Noyo was born out of founders Dennis Lee and Shannon Goggin’s frustrations with the technology solutions available to them at Zenefits, also an API platform that failed to address certain needs.

Zoominfo is a subscription software as a service (SaaS) that sells access to its database of information about business people and companies to sales, marketing, and recruiting professionals.

Originally founded by Yonatan Stern under the name Eliyon Technologies, the company was acquired by DiscoverOrg in 2019 for $500 million.

Zoominfo is a sales and marketing intelligence company. In the original business model, it sold access to its database of information about business people; its initial customers were human resources professionals, and people interested in targeting ads to business people. In 2005, the company stated that it had information on about 25 million people and 1.5 million companies; by 2007 it said it had information on about 40 million people.

In March 2020, the company was rated “Best in Class” by users in the G2 2020 Spring Grid Report. This is the 9th consecutive year that Zoominfo has been rated at the top in nearly all categories.

Also in early March 2020, the company filed with the NASDAQ for an IPO listing. It is unknown at this time if the coronavirus crisis would delay this filing.

The company launched a mobile app for B2B data in January 2020.
