Vail Resorts Corporate Office

Vail Resorts was founded in 1962 when friends Pete Seibert and Earl Eaton began scouring Colorado for the perfect place to do downhill skiing. Seibert had been a lifelong Colorado resident and had been a former ski trooper.

While working as ski guides in Aspen, Colorado, the pair found what they believed would be the next skiing venue. Seibert secured financing and Eaton built the first lifts. Vail Resorts opened during the winter of 1962.

Today, the company operates 41 ski resorts in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Switzerland under various names including Alpine Valley in Ohio, Heavenly Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe, California, and Hidden Valley Resort in Pennsylvania.

In 2001, Vail Resorts acquired the luxury hotel chain RockResorts, which contributed substantially to its brand recognition. RockResorts was named after its original owners, the Rockefeller family.

Vail Resorts had attempted to acquire some dilapidated housing units and create affordable housing for its workers but the town of Vail, Colorado, sought a court’s help in giving the housing back to the city in July 2023.

In June 2023, a court decided that those holding season passes to Vail Resorts were not entitled to refunds due to the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020.

RunKeeper was launched in 2008 and was one of the first 200 apps offered on the Apple App Store.

RunKeeper is a GPS fitness app that allows runners to track their time, distance, speed, and other running information as well as chat with other runners.

In 2016, RunKeeper was acquired by running shoe manufacturer Asics for $85 million.

RunKeeper is always listed in review sites as one of the best running apps on the market.

The app is free but a premium version is offered that allows users to create race training plans and more.

Nathalie Wu had lived in Florida for more than 14 years while her husband Thomas has worked as a top chef at many restaurants. When Thomas passed away, Nathalie not only wanted to stay in Florida, she wanted to own her own restaurant.

After taking a two-year college course in business management, Wu purchased a defunct restaurant and named it Wicked Bao.

Bao is the Chinese word for a bun and it is common street food in many Asian countries. Wu wanted to bring the flavors of her native Taiwan to America.

Although the restaurant has only been in business for 5 years, it has topped Yelp and other review sites’T lists of “favorite restaurants in Florida “every year since its opening.

The basic menu doesn’t change but the chef’s specials change seasonally.

Zwift was founded in 2014 when co-founder and lifelong cyclist Eric Min became frustrated when he was forced to do his cycling indoors. Min saw an online post by programmer Jon Mayfield describing a “3D trainer program” he was developing as a hobby project. Min promptly contacted Mayfield, making arrangements to fly to Los Angeles to speak to him; the two agreed to co-found a company around the project.

Zwift is a massive online player/program/online racing program that enables users to interact with one another, train, race, and workout in a virtual world.

Zwift was originally only available to those with home computers but the company has since added apps for both IOS and Android that allow users to have access via mobile phones and tablets.

Zwift currently has 12 “worlds” or maps. These maps are rotated but one is always available: Watopia, a fictitious island, which has seen some of its expansions lean into fantasy, including dinosaurs and riding into an active volcano.

Zwift states that it currently has more than 334,000 paid users.

Zwift will be featured in the inaugural Olympic Esports finals in Singapore in June 2023.

CareOne Management Corporate Office

CareOne Management was founded in 1999 in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Daniel Strauss is the founder, chairman, and CEO of the company.

CareOne provides post-acute nursing and assisted living facilities. Currently, the company has 55 locations, mainly in New Jersey and Massachusetts.

In New Jersey, CareOne has 35 facilities, making it the largest assisted living business in the state.

CareOne states that it admits and discharges approximately 20,000 patients each year.

The company has also been nationally recognized for several successful fundraising efforts, including the Queen of Heart Ball for breast cancer research and the Valerie Fund, which benefits families of children with blood cancer. To date, CareOne LLC has raised over $5 million in philanthropic efforts.
