My order for grandchildren’s toys to be sent to a distant state as gifts was clearly stated, yet the toy order was shipped to me. “Customer anti-service” then sent the order to the correct address but with my name as the addressee. (I have to ship back to them the order I received.)
I emailed them about the problem. Their answer was “the order has been shipped,” which did not solve the probkem. I asked for a tracking number to correct the addressee name on the package and was told there was nothing customer service could do after the order shipped. These are poorly trained morons. I will never order anything from. Them again.

I placed an order September 20, 2022. It was the incorrect item. On November 14, I was told FedEx would contact me to pick up the incorrect item and that the correct item would be shipped to me. Today is November 21 and FedEx has not contacted me and I have not received my correct item. prior to this, I purchased a singing peekaboo elephant for my granddaughter, to present to her on her first birthday, but could not because the date of birth was incorrect on the item and this is in spite of me, asking the representative to repeat it to me to ensure that it was going to be correct. I am extremely disappointed in the level of service I have received from Hammacher Schlemmer and I’m just waiting for all of this to be over so that I do not have to deal with them ever again.

This is addressed to Richard Tinberg and Fred Burns: While I am certain thet you don’t give a damn, I thought that I should share my awful experience. Your customer service people are really hard to communicate with as they tend not to listen carefully and information must be dragged out of them.
Twice now I was told I would be called or emailed (within 48 hrs) to resolve my problem – never heard from anyone – I was told “shipping would contact me – what a laugh – never happened.
Hi, you should put a banner on your website and catalog: Welcome to Hammacher-Schlemmer we encourage you to leave your money here, but we don’t care about you at all. If you don’t straighten out
your company you will just be a memory (and not a pleasant one).

What a disgusting g.d. company – cust. serv. reps: 2 get a 0 and 2 get an 8 on a 1-10… that averages a 4.
The products are inferior at best… made cheaply in China.
The shipping took 13 days.,, they couldn’t even track it.
On hold forever (hours) to even get through to cust. serv.
The 2 reps who got a ‘0’ were not only incompetent but NASTY too,,, and one was a manager (all recorded and documented for Rich Tinberg, CEO.
Have asked for senior managers to call me several times – of course, no one has.
Have a 5-star award winning mkt. team and we have copied legal, their cust. base, regulatory agencies, their competition and other miscellaneous interested parties.
What a disgusting g.d. company,

I placed an order on 7/5 for $111.85. When I was checking my online credit card statement Hammacher Schlemmer had charged my credit card the $111.85 and two additional charges in the amount of $181.30 and $ 217.80, charges which I did not make.
When I called Hammacher Schlemmer I was told that the shipping was $22.35. When I told her that my confirmation stated that the S/H was $16.95 and I had the confirmation email. I was told to send the confirmation to customer service and they would honor it.
I don’t understand why Hammacher Schlemmer computer did not have that information, but I sent it as asked.; However that did not account for the extra two charges on my account. I was also told by the representative the charge was for $217.80. I disputed that amount, because I ordered two Items. One item was garden solar lights for $99.95 and replacement bulbs for a mosquito light which was $14.95 total charge was $114.90 minus the promotion discount of $20.00 plus the S/H of $16.95 leaving a total owed of $111.85; which was the total when I placed the order.
My question is how the additional charges of $181.30 and $217.80 got added to my credit card, when I only placed an order for $111.85? I thought my credit card was protected when I placed the order and apparently it was not in order for the two additional charges to show up pending on my credit card. Secondly I do not understand how the company can change the shipping charges after I submitted the order from $16.95 to $22.35. In my mind once an order has been placed an a confirmation for that amount was emailed to me that is the amount I expected to pay. If I had not saved that confirmation email the company would have imposed the higher fee on my order.
I am very disappointed withe how this transaction was handled and based on this transaction I doubt very seriously if I will ever do business with this company again, because incompetency and dishonesty were very evident in this transaction by increasing the shipping charge and submitting charges on my credit card which I did not make.

Had horrible experience with customer service. Left message for Trish Hammond in public relations and did not receive a call back. Wow!
