Great Floors was founded by Keith and Marge Chadderdon in the early part of the 1970’s in and around Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The Chadderdon’s traveled in a truck through Idaho and Montana, selling carpet and other types of flooring. The first store opened in Coeur d’Alene, under the name of Carpet Center.
Today, Great Floors has 16 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest. The company sells and installs a wide variety of flooring, including carpet, hardwood, and laminate, but recently began offering greener options as well, such as cork, bamboo, and natural linoleum. In addition to flooring, the company installs countertops for kitchens and baths, as well as commercial building needs as well.
Great Floors is still owned and operated by the Chadderdon family. Headquarters are still located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, just a few hundred feet from where the original showroom was located.

Posting again: 7/20/22 After 3 weeks of not hearing back from Great Floors Lynnwood, we canceled attempts today to purchase Shaw Flooring through Costco sale. Going now to a local Shaw dealer who is NOT GREAT FLOORS. Costco should cancel their contract w Great Floors! Project Manager & Measurer both came 6/29/22. We asked for bids on engineered hardwood (and ALSO carpet bid FOR A REASON) for three bedrooms. Had Shaw wood on main floor in 2016 so figured that style/ color was no longer available. Guy said he’d check anyway. Never got back to us w any other Shaw hardwood samples. Carpet was backup bid in case the wood came in too high over budget. Also asked bid for vinyl tile in two bathrooms. Sales guy was going to get back to us. Never did! We made several contacts from our end. He made excuses but never called us or sent bids until I caught him on cell phone today and told him we were walking away but still wanted to see the bids. Made him text a bid. Alas just a sketchy last minute incomplete $9k bid for only carpet & tile. Didn’t even have the sales tax on the bid. Asked him why no wood and some weird excuse about why he didn’t bother. Tried to talk to local manager or get contact info for Great Floors CEO but Lynnwood hung up on us. We had a $25k budget for these wood and vinyl floors and were ready to purchase. Your competition is very happy you didn’t want our money.

Horrible experience so far. Have been trying to get a referral to a manufacturer for FIVE months now (almost 20 phone calls) and still only comments that “I will call you later today…or first part of next week” and still no response. Really bad management follow up from a local manager to the head if sales. 360304XXXX
