Warren S. Johnson founded the Johnson Electric Company in 1885 to manufacture, install, and service temperature regulation systems. Warren S. Johnson was a professor at the State Normal School in Wisconsin who had invented and patented the first electric thermostat in 1883.
Between 1885 and 1911 while Johnson was in control of the company, he delved into many different areas, including steam and gas powered automobiles and wireless telegraph communication. After his death in 1911, the company decided to focus solely on temperature controls for nonresidential buildings.
The company was renamed Johnson Controls in 1974.
Johnson Controls has continued to invent and innovate throughout their history. In the 1950s they introduced the Pneumatic Control Center, which allowed for monitoring and operating of all the temperature and control devices in a building.
In 1972 they introduced a microcomputer dedicated to building control. In 1980 they added digital control technology to this microcomputer.
In 1989 they entered the facilities management business. In 1990 their sales exceeded $1 billion for the first time.
During the 2000s they have continued to expand globally through acquisitions.
Today Johnson Controls offers products and services to optimize energy and operational efficiency of buildings, automotive batteries, electronics, and interior systems for automobiles. They have 170,000 employees in more than 1,300 locations across six continents. Their revenue for 2012 was $41.955 billion.

Johnson Controls has failed to honor a Warranty for:
Guardian Heater, Model# RGF1L080CP16MP11, Serial#W1A8453875 purchased and installed on 7/11/19. The first time we used it on 2/15/19, it only blew cold air. Required a motherboard replacement on 2/26/19, at a $762 cost. Apparently, this is a low end inexpensive system, used when contactors intend to get more money out of a job. Johnson Controls staff are rude and seem to have no desire to assist you. Terrible company.

Dear Sirs:
I have been contacting your human resources dept and payroll dept by phone at (414) 524-1200 for over a month at least 2-3 times per week.I have been a victim of identity theft and someone used my name, address, and social security number to receive a w-2 from your company (mailed to my address) in roughly the amount of $5000; which has already been added to my IRS account and Social Security funds. All that I was asking was to have a letter confirming that I had never worked for your company to eliminate these funds (and W-2) from my social security and IRS account to be sent to my e-mail address listed above, and a hard copy mailed to my home address. A gentleman using the name of Daniel Garcia told me that he was the HR/Payroll supervisor and would have the letter e-mailed to me within 2 hours. That was February 9th at 11:30 a.m. EST. He told me that it had been confirmed that I had never been an employee with your company……. I have done MUCH of the research on this situation, but your company still has not sent me the letter that I need to start clearing this up. I have sent a copy of the W-2 to your payroll/HR dept, but they are still dragging their feet. Is anyone at your corporate office able to light a fire under these people to expedite this matter ?? I currently am only receiving $774 a month for social security, and due to this addition to my IRS account, my food stamps have been cut down to about 1/3 of the original amount. I will not file my taxes until this is eliminated from my accounts as I do not want to pay taxes on this and possibly have to pay back the food stamp money. PLEASE HELP AND RESPOND ASAP….
