Dresser-Rand Company Corporate Office

Dresser-Rand Company was formed in 1986 as a joint-venture between Dresser Industries and Ingersoll Rand.

When Dresser Industries merged with Halliburton in 1999 its stake in the joint venture was sold to Ingersoll Rand, who then sold it to private equity firm First Reserve Corporation for $1.2 billion. First Reserve took the company public the next year.

Today Dresser-Rand Company is a leading manufacturer of industrial rotating equipment including gas and steam turbines, hot gas expanders, control systems, and centrifugal and reciprocating compressors for use in the power, oil and gas, petrochemical, and chemical markets.

The company manufactures and distributes its products through 14 manufacturing sites and 50 service facilities in 30 countries.

Regal Cinemas began in 1989 in Knoxville, Tennessee with Mike Campbell as CEO. The company grew quickly, opening more upscale cinemas in suburban areas.

Throughout the 1990s the company acquired several smaller theaters, including Act III Theaters, Cobb Theaters, RC Theaters, and National Theater Corp.

W.R. Grace & Co. was founded in 1854 by William Russell Grace who had left Ireland due to the potato famine and moved to Peru. Grace started the company to buy harvested guano (bird droppings) in Peru which it then sold in North America and Europe.

Guano has high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus and was used for gunpowder and fertilizer.

Today the company operates through three major segments. Grace Catalyst Technologies produces catalysts used in chemical manufacturing processes.
