To Whom It May Concern:
I am an contracted employee, working through Adecco Staffing, at the Nypro in Mebane NC. I came in working as a basic Inspector Packer, and was quickly promoted to a Quality Analyst.
I have a complaint that I want to be addressed by the corporate level. I am currently working on site, 6/8/16, collecting samples from each machine. I was standing next to machine 418/420, going unnoticed, when 2 mechanics walked up and made the comment, “Adecco sure does like to hire all the minority’s are here, don’t they,” in a joking tone. The mechanic that was with him replied, “HA yes Adecco does.” I do not appreciate or tolerate racism in my own home, much less expect to deal with it at my work place. i enjoy working at Nypro, and plan to continue growing within the company. However, I refuse to be subjected to such crude behavior, and I would like this to be addressed formally.
After this comment(s) were made, I was hurt, and decided to keep my head down. I did not look up at them, to identify the mechanics. They did not know that I was close enough to hear them say these things, but it did not keep me from addressing this with my management team, through Adecco. Adecco seemed to take my concerns to heart, but I wanted to escalate this to your corporate level. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and I will not tolerate it.
I hope that you feel as strongly as I do, about racism and discrimination in the work place. I look forward to hearing from you, regarding my complaint. I would like to know that this is going to be addressed, and that my employer takes these things seriously.
Thank you for your consideration.
