husband and I went to Norms in Van Nuys, First of all the place was dirty, I have visited this particular restaurant before, it’s always packed and always open . So I get that it is hard to deep clean a restaurant with customers in there 24/7. So as we are having our dinner the manager came to our table and said “Why are you spitting “loogies” on the floor?” I was like What? What are you talking about? the Manager then said The customer two table behind us said he saw one of us spit on the floor. I said that was a lie, he is crazy that never happened. Mind you my husband had sneezed about ten minutes before and covered his face in a down ward way, infact the lady across from us said “Bless you”. The manager proceeded to ask us if we were sure we didn’t spit “loogies” on the floor. I said just cause that old man said it doesn’t mean it happened, now let us eat. and maybe he should clean up the butter on the floor near our table. needless to say, I lost my appetite and asked for a container to go. The old man then glared at us as he walked by. The manager was very unprofessional and should have asked us kindly what we think may have happened. The immediate accusation was uncalled for. Was the old guy looking for a free meal? Your manager needs training, your restaurant needs a deep cleaning. perhaps a call to the Health Department would get you some attention.

I called the corporate office and asked if I could leave a complaint about the Norms in Torrance and she said “I will transfer you to Chips phone because he is not in yet.” someone answered and I asked if they were the one I should be speaking with and he said no. I must speak with a manager David but I would have to call back in another 4 to 5 hours when he gets to work. my call was placed at 8;06 am 7-17-17. but this is why I called in the first place . This morning I visited the Norms on PCH in Torrance and there was one customer inside. 4;50am. I looked for a table to sit at but every one was dirty. this happen about two months back and I took it upon myself to clean it but this morning I was not in the housekeeping mood. I then walked over to the counter where the entire counter area was filthy. at that point I grab your “join the team” card looking for a managers name. {there was none} I then walked back around the table area and looked closer at the floor. this had not been swept in hours .

I was with my family dining in the La Cienga Bl. Restaurant location around 8:30 pm and after I believe was the time. The waiter made a few simple mistakes with the order, left the table at one point when I,told him, “My mom is not settled with the matter. The promise of corn with the meal as a side the pair item choice on,the menu affected her decision to place the order. The manager came over and told me, I,had been 86 from The restaurant. Every time you come here you cause problems. I could not have an,uninterrupted speaking opportunity. I would have appreciated if I could have veenballiwed to be heard but she had a position already taken in her arrival immediately after she had been greeted. As I am writing it comes to me clearer we were mistreated 3 prior occasions and the 2nd of which she may have been but I am going to subject myself to a polygraph test and go very public with those experiences.
3 incidents back spaced in time, we arrived just in time for a meal to get an early discount. As we were seated my party wanted to secure if we would, the server or waiter said yes I see to it we honor that. It would be ok. Another waitress or manager nullified the promise and the young female waitress disavowed knowledge or denied saying that. I had never prior in life experiences a waitress lie. I remember that they argued, I allowed them to know I had audio recorded that on my cell phone and possibly another devise as it was in progress. This was egregious and as reprehensible as I known such lack,of integrity. I became the subject. I contacted the corporate office and the person who I reached the next day went straight into inflammatory assault that she knew what happened and I promised myself and perhaps her I would write a letter.
There was another time after that which is prior to yesterday but I will ask my partner more about what that was about. Again it was daylight hrs and was very egregious. The staffing wants this to reflect on me. This very racially motivated. Rudeness unwarranted where as a person dines to have a pleasant experience and not to be berreted in the presence of a couch of white onlookers. That is a peoples job of customer service in a hospitality industry. Keep the possession of evidence of the surveillance for the times I was there. People get fired behind this kind of thing. A Denny’s defining while Black, type of experience.
They are suppose to be able to diffuse not act escalatory. They interact with elderly, transient, and all kind of populations. I will write more details at a soon about specific statements exchanged. As a Black, male I realise the stigmatization of supposed dangerous in public places and how one can be susceptible to ex0loitation and emasculation. Ejaculation in the dlsense that it was my mom that had the issue with the food this and all times before. I was ever so careful in my demeanor and persuasion but why was I the target and subject centerpiece? KEEP THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO RECORDING YOU HAVE PISSESSION OF EVIDENCE. my experience has been as far back as Mike that was a store manager for years with norms. He had the Van Nuys store and Downey store as a doorman.. that’s done work for Norms their food is not just awesome and great but everyone works hard and Norms is like a family to all of their employees if you work hard and you stay with the company and you care about the customers as much as you can. That’s why Norms food is outstanding and that’s why I’m proud to do their door repair for them their particular NORMS Restaurants where the food is even further the outstanding even though it’s all the same food but they’re so busy because their food so great so sometimes you can’t please everyone but you do your best to help everyone and make everyone happy I just wanted someone to know how much I appreciate NORMS Restaurants

I had the worst experience I have ever had at the restaurant. My husband pick Norms to have breakfast for his birthday. We understand that on sunday January 8, 2017 the restaurant would be busy and we didn’t mind waiting to be seated. We ask the waiter to bring our son apple juice and he said he would check if they had any. 15 minutes later the waiter didn’t come back. In the 15 minutes they had seated 3 other tablea around us so we ask the waiter about the juice and he said they didn’t have any. We continue to waiy for our food and the tables that where seated after us already had their food. We waited 30 minutes or more to ve served our food and when we received it, the food look horrible and like someone from across the hall throw the food on the plates. On top of that our food was served on dirty plates. I called the manager Ramon Gonzalez and he had an attitude when he arrived to our table. I explain the problem and his response to us was ” what do you want me to do” not sorry about the dirty dishes, the wait, or sorry for how the food look. He did nothing to correct the situation and i ask for their corporate number and Ramon stated ” why do you want it for, they will contact my district manager and she will make me call you back”. I ask for the number again. He provided me the number and his district managers extension. Which i have contacted already and still haven’t received a call back. I really hope someone in corporate will contact me back in regards to this incident. I will also be contacting the health department. I really hope someone addressesthis concern. We visited the Norms restaurant in Huntington Park California on .

We are VERY upset that the Westwood Norms is CLOSING for good! Why don’t you open a few NEW locations on the Westside to replace Westwood and Santa Monica?

I read that you’re looking for possible locations in West L.A. to replace the recently closed Westwood store on Pico Blvd., a store I used to frequent very often.
May I suggest you take a look at the former OfficeMax/Office Depot spot at 8985 Venice Blvd. at the L.A./Culver City border. It’s diagonally across the street from the Culver City Expo station, and though lots of development is planned in the area, this spot is already an established shopping center. A Sprouts market opened in the space next door earlier a few months ago, and there is also a Starbucks, Noah’s Bagels, Chase Bank, Rite Aid, and a few other stores in the same shopping center. Lots of parking, major visibility, freeway adjacent, and good area demographics.

I would like to know why there is only one waitress in the early morning in the Riverside location. It was 6:15am the table were not clean up no at the front desk and there was a lot of people waiting to eat and sit. These is the 3 rd time this has happened in 5 weeks me and my father walk out I like your food but will not be going till this being taken care of I challenge you to contact them at that hour between 6 am 7 am and ask them how many people are working right now during week days

Why isn’t Norms honoring Veterans Nov 11? While Dennys, IHOP, Rubys, Mimis, Shoney, just to name a few, are all honoring men and women who served this country, I’d like an answer.
