Lucid Motors Corporate Office

Bernard Tse, Sheaupyng Lin, & Sam Weng originally founded their electric car company as “Atieva” in 2007. After years of more intense research and design, the company decided to rebrand itself in 2016 as Lucid.

Some of the 500 employees had worked for other EV (electric vehicle) companies including Tesla and Mazda.

Peter Rawlinson, former engineer for Tesla, joined the company in 2016.

In late 2016, the company announced its plans to build a $700 million manufacturing plant in Casa Grande, Arizona. The company’s plan was to hire 2,000 persons and begin by manufacturing 20,000 cars a year, and to gradually increase production until 2020 when they hoped to build 130,000 cars each year. The factory currently has a maximum yearly capacity of 380,000 vehicles per year.

The Lucid Air, a fully electric car model, was unveiled in December 2016. The vehicle has two electric motors, the front motor having 400 horsepower and the rear motor 600 horsepower.

Lucid has an agreement with MobileEye to use their EyeQ4 chips. Each Lucid vehicle has 8 cameras and is autonomous ready, should this type of driverless mobility be approved for general use.

Lucid’s lithium-ion batteries are produced by Samsung and LG Chem.

The company has partnered with ElectrifyAmerica to use its nationwide charging network.

Lucid plans to open 8 showrooms, 5 in California, by the end of 2020.

The company maintains a corporate office in Newark, California.

Nectar Sleep Mattress Corporate Office

Craig Schmeizer, Eric Hutchinson, and Ran Reske believed that the market was ready for a new type of mattress, and founded Nectar in 2017 with no venture capital.

In the first year, the company sold more than 50,000 mattresses, generating $35 million in revenue.

Schmeizer believes that most people only buy a mattress once their old one completely breaks down or it causes them pain because they believe mattresses are very expensive.

Using layers of memory foam, Nectar mattresses provide the support people need but at a very reasonable cost.

The company also sells pillows, bed frames, mattress protectors, and weighted blankets.

Nectar Sleep offers the longest trial period of any mattress-in-a-box currently sold- 365 days from the date of sale.

The company also offers the military a 15% discount on their products.

Nectar Sleep maintains a corporate office in Palo Alto, California.

Boll and Branch Corporate Office

Scott Tannen and his wife Missy started Boll and Branch in January 2014. While neither one had experience in textiles, this pair wanted to create top of the line bedding products.

The Tannen’s knew that most bedding is made in sweatshops overseas, and this is something they wanted to avoid. Not having experience in textiles allowed them to start from scratch.

The company didn’t advertise for the first 18 months, but once media sites like the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune began writing and doing interviews, demand for company products has been tremendous.

Boll and Branch offer luxury, high-quality bedding, towels, and mattresses. All products are organic and are certified by Fair Trade USA.

The company was self-funded and has an estimated annual revenue of $100 million. Products are made in Kolkata, India, with the cotton being grown in Orissa, India.

In October 2016, the company introduced flannel sheets manufactured in Guimaraes, Portugal, and in 2018, a line of ethically produced down pillows.

Mattresses that the company sells aren’t the typical memory foam, but are made from wool, organic cotton, and coil springs.

In April 2020, the company announced that it was donating 10 percent from each sale to the production of mattresses and pillows for popup hospitals dealing with the coronavirus.

While the majority of the company was started with the founder’s own cash, the company received $100 million in additional startup funding in August 2019.

Boll and Branch maintain a corporate office in Summit, New Jersey.

Keepsake Frames Corporate Office

After his wedding, Adam Weiss realized that he had dozens of terrific pictures but they were “lost” within the hundreds of other photos he had on his phone.

Weiss created Keepsake Frames, a mobile phone app that allows people to send the photo they want to be framed, choose a frame, and the size they want, all from their phone.

Keepsake Frames also offers shipping to friends or relatives, and gift cards can also be ordered on the site or on the website.

Keepsake Frames come in a variety of sizes and are handmade from quality metal or wood, manufactured right in the USA. Prints can even be ordered on canvas, for a look like no other.

In May 2019, NYMAG, the online magazine, rated Keepsake Frames as the best online framing service they used.

While frames can be hung on the wall, or placed on a table, the stand for tabletop use is not the typical type of stand and there have been complaints about the device used to hold the frame falls out whenever the photo is moved.

Keepsake Frames maintains a corporate office in New York, New York.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity was founded in Americus, Georgia, by Linda and Millard Fuller. The company operates a nonprofit, international, non-governmental organization that allows people to become homeowners by building newly constructed homes and charging only for the materials. All work is donated.

Habitat for Humanity operates in all 50 US states and in 70 countries. The company has helped more than 29 million people construct, preserve, or rehabilitate their homes.

Former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn are two of the best-known faces of Habitat for Humanity. They have worked on numerous projects since 1984.

The company has received criticism for not training its volunteers sufficiently, which has led to serious injury and even death of some volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity also operates ReStores, which are retail outlets selling new and used building materials donated by others, as well as furniture. Proceeds from ReStores are used to construct housing within the community.

Due to the coronavirus crisis in the spring of 2020, most ReStores and building stopped for a period of time. As of late May 2020, most construction is continuing and ReStores have announced their re-opening dates, which vary around the country.

The first new home delivered since the coronavirus crisis was on May 22, 2020, to Angela Torres in Tacoma, Washington.

The company maintains a corporate office in Americus, Georgia.
