Credo Mobile Corporate Office

Credo Mobile was founded back in 1985. Originally named Working Assets, the company was founded as a business that would channel profits to fund progressive social change.

The idea was simple; each time a customer used its service to do things they would normally do each day (use long distance, check a phone number, or use a credit card) the company would send a donation to non-profit groups such as Planned Parenthood or Rainforest Action Network.

The company changed its name in 2007 to Credo Mobile. The credit card is still in use under the name Working Assets.

In 2012, the company launched the “CREDO SuperPAC. ” Unlike other super PACs, the point was not to support candidates but to oppose certain candidates.

Also unlike other corporate super PACs, CREDO SuperPAC focused more on grassroots, volunteer-driven activism than on buying television advertisements. Its stated aim was to defeat candidates affiliated with the Tea Party Movement.

In November 2016, the company announced that it was involved in a long-standing legal battle regarding NSLs.

In April 2022, Credo Mobile announced that it would set up mobile units to treat opioid addictions, overdoses, and withdrawals in rural areas.

Red Pocket gets its name from a Japanese custom of wrapping gifts in red “pockets” or envelopes.

The company offers much less expensive rates for those with specific cell phone plans, such as via T-Mobile and Verizon.

Red Pocket announced that it would offer free, unlimited cell phone plans during the pandemic of 2021/2022.

In February 2022, Red Pocket announced a partnership with VoIP company Vonage.

Christian fundamentalists Chris Wilson and Glenn Story founded Patriot Mobile in 2015. The company operates a mobile virtual network for cell phones and data services.

Heavily marketed towards conservative Christians and Trump supporters, slogans such as “The same great nationwide coverage without funding Big Mobile and the causes of the Left”, and “America’s only Christian conservative wireless service provider”, have a hollow ring to them when consumers consider that the company is using Big Mobile provider T-Mobile.

The company has many negative reviews but the Better Business Bureau has given the company an A- rating as of this writing.

Patriot Mobile is a strong supporter of gun rights, and even attended the NRA convention after the Uvalde, Texas, mass shooting that killed 19 students and 2 teachers.

While the company complains about “Left Wing” companies becoming involved in politics, the company’s position on conservative issues is clear, leaving fliers on homeowners’ doorsteps warning about “wokeness” in public schools.

In September 2022, the company opened a new service center in Katy, Texas, adding an additional 40 jobs to the area.

In October 2020, the company rebranded itself as simply Pure Talk, removing the USA portion of their name.

The company prides itself on being able to offer USA-based customer service and a risk-free guarantee. New customers have until either their next month’s bill or 500 minutes or 500MB of data usage, whichever comes first, to request a refund if they are unhappy with their service.

Devices and cell phones purchased must be returned for a refund within 14 days.

Pure Talk offers 6 levels of service, ranging between $20 and $55 per month. All plans include unlimited talk, text, and data, wifi calling, mobile hotspot service, and the ability to add international calling plans.

In early September 2021, Pure Talk offered the iPhone 13 for pre-order starting September 17th, 2021.
